If, and that's a big if, I did have any Bini blood in me then it'll be so minuscule that it wouldn't really count. I consider myself fully Igbo.

Bini culture was simply borrowed just like they borrow some Igbo words. Thr Igwe of Nnewi also uses the 'Bini royal staff' with Bini regalia. Are Nnewi prople binis too?

In worldwide Linguistics, there are set of languages called edoid languages. Most of them are decedent of the Benin Kingdom. Sometimes the founder are the Oba's son , relative or warriors. For instance, the Ishan kingdom was formed by the chief priest of the Oba who ran away for fear for his life. He grew so respected in the Benin Kingdom that the Oba at that time because jealous and attempted to kill him.
