Braft: How can a lawyer be so fraudulent to collect money from you without delivering the service and still has the guts to threaten you. This is stealing. A thief and a criminal. Can you imagine? |

Braft: You can be sure that a Nigerian lawyer will lie to you, will most likely deceive you just to get your money and scam you. A criminal prosecuting another criminal, so what kind of result do you expect from such a case? He will surely lose the case because he will lie to the judge and try to manipulate the judge or try to bribe the judge, so he will lose the case. That's it. |

litigator: Well! My take is that most Nigerians are the architect of their misfortune. Why am I saying this?
First, we have loads and loads of quack and fake lawyers who are not qualified to practice law in Nigeria, but they are practising just like we have fake doctors, LASMA officers, etc.
I encountered a potential client who wanted to travel earlier this year.
He was happily married with kids in Nigeria. But he told the visa officers that he was a divorcee. And when he was asked to produce an enrolment order evidencing this, which he erroneously called a divorce certificate, he could not provide any evidence.
Secondly, Nigerians hate the truth.
Why am I saying this?
Upon interviewing him, I discovered he had lied to procure his visa and needed a marriage certificate to back up his lies.
He was still happily married. Guess what?
The wife had no idea what was happening. He needed the certificate within a month. I told him the truth, but this didn't sit well with him.
He reported me to the friend that referred him that I was a quack and didn't know what I was doing. He was joyous that he was able to procure what he called a divorce certificate at the sum of 50k.
He didn't know that what he got was a fake certificate.
The matter didn't go to court, had no case file, and no document was filed.
How did he get a decree order nisi much more decree absolute?
This takes a minimum of six months to a year if it is an undefended suit. And if contested, it could take forever.
If the embassy discovers tomorrow that he produced a fake enrolment order and his visa is revoked, he will blame the lawyer.
Also, Nigerians don't like paying professionals. I was reading of the one that paid a lawyer 90k to defend him in a criminal case.
Why on earth should a sane litigator charge 90k for a criminal case that you only know when you begin a case and don't know when or how it will end? It may drag on for years, and you may be buried in a mountain of paperwork.
Well! A hungry lawyer will take it. But when reality sets in and he discovers he is now spending his personal to prosecute a client's case, he will abandon the case. Especially if hunger and the need to get food was the immediate reason, he took the case in the first place.
Lastly, most clients don't tell their lawyers the absolute truth. They tell the lawyer what they think the lawyer should know. But when shit hits the fan in court and the adverse party supplies evidence to knock out the case, they will turn back and blame the lawyer.
I can't imagine spending 12-18 hours on average thinking of how to solve a client's legal issues, having earned my fee, only to discover that the client withheld vital information or lied outrightly. I may not tell the client, but the case will lose its steam cos it will be off my priority list. I have a target of the number of cases I want to win each year.
So before you blame all the lawyers in Nigeria and support Master Shakespeare's elucidation that all lawyers should be killed, look inward and ask yourself if you are not the architect of your misfortune.
Shalom. Good comment lawyer. If every lawyer in Nigeria could reason like you, Nigeria will be better. We need good lawyers who are disciplined, truthful, and reliable. Nigeria needs a change. |

Godsson1: OP in as much as you had some bad experience with some lawyers doesn't mean all lawyers are fraudulent and makes all bad. Do you know you can report/petition any lawyer who acted fraudulently towards you and you have evidence of it to the Legal Practitioner Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) and if found guilty can lose his license to practice? Please act accordingly. Thank you and God bless you. Thanks bro. Yes I know that not all lawyers are fraudulent, not all are bad. Only the few bad eggs among them are spoiling the image of the profession, just like in every other profession where the bad ones tarnish the image of good ones. But if we don't start this campaign to correct this thing in Nigeria and this kind of mentality of pride among lawyers where they will collect money from you and feel too big on top of your money to deliver the service, this kind wrong mentality among them will not stop. It will never stop until we stop it through social media awareness campaigns and shaming the bad ones. Lawyers in Nigeria are too full of pride and arrogance. Most of them. Almost all of them. They will collect your money and still expect you to beg them to do the job you paid them to do. It's very bad. Lawyers in developed countries like US take their jobs more seriously and have human feeling than Nigerian lawyers. We must puncture this evil pride in lawyers by exposing them so that they can sit up and change. Let them realise they are not Lords as they think, or that they can do anything to anybody and get away with it because they are lawyers. Enough is enough. Thank you bro. |

Greatzeus: Are you normal at all? Or has your horrible experience at the hand of a lawyer affected you psychologically and mentally, you write like a mentally unstable person. Abnormally long incoherent gibberish, without stating specifically how you were defrauded. Just rambling along like a goat without rope on its neck Gtfoh Yes, it's expected. I fully expected comments like this and I know they will come. You thought you could provoke me with your comments and insults? No I'm higher than that level you're operating from because I can never and will never be provoked. So if you like gather all the insults in the whole world and insult me, you're wasting your time because it can never get to me. Is that taken? But people who know the value of what I've written will understand it. It's for people with higher mental capacity and who appreciate the truth, not for children. |

megastu: No one will respond to you. If your lawyer defrauded you, please lay complaints to the appropriate authorities. You can only report to the appropriate authorities and expect action to be taken in a sane and working country where institutions work normally. But not in Nigeria. Human beings are bigger than the institutions in Nigeria. So a guilty person can even head an institution or appropriate authority and then how do you report a guilty person to himself? The institution/appropriate authorities have been compromised. Before a person comes online to write things, he must have seen a lot and passed through a lot. And spent a lot. Social media has become the appropriate authority for many people in Nigeria, and that's where many issues are settled fast, after wasting your money and time for many years looking for justice and you can't get justice and the evil lawyers frustrate you, the next bus stop is to spread the story all over the internet and all over the world, so that we can kukuma tarnish the image of the whole profession involved, so that they can learn and change for the better. |

Your thought-processes are too haphazard and unfocused. Please don't wait for your shít to get any worse than this, go get help now. Very soon you will realize that it's you who really needs help. When the time comes, I will remind you of my statements when they come to pass. You need serious help but you don't even know. You and me are not operating on the same plane because you're too low to comprehend the level where I am operating from. That's why I said you need serious help. Mind you, before you can get to the level where I'm operating from, it will take you at least 100 years from now. So you can never even dream of getting there in your entire generation. That's why you can never understand me because we are not on the same level and your level is too low. So you need serious help. |

And I already know the person who will become president after Buhari and it's not even one of the 3 people above.
But Nigerians are so gullible that they have been so much deceived with empty promises by these politicians, most of whom have nothing to offer the people, except sorrow, tears and blood.
Beware! |

Who do you think will take over from Buhari?
Share your comments below.
But let me tell you who will never become Nigeria's president after Buhari and even after the person who will take over from Buhari.
The following people below can never become Nigeria's president, no matter how hard they try:
Atiku Abubakar.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
They are only wasting their time.
It's a complete waste of time and money they are doing. They can never become Nigeria's president either now or in the future.
And Peter Obi himself cannot even become Nigeria's president in this dispensation because he won't even win in the first place. If at all he will become Nigeria's president, it will be after 8 years of the person who will take over from Buhari.
So who then do you think will be Nigeria's president who will take over from Buhari??
Drop your comments below.
Let's discuss.
