When you think about one of the brave policies Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala pioneered while in office by ensuring publication of government accounts, especially the ECA monthly, and you juxtapose that with what we have today, you sigh and breathe rather irrationally, because of our penchant of going around in circles. We take one step forward and take several backwards. God bless Nigeria |

Honourable Gbajabiamila, please go and re-read this book if you have done so already. Some of us still like and respect your person and what you stand for in the house. You don’t have to lose your reputation over this, and I hope the 9th Assembly will have more members with decent characters and honourable enough to put Nigeria first in whatever they do. |

Ma, if you can read this, I would need a copy of this book, personally signed by you. Would be something to remind me of you and keep me inspired. Something to prepare me for the future, if peradventure I find myself in a position of power and influence. |

Those who should represent us keep sending the message of “all man for himself” back to the street, and we seem to be accepting it as the norm, which is quite sad. During the last economic meltdown, the current Senate would not budge as to the reduction of their planned expenditure. They are never willing to sacrifice despite widespread poverty and under-development. How do we navigate this treacherous bend? Thank you madam NOI for telling it as it is. |

The media should look beyond their agenda sometimes and seek to report their stories objectively; not trying to colour our thoughts and opinions. Kudos to Senator Abaribe for that comment, we need more of such in our overly polarized polity. |

One of the debates this excerpt from Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala book throws up again is the issue of politicians using public funds to seek re-election and fulfilling personal end. There is a clear difference between public servants and public funds. Public funds are owned by all, whether you are in government or not. And it appropriation must be done according to the law in an open and transparent manner. Not for self-seeking of whoever is in power. Let’s read this book and understand some of the truth of why we are where we are as a nation. |

Which of her aides padded budget, which I believe that is what he is trying to say? This is just errant and unfounded allegations. I find it ridiculous. So how will a mere aide pad the budget, which you are yet to give any verifiable evidence to? How will that assist such a fellow in winning elections? English please. |
I will advise us to read this book, especially young folks. It takes a lot of courage to author this kind of book and inform this generation and subsequent ones of the ills of our society, so that we can be prepared and battle ready to save our nation from saboteurs. |

The former minister didn’t use the word bribe in the particular context Gbajabiamila is responding to. Let’s get things in the right perspective. Most of these guys wailing and throwing stones have not read this book. |

Why are these Senators trying to change what she actually wrote in her book? Is it a problem of comprehension or dyslexia like is being alluded in some quarters about Mr. Transmission? |

Good-luck with your stone throwing mission, let see how far you go with this hatchet job you have undertaken. |
How can you ever suggest someone like Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala ranting about her enemies? She handled the episode maturely and came out better for it. If you find yourself in such situation you can go ahead and stoke the fire and bring down the whole structure on yourself like Samson did in the Bible. |
I’m glad Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala seeks strength and motivation from the right channel. What would have become of her if she did otherwise? Despite the mud-slinging and the terrible things that happens in the corridor of power, she still stands tall today; unscathed. Thank God she prayed. |
God answers prayer, doubt that at your own peril. The Divine Being is ever ready to help, but we have a responsibility to ourselves and also to God: to get our acts together and forge a solid path to development, progress and prosperity as a nation. |
Even if you don’t believe in prayers some of us still do. To out-wit these current power-brokers and power-mongers holding our nation to ransom, we need divine intervention. |
She didn’t make herself Coordinating Minister of the Economy, the president did. Her track-record is so over-whelming that the president couldn’t think of a better role for her. But people of vile character and darkened imagination-just like you- were all out to upset the apple cart. Nevertheless, hope is yet rising and we able to see the silver lining yet again. |
Your agenda is very clear from the get-go. You saw a portion of the book, probably on social-media and garbage thoughts started spewing out of your garbage mind. My advice for you: go get the book and read, probably your petty mind can get a kick and perceive a bit of what people like her did and still doing to repair the carnage our nation has become. |
Disparaging and attacking people unjustly won’t get you far I promise you. If you dissipate a measure of the energy you expended on this silly piece to something worthwhile and objective, you won’t be dishing out this vitriol at the whistle of your current pay-masters. You would have out-grown them. |
That she is allowed into such a private meeting tells you how much value the president placed on her and her cordial relationship with the first family. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala made her name ever before she came into public office. She never lobbied for the post, her experience and expertise in global economics made the Obasanjo administration to insist on bringing her on board. And she delivered to the degree the existing political environment at the time allowed. No matter how petty you descend and foul-mouthed you try to be, you’ve got nothing on this woman. |
This same woman you are trying to malign aimlessly is still being reputed the world over; she is still a board member of the Rockerfeller Foundation & Centre for Global Development, senior adviser at Lazard, Head of Gavi and so many other sensitive positions she stills holds that cater to developmental issues in and around the African continent. Our dear nation is in a mess right now, but to get out of it we need more people like her. We need their expertise and a socio-political system that enables them to thrive and bring their lofty ideas to fruition. |
We all believe in the principle of transparency, accountability and rendering of stewardship, and I thought this memo that was assented to by the then President clearly states who is to be responsible for rendering of stewardship of the contentious sum. So, EFCC should stop knocking on the wrong door. You have him in custody already. Please do everything you can and ensure justice is served. |
