According to former Jigawa State governor Alhaji Sule Lamido, Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike has every right to be irate about failing to realize his presidential ambitions while running on the PDP platform.

This was stated by Lamido, a PDP leader, in an exclusive interview with Vanguard on Wednesday.



At the special convention held on May 28, 2022, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Wike came in second place to former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

According to rumors, Wike is upset because Atiku chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State to be his running partner on June 16, 2022.

Lamido responded to these events by saying: “He is justified in being upset about not achieving his own personal interest or objective, but once again, that is what leadership means. He is a member of the party, and the party is not against him.

“Whatever may have been the reason for his inability to attain his interest, should not be regarded too seriously at a personal level. The party is his home, his own group, and his own support.”

Now, Wike resembles a boiling pot. He is so enraged because those close to him prevent him from seeing clearly.

Given his success as the governor of the oil-rich state, Wike was a valuable asset to the PDP and a front-runner who had etched his name in glory, according to Lamido.



He added that the party needed to save the governor of Rivers State and keep him around for the long term, but he blamed unnamed people close to the governor for fueling the embers of animosity.

Wike is one of the best materials and a priceless asset for the PDP, he declared. He is the obvious heir to the throne if we win (in 2023) since he possesses the necessary qualities, aura, charm, charisma, and age.

His deadliest enemies are those who surround him, whom he believes to be his own buddies. They are adding more wood to the fire since it is a fact that he will discover later. They ought to be taking out all the wood from the fire by now so that the pot can cool.

“PDP is a family, as I’ve been saying. Expectations were raised before the primary election, but some of them were not realized. Thus, it is normal for someone to respond. That makes sense to me. The PDP has benefited greatly from Governor Wike’s strong leadership, success as governor of his own state, and strong support of the party.

“However, the PDP created him. He is someone we must protect, and we must deliver him from his own rage,” Lamido continued.

Fans shouldn’t have high hopes for Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s Game of Thrones, to join Kit Harrington in receiving her own spin-off series.

GameSpot discovered an interview with Clarke on the BBC in which he mentioned the Jon Snow-focused spin-off that creator George R.R. Martin recently revealed. After pitching the concept to Martin and HBO personally, Harrington was keen to come back, and Clarke was asked if she would also reprise her part in a new series.

Instead, 456 recruits from all around the world will compete in games where “the worst fate is going home empty-handed” and missing out on a prize pool of $4.56 million (£3.8 million).

Earlier this week, Netflix confirmed that the popular comedy would be renewed for a second season.

The platform claimed on Wednesday that Squid Game: The Challenge, a 10-episode series, will have the “biggest cast and lump cash reward in reality TV history.”

“As [players] compete in a variety of games inspired by the original show – as well as some unexpected new additions – their plans, alliances, and character will be put to the test as competitors are removed around them,” says the press release.

Participants must be at least 21 years old to participate. They must be able to communicate in English and be ready for filming for up to four weeks in early 2023.

The 456 participants are a reference to the fictitious series with the same number of characters, with Seong Gi-hun, the primary protagonist, also referred to as Player 456.

The South Korean thriller series follows a group of debt-ridden people as they compete in a deadly series of children’s games for a large cash reward.

It is Netflix’s most-watched series of all time, with 111 million people watching it in the first 28 days of its release.

Hwang Dong-hyuk, director, writer, and executive producer of Squid Game, said in a statement on Monday: “Last year, the first season of Squid Game took 12 years to complete. Squid Game, on the other hand, just needed 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever.”

Netflix is up against stiff competition from streaming competitors, but it was also hurt after raising pricing and exiting Russia.

It announced a dramatic loss in subscribers in April and warned that millions more were on the verge of leaving the streaming service.

The firm’s market worth plummeted by more than $50 billion, and analysts warned it would be difficult to get back on track.
