I think we need a mindset shift in this country as regards startups. Look at other startups around the world, one of the reasons why they get funding is to attract the best minds and retain them. The best way you can keep intelligent members of your team engaged is when they can work in a conducive environment. The investors infact expect that part of the budget is going into that, and trust me, they monitor their investments closely.

As for low returns, well from all indications, the agric sector is different from other sectors. It requires patience and so many factors that are beyond their control, such as weather, soil, biological factors and how fast they can sell the product.

The fact that not a single farm sponsor as complained that they haven't gotten back their sponsorship and ROI is a serious testimonial and with the vice president visit and all the good things he had to say, I think we need to give this startup a chance to radically change the agric sector in Nigeria and encourage them while at it. It's not easy.

Farming is officially the new cool.
If you are not in on it yet, you should definitely take five minutes to read this post.
It is no news that the farming community in Nigeria is populated by rural farmers who practice subsistence farming with insufficient resources, yet they make a significant contribution to our GDP and also provide the largest source of rural employment.

On the other end, we have a tremendous number of individuals and groups who are passionate about agriculture and are looking for avenues to explore this unharnessed potential of our economy.

Things you must know before starting a poultry farm

It’s not unusual for new farmers to start out with poultry because of the popular opinion that poultry farming is an easy entry into farming in general. To an extent, this opinion is true, but we can emphatically point out that this is not always the case. There are already a ton of post online that go straight into finding a good location for your farm but we’ll show you the operations, and the dynamics that 99% of these posts don’t talk about.

Click the link below to learn the 7 things you must know before starting a poultry farm from our own experience:
