Prisschi: Ezeh, Elder Statesman Calls For Electoral Reforms, Service To People
Chief Gaius Ezeh, an elder statesman has called on the federal government to initiate a process towards reforming the electoral process before the next election.
Ezeh, who is the Chairman “Equity Movement Turn by Turn” made the call in Awkaon Sunday.
He said it had become necessary because a strong electoral system was crucial to good governance.
He called on the Federal Government to pay attention to the growing opinions of critical stakeholders across the country and embark on constructive engagement for greater national good.
According to Ezeh, every good leader is supposed to leave a good legacy behind for which he would be remembered.
“Some people are talking about the National Conference, while others are talking about electoral reforms, I do not see what we are going to do differently in 2027 without these.
“My humble appeal to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is that he should do something serious about electoral reforms.
“It is very important for the survival of this Country,” he said.
Ezeh recalled that Musa President Yaradua was still a hero long after his death because acknowledged faulty system that brought him to power and started a process to correct it.
He said Yar'adua went ahead to address the specific challenges of the various regions including going into the creeks of Niger Delta to pacify and calm down Niger-Delta agitators.
“May his soul continue to rest in peace wherever he is.
“The question our leaders of today should ask themselves is, what do they want to be remembered for after I must have either left office or gone to their maker,” he said. Dead on arrival, anything from The Federal Government, The Inconsequential Eyepobians & Obidients In connivance with their Malu Atikulators up north will reject it, like they rejected the tax reforms proposed by The Federal Government. |

If anyone tries to suspend him, then someone must be bankrolling him. I'm glad the PDP NWC has stated their position.
Nigeria needs a strong opposition party. If not, these crooks in power will deal with this country without giving a hoot! Pdp crooks, only the ignorant things will yen to go back to that dog’s vomit. |

mrksquare: The Local Government Exco do not have the power to suspend a National Assembly member. Neither do they have powers to suspend a National officer as in the case of Secondus and Ayu.
The PDP constitution is very clear on this. The NWC do not need to hold a session to nullify the action of the Local Government Exco that purportedly sacked Ugochinyere. Their action is null and void ab initio. They don’t have the power, but if he cross carpets to APC tomorrow, the Local Government Exco will have the powers to suspend him abi? Bunch of confused Things. |

geewean: You still haven't addressed the substance bog the issue.Does the court order also includes empowering the police to seize his staffs phones as seen in the CCTV camera? Is that the ideal way of police engagement in a democratic situation that Babalola has fought hard through the judiciary system for Nigeria?
An straightforward answer will tell who has allowed sentiments to influence his response here.
At least I never said he should be taken to court but the gang-star like arrest enshrined in the court order which is the new normal according to you is what I need some exegesis on.

leo22: A lawyer arrested another lawyer for libel, does it mean the senior lawyer doesn't trust the judicial system by resorting to use the police to arrest his colleague from one state to another instead of sueing him for a civil case?
Has the senior lawyer not proven by his actions, that the allegations made against are actually correct? If someone accused you of being a thief, and the only way to prove you are not is to steal, what does that prove? The Court will destroy the book, no bookstores within the Federal Republic of Nigeria should carry it, no website operating in Nigeria, including Amazon should offer the book for sale. Until the statements about Afe Babalola are amended, or removed. |

geewean: With all these epistles you have written. You haven't justify anywhere in the law that legitimise the gangster- like manner of arrest by the Ekiti state police as evidenced in the CCTV footage released.Dont say you haven't seen it.I await to hear your justification on that and let's so I will learn a part of the law that empowers the police to invade your premises like bandits and seize both huge phones and all your staff phones.
Mr Law aka Defender Sergio Ramos.I await your lecture on this issue. Your sentiment is not allowing u to think properly, the police had obtained a court order. Go to the court to apply for the certified true copy of the affidavit they swore in the court, before you start with all these your mombo Jumbo. |
