Calibration is how we check our new device is giving accurate readings.

Most glucometers come with the Calibration fluid but not all manufactures usually add them. Accu-chek doesn't add for example.

To Dr John defense Nigerian market for glucometers doesn't usually include calibration fluid for calibration. I only have mine cause the device was brought in from usa and its not the usual accu chek or one touch used here.

For accurate reading also we have been advised that after cleaning your fingers with medicated spirit clean off the first inflow of blood cause the medicated spirit can in some cases affect accurate reading. So swipe and use second inflow of blood on the strip of the glucometer.
