Day 10...still going strong. |
Day 8. still free. Only thinking of the loses. Time heals. #Onedayatatime |
Day 6. Up and running. Been reading Mj DeMarco's "Millionaire fast lane" Much knowledge is hidden in this book and I must say, it's such an eye opener. #Onedayatatime |
So today is the 5th day of me being gambling free. Wow! Thanks to God. I've been doing serious research online as regards this mental disorder and I've read alot of stories and testimonies and one thing I've come to realize is that, problem gambling strives in secrecy. I.e You're probably going to keep on as long as no one knows about it. #Onedayatatime. I feel stronger and thankful today. |
Hello Everyone, This thread is borne out of my honest and earnest quest to stop gambling for the last time(yeah I've relapsed on several occasion), but this period, it's a total battle declared and i must become victorious. This thread will serve a dual purpose of keeping me in check while enlightening anyone who cares to read on the dangers one could be putting him/herself in by engaging in any form of betting; be it online or offline. This is More like an awareness campaign, which is the reason I opened it on the family section. There are several online forums(mostly foreign)strictly for gambling addiction recovery where I could have gone, since I would see like minds to share my daily experience and the roadmap to recovery, but no place like Nairaland(lol) I believe most parents visit the family section on NL. It's important that you occasionally checkmate your child to ensure that this disease(yes! it's a serious mental disorder)doesn't visit your family as it's becoming rampant in the present day Nigeria where the quest for quick money( irrespective of the means and consequencies) is the order of the day. I will not bore you, at this stage, with my story into the world of non_stop_247 betting binge but eventually, everything will be put out here. If you're already addicted and you desire to stop, it's either now or never. Follow me on this Journey of One step at a time. Cheers. |
