Iran has said that by imposing a blockade and violating the ceasefire, Trump seeks to turn the negotiating table into a table of surrender or to justify renewed warmongering. Washington: The future of the second round of peace talks between Iran and the United States, planned to take place this week in Pakistan, remains uncertain after officials in Tehran threatened not to attend after the US seized an Iranian-flagged vessel near the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend. The two-week ceasefire between Tehran and Washington is set to expire on Wednesday, with US President Donald Trump saying it's highly unlikely that it will be extended. Iran has, meanwhile, said that by imposing a blockade and violating the ceasefire, Trump seeks to turn the negotiating table into a table of surrender or to justify renewed warmongering. "We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats, and in the past two weeks, we have prepared to reveal new cards on the battlefield," Iran's powerful parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who is Iran's top negotiator in talks with the United States, wrote in a post on X. Ghalibaf also threatened that Tehran had "new cards" if war resumes with the United States and Israel. "We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats, and in the last two weeks we have been preparing to show new cards on the battlefield," he wrote on X. The Hormuz Problem While both the US and Iran have expressed hope of negotiating an end to the war, they have continued to escalate a standoff in and around the Hormuz Strait, the critical water passage that has emerged as a central issue in peace talks. What the US Said The Trump administration has said the US delegation would attend peace talks in Pakistan this week. The US president initially said talks in Islamabad would occur on Tuesday, but that date could be pushed back. Washington is again sending its team lead by Vice President JD Vance for the talks, which also include Trump's Middle East special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. However, amid the uncertainty over talks, Trump has issued a stark warning, declaring that if the fragile two-week ceasefire with Iran expires without a breakthrough, "then lots of bombs start going off." Speaking to PBS News, Trump was asked what would happen if the ceasefire expires. "Then lots of bombs start going off," he said. "I mean, they're supposed to be there. We agreed to be there, although they say we didn't. But no, it was set up. And we'll see whether or not it's there. If they're not there, that's fine too," he added. The Contentions An Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity with The Washington Post, said the tone of Trump's public statements and the ongoing US blockade were the two most serious issues threatening talks. They claimed the two sides largely agreed on the outlines of a deal, but Trump's public "maximalism" risked scuttling the diplomatic progress. Mediators in Pakistan have also reportedly conveyed similar messages to the Trump administration, warning against strong public rhetoric. They also encouraged the US president to allow the narrative that talks in Islamabad were a "win-win" for Iran and the United States, a Pakistani official told The Post. |

Why It Sucks to Be Born as a Kobudai Fish (A.K.A. Asian Sheepshead Wrasse) You start life as a bland little fish, just vibing in the ocean. Then nature hits you with a puberty so violent, even your ancestors would disown you. Your face mutates into a swollen, gelatinous horror show. A forehead so massive it could intercept radio signals in real time. NASA saw it and quietly shut down a satellite. It’s not a skull — it’s a broadcast tower. A fleshy billboard for evolutionary failure. And hey, be proud… maybe KSI got inspired by your head shape before his boxing career took off. You look like a rejected Pokémon evolution. Like someone tried to sculpt a fish out of expired tofu and rage. Your chin droops like it’s carrying the weight of your bad decisions. Your lips hang like you’re perpetually trying to remember where you parked your dignity. And those teeth? Dentist-proof. Not because they’re strong — because no dentist would survive the psychological trauma of treating you. You’ve got the dental layout of a haunted doll. Evolution took one look and said, “Yeah, let’s make this unfixable.” Your bite is less “predator” and more accidental paper shredder. What if you were born female? Oh yes — I was talking about the female this whole time. And here’s the plot twist you didn’t see coming: you spend years as a female, then one day start overthinking — being female is tougher than being male… so screw it, let’s switch. 🔁 And now you’re a male. Not because it’s empowering. Because even nature couldn’t commit to your identity. You morph into a male with all the grace of a wet sock turning into a tax accountant. It’s not metamorphosis — it’s a biological rebranding. You swim like you’re apologizing to the ocean. You haunt rocky reefs like a confused grandfather who wandered out of a retirement home and into a marine documentary. Other fish don’t fear you. They pity you. Divers take selfies with you like you’re a meme come to life. And yet… you survive. Somehow. You eat crustaceans with your cursed mouth. You drift through life like a fish-shaped existential crisis. You don’t hunt. You don’t flee. You just… exist. Like a soggy monument to evolutionary indifference. So if you ever need proof that nature has a dark sense of humor, look no further than the Asian Sheepshead Wrasse. A fish so tragic, even the abyss looks away. --- 📌 Fact Check: The Asian Sheepshead Wrasse is a protogynous hermaphrodite — which is science-speak for born female, later changes to male. It’s not random. When the big male in the area dies, the largest female transforms into a male and takes over breeding. #asiansheepsheadwrasse #NatureIsBrutal #WeirdAnimals #CronusPost #WildlifeFacts #DeepSeaDrama

The Parasite That Drove a Body Into Death. 💀 In the quiet damp of the forest floor, a snail searches for food. It finds a trail innocent-looking, just another droplet of bird droppings on a leaf. It feeds. And that… is where the horror begins. Inside that droplet were the eggs of a parasitic flatworm — "Leucochloridium paradoxum" Once swallowed, the parasite awakens inside the snail’s body. It doesn’t aim to kill. It aims to control. It multiplies. Then it moves — not to the heart, not to the gut, but to the snail’s eye stalks. There, it transforms them. The stalks swell and pulse, bloated with worms, twitching like maggots trapped in a membrane. To a bird flying above, they look like a juicy caterpillar. But the parasite isn’t done. It hijacks the snail’s nervous system rewiring instinct, overriding fear. The snail, once a creature of shade and safety, now crawls toward the light. Toward danger. Toward open leaves where the birds can see it. Because that’s exactly what the parasite wants. It has turned the snail into bait. And when the bird comes and eats those swollen, twitching eye stalks the parasite returns home. Back inside the bird. Where it can reproduce. Lay more eggs. And the cycle continued. Nature doesn’t care who suffers. It only cares what survives. --- Mercy isn’t coded into the wild. Only hunger. Only instinct. And if something has to suffer for life to move on? So be it. — Nature --- #ParasiticWorms #creepyfacts #natureismetal #WildlifeUnfiltered #BrutalNature

🪸 A deep-sea creature unknown to science — until 2023. Near the frozen waters of Antarctica, a strange dancer drifts in the dark. The strawberry feather star — 20 arms, each lined with tiny feathery tendrils — more alien than animal. It doesn’t swim so much as it flies through water, gliding with a slow, deliberate grace. Its arms aren’t just for movement — they’re for feeding, snaring drifting particles like invisible prey. It anchors to the seafloor when it wants to vanish. It takes to the current when it wants to hunt. Half plant in appearance, all predator in truth. A reminder that Earth’s most alien lifeforms aren’t in space. They’re already here. Waiting in the cold. --- #deepseacreatures #oceanlife #animalfacts #DidYouKnow

Bruce Lee, the legendary martial artist and film icon, died suddenly on July 20, 1973, at just 32 years old—mere weeks before the release of his career-defining film Enter the Dragon. The news stunned the world. That day, Lee complained of a headache while visiting actress Betty Ting Pei’s Hong Kong apartment. After taking a painkiller, he lay down to rest and never woke up. Doctors determined the cause as cerebral edema—swelling of the brain—and ruled it “death by misadventure,” meaning an accidental death linked to risky circumstances. Yet, the abrupt loss of such a fit, vibrant figure ignited endless speculation. In Hong Kong and abroad, rumors swirled that Lee had been assassinated by Chinese triads or jealous martial artists threatened by his influence. Some whispered of an ancient curse for teaching martial arts to non-Chinese students. Others spun wilder tales—secret societies, poisoning, or even attacks by Japanese ninjas—none backed by solid evidence, but all feeding a persistent aura of mystery. Regardless of the theories, Bruce Lee’s legacy only grew. His creation of Jeet Kune Do, rooted in adaptability and fluid motion, reshaped martial arts worldwide. His short but groundbreaking film career transformed action cinema and introduced global audiences to Asian culture. Decades later, Lee remains an enduring symbol of discipline, intellect, and cultural pride—a man whose lightning-fast moves and magnetic presence redefined what a hero could be. His death, still clouded in intrigue, marked a tragic close to a life lived with unstoppable intensity.

The jaguar is the most dominant predator in the Americas. Its compact and powerful body can weigh up to 120 kilograms and measure up to 1.85 meters long, not including its tail. Its build is designed for brute force and the perfect ambush. It moves in absolute silence, stalks with surgical precision, and attacks with sudden v!olence that leaves no opportunity for escape. It has the strongest bite of any feline relative to its size, with an estimated pressure of between 1,500 and 2,000 psi. This force allows it to pierce directly into the sku|| of its prey, ki||ing with a single bite that passes through bone and reaches the brain. It is the only feline that routinely uses this technique, making it a lethal and precise ki||er. Not only does it dominate the land, it's also a formidable swimmer. It dives into rivers, crosses lagoons, and ambushes aquatic prey like caimans and capybaras with the same efficiency as in the jungle. It can drag c/\rcasses twice its weight and fearlessly confront large, armed enemies. The jaguar is pure strength, strategy, and supremacy. Its mere presence commands respect in the ecosystem. Nothing h-unts it, everything avoids it. It doesn't share its territory; it dominates it. 👑🐆

A teaspoon of honey is nothing to you. Barely enough to sweeten a drink. To a bee, it’s the death toll of twelve lives. Tens of thousands of flowers raided. Six thousand miles flown on wings that will never rest again. They’ll never taste it. Never feel the sweetness they’ve built. Every drop is for the hive, not the maker. Because in nature, nothing truly belongs to you. You’re just holding it until something stronger takes it. --- #honeybee #beefacts #naturephotography #DidYouKnow #animalfacts
