The container and ro-ro terminal Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) is located in Apapa Nigeria, is the major port used for the city of Lagos. Tin Can Island Port is about seven kilometers due west of the center of Lagos across Lagos Harbor in Nigeria West Coast of Africa.

The Tin Can Island Port terminal was created in 1980’s and opened for international containers ships in 1997. In 91’s the Nigerian Ports Authority became responsible for operating the port terminal as a very important geographic zone for imports in containers to Nigeria. Then Roro (Roll on roll off) Terminal for cars imports to Nigeria was designated as part of the new Tin Can Island Port in 1977, Nigeria is one of the major importer of vehicles in West Africa. Tin Can Island merged with Ro-ro port in 2006 with a private terminal operators, Port and Terminal Multiservices Ltd. (PTML) took over the terminals. Since then, PTML has made efforts to redevelop the terminals.
Tin Can Island Port is the busiest Port in Nigeria for Car imports.
