My tuition off a
amnotapervert:
ATTAHDYE asked you the right questions

You said you weren’t planning to include your son’s U.S. citizenship in your application and would only use his Nigerian passport information.

Hahaha… please do not do this. His place of birth already reveals that. I am begging you whatever you do, do not lie to IRCC even if its a small white lie.

Now, to answer your main question: Can I show only the balance of tuition for the first year and living expenses as proof of funds, or do I have to show the full amount for the entire program (2–3 years)?

You can show the balance of the first year’s tuition plus living expenses as your proof of funds.

However, your sponsors should demonstrate that they have the financial capacity to support you beyond the first year. You don’t necessarily need to show funds covering the full 2–3 years upfront, but your parents (as sponsors) should provide evidence of their ability to continue funding your education when needed.

Showing more funds can strengthen your application, as it clearly demonstrates financial stability and reduces any concerns from the visa officer.

so in summary more money strengthen your application and make sure that money is traced to a business salary investment or long term saving now thats where people have issue

curious how much is your school fees a year ?

side note when you do small research you will know more than this visa agents Eg you mentioned TOC Canada https://www.toccanada.com.ng/ they do not even have the updated POF on their website https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html
Thank you for your response
My tuition for a year is $30,236.

[quote author=ATTAHDYE post=139136248]Congratulations on your admission and all the progress you have made so far.

I will try to address some of the issues you raised

1. What did you study in the US, what have you been doing since 2017 and are they consistent with your proposed program in Canada.

2. Your son being a US citizen means that he can follow you to Canada in a heartbeat without the need for a Canadian visa, this makes him a weak family ties.

Do you have parents, siblings, properties, business and so on that you can use as ties to Nigeria?

As for POF, any lump sum you use must be properly explained such that the VO will be convinced. I believe other will do justice to this for you.

All the best.

I studied health promotions. I have been running a registered business, though I have never filed for taxes. I was planing to use my business account and personal account for the POF as well as other funds that will be sent to my personal account. I have also volunteered at an hospital for about 5 years now. Because I knew I would be needing the health care experience.

My mom is my main sponsor. We have properties and businesses in Nigeria. I wasn't planing to include my son's US citizenship in my application. I was only going to use his Nigerian passport information. I am the last born, and these businesses in Nigeria is not really tied to me.

My last question is this. Can I show the balance tuition for the first year and living expenses on my POF balance. Or I have to show the entire amount for the program including living expenses for 2-3 years.

Thank you so much for your response.

Hello everyone
Please I need advice. I just got accepted into a compressed BSN program in Ontario. I am a single mother, but I am not planing to travel with my son because I intend to use him for my home ties. My son is a US citizen. My first degree is also from a school in the US. I haven't been to the US since I got back to Nigeria after my studies back in 2017. Though my son has been going back and forth.

I did the school application myself without an agent. Now I want to start the process of applying for study permit. I want to pay $10,000 to the school for tuition deposit. The program is for 2-3 years. I can decide to finish in 2 years. The only issue here is I can only get a lump sum for the POF. I have account that are running but the issue is the balance. From what I have read so far it would lead to a denial if I don't have a way to explain the source of the funds. My family is sponsoring me. The issue also is the balance. How will you advise I go about it. I am planing to use Toc Canada, but I want to be very careful before I decide on the agent to use. Please I really need help.
Thank you everyone.
