A woman identified as Blessing Eze(Mrs), mother of two have been stabbed to death in Ogun State. The incident occured when some touts began taxing traders over the Eid Mubarak festival of Muslim faithfuls that took place yesterday June 6, 2025, each trader was asked to pay ₦1,500. On getting to Late Mrs Eze, she told them she don't have money as at the time they came, they should come back, as touts they are, they started destroying her goods, which she dragged one of them and asking him to range her goods properly and come back, not that she won't pay but she don't have it as at that time because she have not sold anything. That's how one of them stabbed her on the chest which later led to her death. So today, Igbo Market Union at Ifo market in solidarity and mourning shutdown their business in protest. Saying before this woman's death, they have been experiencing assault and intimidation from those group of touts. They have declared 4 days mourning which Igbo trader will not display goods rather it will be for protest until relevant authorities intervene on the matter especially the State Government. One of the Market member who our correspondence interviewed narrated what happened to his wife last year, when the son of the Baba Loja(market head) Waheed, stabbed his wife and he involved the Nigerian Police, he was advised to drop the case for the sake of his life that the said boy is highly connected and deadly. We implore the State Government of Ogun State to intervene and make sure the perpetrators are brought to book. Festival money shouldn't be by force, it's should have been something of a free will. |
Please kindly answer my question genuinely Is Japa (leaving Nigeria for abroad) a sign of patriotism or betrayal?

King Sunny Ade’s Daughter Raises Alarm Over Father’s Whereabouts, Accuses Manager of Isolation Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, daughter of legendary Nigerian juju musician King Sunny Ade, has raised alarm over her father’s whereabouts, claiming he has been unreachable for weeks. She accused his manager and stepbrother, Dayo Adegeye, of keeping the 78-year-old icon away from his family under suspicious conditions. The matter came to public attention on Monday, April 28, 2025, when media personality @Akanbitheduke shared concerns on Instagram, revealing that efforts by close associates to contact the veteran performer had failed. According to Damilola, the manager has been moving Sunny Ade from one hotel to another, isolating him while allegedly forcing him to continue performing despite his deteriorating health and the recent death of one of his daughters. She also alleged that he is being administered sleeping pills to manage insomnia, further accusing the handlers of expl%iting him financially, denying him access to his home and office, and manipulating his schedule for profit. “The last time I spoke to my dad, he was clearly distr+ssed. Before we could talk, someone took the phone from him. Since then, I haven’t been able to reach him,” she wrote in an emotional social media post. Screenshots of alleged conversations between Damilola, other family members, and the manager have surfaced online, intensifying public concern. However, a close aide of King Sunny Ade dismissed the claims as false, telling Legit.ng that the music legend was spotted in Lagos recently, performing at an event. “We are on top of the situation,” the aide said, but offered no solid proof to ease growing fears |

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has lamented that the wage increase demands being made by organized labour are not realistic. Akume said this in Abuja on Thursday during a meeting with the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN. The former Benue State Governor appealed to the Christian community for support as the tripartite Committee on minimum wage continues with negotiations. According to him, paying a minimum wage of N100,000 to his drivers will be a difficult responsibility. “I can’t afford to pay my driver one hundred thousand because they are four,” Akume lamented. He decried the demands made by the organised labour, adding, “Where do we get that money from?”

The Presidency on Sunday said it was ready to launch about 2,700 CNG-powered buses and tricycles before May 29 when President Bola Tinubu turns one year in office. It said the Federal Government is set to deliver 100 conversion workshops and 60 refuelling sites spread across 18 states before the end of 2024. The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, revealed this in a statement he signed Sunday titled ‘Presidential CNG initiative set for rollout.’ “From the end of May, Nigeria will take some baby steps to join such nations that already have large fleets of CNG vehicles. “All is now ready for delivery of the first set of critical assets for deployment and launch of the CNG initiative ahead of the first anniversary of the Tinubu administration on May 29. “About 2,500 of the tricycles will be ready before May 29, 2024…working towards delivering 200 units before the first anniversary of the Tinubu administration,” said the Presidency. It added that in all, over 600 buses are targeted for production in the first phase which will be accomplished in 2024. In October 2023, about five months after the removal of the petrol subsidy, President Tinubu launched the Presidential CNG Initiative to deliver cheaper, safer and more climate-friendly energy. The CNG Initiative was designed to deliver compressed natural gas, especially for mass transit. The Federal Government earmarked N100bn (part of the N500bn palliative budget) to purchase 5500 CNG vehicles (buses and tricycles), 100 Electric buses and over 20,000 CNG conversion kits, with plans to develop CNG refilling stations and electric charging stations nationwide. The FG had said the initiative would ease the burden of the increased pump price on the masses. “After months of detailed planning and background work, the committee driving the initiative is set to deliver on President Tinubu’s vision and promise,” Onanuga affirmed. Part of Sunday’s announcement was the creation of a new plant on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that will assemble the tricycles while Brilliant EV will assemble electric vehicles when it receives the Semi Knocked Down components. The Presidency explained further, “The SKD parts manufactured by the Chinese company LUOJIA in partnership with its local partner to support the consortium of local suppliers of CNG tricycles are set for shipment to Nigeria and expected to arrive early in May.
