Super Eagles Arrive At Akwa Ibom Airport, Promise Victory Against Bafana Bafana On Saturday

The Nigerian delegation to Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana of South Africa, arrived at the Akwa Ibom International Airport in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital at exactly 4:25pm on Monday.
Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, led the delegation to the city of Uyo.
Rohr, a German tactician, in a brief interview with Sports journalists at the airport, has however, promised that the national team will not let Nigeria down when they clash with their opponents at the Godswill Akpabio International Airport on Saturday.
The pre-match media parley with journalists will take place on Thursday, June 8, at Le Meridien Hotel, Uyo at 12pm.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are expected to lodge at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo.

Godswill Akpabio's Threat To Sue Me Is Inconsequential.

My attention has been drawn to a libellous publication in the media credited to a Media Aide to the Senate Minority Leader and erstwhile governor of Akwa Ibom State, senator Godswill Akpabio, threatening to sue me over my statement on Facebook on the looting of public funds during his administration.

My simple reaction to the threat by Akpabio is that a man who has no reputation cannot be heard to complain about defamation of character. Akpabio should be reminded that this is not the bloody era when he held Akwa Ibom State hostage as his personal fiefdom.

I am particularly pleased with the decision by the man who publicly confessed to rigging election to sue me for insisting that Akwa Ibom funds were stolen during his regime. I stand by that statement and I also reiterate that the stolen funds could have funded the budgets of Ebonyi State for the next two to three decades.

In the event that Akpabio decides to file a lawsuit, my 1st Defence Witness; If at all there would be anything to defend, would be no other person but Godswill Akpabio. I cannot wait to have Akpabio in the witness box for him to give evidence of how the resources of our people were stolen and looted.

This case would add credence to the African aphorism that every day is for the thief, but one day is for the owner.

Let Akpabio hire 100 Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) together with 1000 other lawyers, the truth will prevail in the end over criminal shenanigans and falsehood. Goliath was brought down, conquered, defeated and thoroughly disgraced by David.

Akpabio should be ashamed of himself. The blood of innocent sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom State who were maimed and killed under his watch will continue to haunt him.

The attention of the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, has been drawn to a statement credited to one Inibehe Effiong, a supposed legal practitioner, being circulated in online media, alleging that the former governor, who governed Akwa Ibom State from 2007-2015, did nothing throughout his stay in office.

He also alleged that” the fund stolen by the former governor was enough to fund the budget of neighbouring Ebonyi State for two decades” .
Ordinarily, the Senator would not have dignified the author with a reply because they are all based on falsehood, lies, hatred and untruth. Dignifying such a statement would mean taking the writer and his clueless submission serious and that would encourage characters like him to jump at any opportunity with cheap data packages to insult and character assassinate public officers.
But for record purposes, it is pertinent that we advice the unsuspecting public to disregard the statement because it is entirely the ranting of an ant looking for undeserved media attention.

The achievements of Akpabio while in office are there for even the blind, lame and deaf to know. A million and one Inibehe Effiong and his ilks can continue to struggle albeit unsuccessfully, to obliterate the achievements of Akpabio as the governor of Akwa Ibom State, but they will continue to be the losers.

We are very happy that Inibehe Effiong and other spineless emergency sponsored public commentators, who are very much in the minority, have been flying into Ibom International Airport, watch matches at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, enjoy steady power supply, drive on the roads constructed by the Akpabio government just to mention a few. Yet in their understanding, he did nothing.

While Inibehe Effiong has the constitutional right to voice his view on issues affecting the state, it our view that as a supposed legal practitioner, he should be guided by the principles of an accused being innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law. It is not within the right and purview of Inibehe and his cohorts to declare anybody corrupt or guilty.

Therefore we call on Inibehe Effiong to immediately substantiate his allegations against the Senate Minority Leader, failure which he should be ready to face a very robust legal challenge. This will serve as a deterrent to such frivolous characters who want to use the name of Senator Akpabio for undeserved media attention.

This video of an unidentified helpless man caught on camera getting a close contact with his dingus on a lady's behind while waiting in queue for a BRT bus in Lagos, has gone viral. The Edo state police command have arrested four policemen attached to the Esigie Police Division over a viral video showing some police officers in the state handcuffing a bus driver, 38 year old Kester Odozi, on a bus and driving around with him.

The four policemen were on Thursday made to face orderly room trial.

Confirming their arrest, the AIG, zone 5 in Edo state, Abubakar Adamu, described the conduct of the policemen as unprofessional and does not in any way depict the ethics and core values of the Nigeria Police Force. He said the police have started an investigation into the matter and that the police officers will be punished if they are found guilty.

Most time I ask myself is it really true because when things like this happen you don’t really know what to say or do.

An unidentified man was caught pants down trying to convince his supposed friend's wife to commit adultery, by having sex with him on her matrimonial bed, somewhere in Nigeria. In a video trending online, the naked man, who's also married, is seen begging the woman's husband after he was caught. An avoidable error by a supposed medical doctor has resulted in a baby losing one of its hand.

According to the story shared by a Facebook user, a man had taken his brother's wife to the hospital to deliver her baby. However, on getting there the doctor arrived at the conclusion that the baby was dead and sought the permission of the brother-in-law to amputate the child's hand so as to save the woman's life.

Turns out the baby was not dead and the child will have to live without a limb due to a doctor's mistake. The incident, which happened in northern Nigeria, has led a lot of people to call for further investigation because the story does not add up.

Some of you may have heard the gist about Davido and Ice Prince's face off in Warri last night, now let's give you all the juicy details.

Last night, an event (Delta Alive) organised by Shina Peller (owner of Quilox night club) went down in Warri. The show had Davido, Lil Kesh, Ice Prince, CDQ and others as headliners.

According to an inside source, trouble started from the airport when Davido was picked up in a G-Wagon while Ice Prince was picked up with a saloon car.

The gesture infuriated Ice Prince and he let the organisers know he wasn't pleased. Davido got to hear of his complains and was angry too.

Then the issue escalated during the concert when Ice Prince was made to perform before Lil Kesh, a move that's seen as an insult to the bigger artiste.

Ice Prince made it an issue back stage and Davido who had been boiling from the car complaint and obviously a close friend of Lil Kesh jumped in defence of Kesh and things got messy.

Popular South African artist, Ayanda Mabulu has sparked an outrage on social media for making a controversial artwork of President Jacob Zuma having sex with former President Nelson Mandela who died in 2013.
Although, the Nelson Mandela Foundation on Facebook has issued a statement saying, that though it respects the right to freedom of expression, it finds the 'painting distasteful'.
'In reaction to the painting currently in the public domain by Mr. Ayanda Mabulu, the Nelson Mandela Foundation notes the public outrage it has caused and appreciates that the public is offended by it.'The Foundation would like to express that it respects Mr. Mabulu’s right to freedom of expression.We, however, find this painting distasteful, the statement added.

While a statement released by the Presidency also criticized the painting, but added that they respect his freedom of expression. 'Whilst we respect Mabulu's freedom of expression, we find his work grotesque, inflammatory and of bad taste,' the ANC said in a statement.

A church in Congo known as Louzolo Amour, uses beer to cast demons out of their members.

The church was founded by a man known as Guy Emile Loufoua Cetikouabo, who proclaimed himself God, and claimed to be invisible. Although he is dead, the church members say he is represented on earth by their current leader, Charles Mikoungui Loundou.
The church believes beer can be used to cleanse evil spirits. The members call this mixture of beer and faith, “biéramicine”.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) shared these photos showing the Rivers State Sector Commander, Andrew A Kumapayi, cutting off the hair extension of two female members during the command's parade today April 10th.

Their hair was cut off because it contravened some work place regulations.
The commission has a rule which states that all female uniformed officers must not have a hairstyle that drops past their collar.

A woman identified as Mrs Theresa Obalum was brutally hacked to death by one Mmadubueze Orakwulu on Friday morning in Mgbakwu, in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. According to villagers, Orakwulu allegedly used a machete to hack Mrs. Theresa Obalum, (who was about 40 years of age) to death, while on her early morning routine of selling pap to customers.
Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, Mrs Nkiru Nwode, who confirmed the incident, told Channels TV that the suspect had already been killed and set ablaze before the arrival of the Police, adding that the Police have deposited the woman’s remains in the mortuary and investigation into the incident has commenced.

"We deployed our men quickly to the place and when they got there, the angry mob had already set the suspect ablaze but we recovered the corpse of the deceased woman and we have evacuated the body to Isuaniocha Hospital. What has happened is very unfortunate but we have deposited the corpse for autopsy and at the same time, we will go into a discreet investigation and we will charge anyone found liable to such act to court." Mrs Nwode said."The suspect who was set ablaze is about 38 years old and from what we gathered, they said he is a deportee from Morocco on grounds of drugs. So, whatever that must have led to the incident, I think it is premature to say but in the course of investigation, we will still brief the public on the outcome."
