PoliticsNAIRALAND Says No To Secessionists By Brighto by Brighto1234(op): 9:21am On Nov 02, 2022
Fellow Nairalanders,

Nairaland loves Igbos and Niger Deltans very much. The thought of being separated from them for any reason is unbearable to us, so we have decided that we will reject any attempt by anyone to use Nairaland to promote the idea of removing Igbos and Niger Deltans from Nigeria.

We have updated rule 9 of Nairaland to reflect this decision. It now says:
9. Don't use Nairaland for illegal acts, e.g scams, plagiarism, hacking, gay meetings, incitement, promoting secession.

I'd like to urge all Nairaland members to respect and obey rule 9. Mynd44 is in charge of enforcing it. If you break this rule, you'll be banned.....read more

EducationChrisland School Lekki And The Bane Of Immorality. By brighto1234 by Brighto1234(op): 7:25pm On Oct 25, 2022
Education should be seen as the bedrock of any society but when it becomes encompassed with immoralities and indiscipline, it stops becoming one.
In recent times, Chrisland Schools have been in the news for various unruly behaviour, from a teacher that sodomized a pupil, to an underage pupil that showed her sexual prowess. I decided to investigate pretending to be a teacher. When I was assigned to their school at Lekki, I observed most of the kids aren't discipline and they are touch not. Teachers will be teaching in a class and the students will be ridiculing and playing songs instead of listening. They feel their parents are too wealthy and the school can do nothing to stop them. Although, the school said it has disciplinary measures but it is too weak. In their year 12, I witnessed lesbianism, where another girl put her hands in another's breast until I shouted at her. Perhaps, even though, most of the kids are spoilt, the school isn't doing enough to help. From arrogant vice principals to greedy educators, the school is in a mess. Parents pay millions of naira but I just pity them because the school isn't moulding their character. They are after profit. To parents that have ears, monitor your children well. I am speaking from fact. The school has lost its value. He who has ears, let him hear. A word is enough for the wise......read more
PoliticsPeter Obi's Son Acting - Example Of Failed Parental Influence By Seuntheowner: by Brighto1234(op): 8:22am On Oct 25, 2022

I read online where Obi's supporter are hailing their candidate for allowing his son to pursue his passion in acting abroad. I see this as an example of failed parental influence. How could a billionaire businessman failed to lead his son in the same path he'd followed. Except I missed it, i have read online that he Obi inherited fortune from his own parent but why did he want to change the standard?
I have nothing against his son but the hard-hearted-father.

The path to success for Alexander the Great was laid down by his father Philip of Macedonia, Xerxes the King of Kings becomes great because Darius 1 hand over a prosperous kingdom to him. The Biblical Isaac become great and wealthy because Abraham his father amassed much wealth and hand it over to him. These are few old examples. In recent years....read more
Nairaland GeneralJackie Chan's Daughter Living In Poverty. Spotted Queuing For Free Food. by Brighto1234(op): 11:38pm On Oct 24, 2022

When the father gave all his wealth to Charity and told his son to go hustle for his own money, why wont the daughter queue for free food?

Seriously speaking, I dont like what Jackie did to his children. Denying them their birthright just to appear like a philanthropist was not the best. He could have done a 50-50 split of his wealth between his children and the charity.....read more
HealthSchiostomiasis by Brighto1234(op): 2:41pm On Oct 24, 2022
Schistosomiasis can usually be treated successfully with a short course of a medication called praziquantel, which kills the worms. HealthDiabetes:cure Of Diabetes by Brighto1234(op): 11:19am On Oct 21, 2022
Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. Insulin is a hormone that regulates blood glucose. Hyperglycaemia, also called raised blood glucose or raised blood sugar, is a common effect of uncontrolled diabetes and over time leads to serious damage to many of the body's systems, especially the nerves and blood vessels.

In 2014, 8.5% of adults aged 18 years and older had diabetes. In 2019, diabetes was the direct cause of 1.5 million deaths and 48% of all deaths due to diabetes occurred before the age of 70 years. Another 460 000 kidney disease deaths were caused by diabetes, and raised blood glucose causes around 20% of cardiovascular deaths (1).

Between 2000 and 2019, there was a 3% increase in age-standardized mortality rates from diabetes. In lower-middle-income countries, the mortality rate due to diabetes increased 13%.

By contrast, the probability of dying from any one of the four main noncommunicable diseases (cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases or diabetes) between the ages of 30 and 70 decreased by 22% globally between 2000 and 2019......read more

CultureOgun Culture by Brighto1234(op): 10:15am On Oct 20, 2022
In Yoruba religion, Ogun is a primordial orisha in Yoruba Land. In some traditions, he is said to have cleared a path for the other orisha to enter Earth, using a metal ax and with the assistance of a dog. To commemorate this, one of his praise names, or oriki, is Osin Imole or the "first of the primordial Orisha to come to Earth". He is the god of war and metals.[2][1][3]

In his earthly life Ogun is said to be the first king of Ife. When some of his subjects failed to show respect, Ogun killed them and ultimately himself with his own sword. He disappeared into the earth at a place called Ire-Ekiti, with the promise to help those who call on his name. His followers believe him to have wo ile sun, to have disappeared into the earth's surface instead of dying. Throughout his earthly life, he is thought to have fought for the people of Ire, thus is known also as Onire.[1][2][3]

He is now celebrated in, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo, and Ondo States........read more
