Nigerian fuel marketers are importing refined products from the Dangote Refinery through a ship-to-ship trading hub in Lome, Togo. This is happening even though the refinery can now supply the local market directly.

S&P Global Energy analyst Matthew Tracey-Cook disclosed this during a webinar organised by the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN). He said the trend shows the refinery's growing role in regional fuel trade.

Between March and May 2026, between 70 and 80 percent of fuel imported into Nigeria by sea came from the Dangote Refinery. The products move from Dangote's coastal facilities to Lome and then back into Nigeria.

Tracey-Cook said this pattern points to possible differences between local and international pricing structures. He added that Dangote is also expanding globally, supplying fuel to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and South Africa.

It's been quite a while since I drove long distance, so I have never had issues with my papers, I just greet and pass at police check points.

This time around, I needed to drive from Ibadan to Port Harcourt, all checks completed on my car and I set out on my trip. As usual , I passed through couple of check points just the usual greet-and-pass, until I got to a checkpoint on Ijebu-Ode/ Ore express where I was stopped. And right was an angel in police uniform. After checking all my papers, he discovered that during my last renewal, my e-CMR was not renewed. Instead of the usual scenarios where police officers take advantage of people, he took me through the process in less than five minutes and I got my e-CMR. From what I gathered, it wasn't his first time, he had done for others before me.
Being a Sunday trip, I couldn't get a business center to print the e-CMR, which turned the 8-9hrs journey into a 14hrs journey. Every single checkpoint wanted money because 'they have been told not to check people's phones again', the typical Nigerian police looking for every loophole to extort Nigerians.

For the past 3 weeks now I have been having some issues on my car battery. Most time I will park it in the night only to start it in the morning and found out the battery has drained but the surprise comes when I jump-start it with another battery and it works then drive it and stay in office for almost 11hrs, whenever I start the car it will work perfectly, the only time it drains is overnight.

Growing up in a village, the oldest person you can call by name is someone a year older or perhaps someone younger than your immediate older siblings. If you call any of your older sibling age mate by his/ her first name, you'll be reminded verbally or violently.

So there was this lady that came for schooling, mheenn such a beauty that turns heads. The bottleneck was that she saw me in my secondary school uniform and I assume she's automatically older, due to the fact that she came for tertiary education.
When my older brother came back from school too, he was wow'd by the same lady. Being the older one, my brother took over the friendship and the lady then started looking at me like 'that small boy'. Just looking back at the 4 years age difference recently made me feel like, I should have shot my shot. The issue was that she was 2 years older than my older brother. That would have complicated things.
Fast forward, my best female find was dead gorgeous too, but up till now she still can't fathom why I never showed interest in her. She is 6 months older than my older brother too.

For the records, I am a millennial, born and brought up when there was little sanity.
