37-year-old Nigerian man sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for attempting to meet with a 14-year-old girl in the UK
A Nigerian man, Osakpolor Jimoh, 37, who traveled down from Scotland to meet with a girl he met on the internet who had just turned 14 at Leeds, has been jailed for three years and nine months on five counts including attempting to meet child following sekshual grooming, attempting to incite child to engage in sekshual activity and attempting to cause child to watch sekshual act.
He was arrested in Leeds Rail Station on October 24, 2022, after booking a two-night stay at a hotel. A sentencing hearing at Leeds Crown Court heard that Jimoh, of Clovenstone Park, Edinburgh, had added the decoy profile as a Facebook friend back in May.
After striking up a conversation with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, he claimed he was 19, and asked if she had a boyfriend. He then told her she was “beautiful” and suggested the two have a “secret relationship”, before the conversation moved over to WhatsApp.
He soon asked her questions about her body and her sekshual experience.
He then sent her p%rnogr@phic videos of himself, and became “aggre**ive” with her, as she would not send him explic!t photos of herself, telling her she should “keep her man happy”. He also insisted the girl refer to him as “daddy”.
After arranging to meet who he thought was the girl, he was caught in Leeds Rail Station, and was found to have c**ondoms and lollipops with him.
When he was questioned by police, Jimoh admitted he communicated with the profile, but claimed it was more like a “father-daughter” relationship.
However, mitigating for Jimoh, Robin Frieze told the court: These are serious offences and the defendant is very sorry. This is the first time he has ever been in prison – he has found being in there very stressful.” He added that, while Jimoh was living in Edinburgh, he had cleaned on a voluntary basis for the local community “to keep himself occupied”. Recorder Mark McKome subsequently sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison.
yashika2023: In the ever-evolving landscape of communication technology, the terms "full duplex" and "half duplex" are crucial concepts that play a fundamental role in determining how data is transmitted across networks. Whether you're engaged in a video call, browsing the web, or streaming content, understanding the differences between full duplex and half duplex is essential for optimizing communication efficiency. This article aims to untangle the web of these two communication modes, shedding light on their characteristics, applications, and the advantages they offer.
Defining Full Duplex and Half Duplex: Before delving into the comparison, it's crucial to establish a clear understanding of what full duplex and half duplex mean.
1. Full Duplex: a) In a full-duplex communication system, data can be transmitted in both directions simultaneously. b) This bidirectional communication allows for real-time and continuous exchange of information. c) Examples of full-duplex communication include traditional phone calls and modern video conferencing.
2. Half Duplex: a) In a half-duplex communication system, data can be transmitted in only one direction at a time. b) Participants take turns sending and receiving data, creating a half-duplex flow of information. c) Walkie-talkies and traditional radio broadcasts are common examples of half-duplex communication.
Comparing Characteristics: Now, let's delve into a detailed comparison of full duplex and half duplex based on various characteristics:
1. Simultaneity of Transmission: a) Full Duplex: Simultaneous transmission in both directions. b) Half Duplex: Unidirectional transmission at any given moment.
2. Efficiency and Throughput: a) Full Duplex: Offers higher throughput and efficiency due to simultaneous communication. b) Half Duplex: Typically has lower throughput as participants must take turns.
3. Application Scenarios: a) Full Duplex: Ideal for applications requiring real-time, continuous communication, such as video conferencing and voice calls. b) Half Duplex: Suited for scenarios where real-time simultaneous communication is not critical, like traditional radio broadcasts.
4. Duplexing Technologies: a) Full Duplex: Achieved through technologies like Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) or Time Division Duplexing (TDD). b) Half Duplex: Utilizes simpler technologies where devices alternate between sending and receiving, like Frequency Shift Keying (FSK).
5. Complexity and Cost: a) Full Duplex: Generally involves more sophisticated hardware and software, potentially leading to higher costs. b) Half Duplex: Simpler in design, often resulting in lower costs.
Conclusion: In the intricate web of communication technologies, understanding the distinctions between full duplex and half duplex is vital for optimizing the efficiency of data transmission. While full duplex excels in scenarios demanding simultaneous bidirectional communication, half duplex finds its niche in applications where a turn-taking approach is sufficient. Ultimately, the choice between full duplex and half duplex depends on the specific requirements of the communication system. As technology continues to advance, untangling the web of these duplexing modes remains a critical aspect of enhancing connectivity and communication across diverse platforms.

Photos of 24-year-old Kano housewife, Hafsat Sirajo, with Nafiu Hafiz Gorondo, who she stabbed to death, have surfaced on the internet. According to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Usaini Gumel, Hafsat confessed to singlehandedly committing the crime by stabbing Nafiu several times with a knife after he allegedly tried to stop her from committing suicide. The police commissioner said her husband, Dayyabu AAbdullahi, 38, and their guard (Maigadi) Malam Adam 65, were also arrested for aiding and concealing the dead body to cover up the offence of culpable homicide. Her face covered with a veil, Hafsat told newsmen that the deceased who stayed with the couple tried to stop her from killing herself and confiscated a knife from her hand.”I had a small cut on my hand and he asked me to go and change my clothes. Coming out from the bathroom I saw him laying down and I grabbed the knife and stabbed him severally, she said. The husband of the suspect Dayyabu Abdullahi said he personally called relatives of the deceased in Bauchi to break the news. “I called his parents in Bauchi to tell them that Nasiru has died. And Baba here suggested that we should wash the dead body. Dayyabu said. In the meantime, the father of the deceased, Malam Hafizu Gorondo, is suspicious that the couple might have conspired to kill his son because of some outstanding monies Dayyabu owed his son. He said his son had told him of the failure of Dayyabu who was also his business partner to repay him an outstanding loan of a N25m. Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement on Sunday, December 24, said more details on the incident would be revealed after the investigation.

chymer: In a poignant response to Nollywood actor Emeka Ike's recent denial of allegations of domestic violence, Suzanne Emma, his estranged wife, has stepped forward to share her side of the story.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Emma refuted Ike's claims that her accusations were false and had caused significant losses for him.
Setting the record straight, Emma revealed that the specter of abuse loomed large over their 17-year marriage. She recounted a harrowing incident that unfolded in a hospital, a moment of vulnerability when their child was gravely ill.
Emma described how Ike's verbal tirade escalated into physical violence during a critical time.
“There was a time we went to the hospital; my child was sick. We didn’t have money. And I was trying to negotiate with the hospital to treat the child, and we would pay later. It was taking a little bit of time, and he [Emeka Ike] just came in and started yelling at me, ‘You’re a fool. You don’t know how to do things. What’s all this? You can’t even talk to them. Who are they? They’re beneath you, and you’re allowing them to do this and all that.’
Former CBN Governor Emefiele Freed From Kuje Facility.
Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has been released from the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja after meeting his bail conditions.
The development was confirmed on Saturday by Adamu Duza, spokesperson for the correctional facility, stating that Emefiele was released on Friday, December 22.
Emefiele, who served as CBN chief from 2014 to 2023, was arrested in June by the Department of State Services (DSS), the day after he was suspended as CBN governor by President Bola Tinubu.
He has since remained in custody and was later arraigned on a 20-count charge of procurement fraud.
The charges were later reduced to one, accusing him of awarding a contract for the purchase of 43 vehicles worth N1.2 billion to a female employee of CBN and her company.
Emefiele was also charged alongside Sa’adatu Yaro, a female employee of CBN, and her company, April 1616 Investment.
Following his plea of “not guilty,” Emefiele was remanded in the Kuje correctional facility in November pending a ruling on his bail application.
On Wednesday, November 22, a federal capital territory high court granted him bail in the sum of N300 million, with strict conditions including two sureties with property within the Maitama district of Abuja.
Emefiele’s release comes amidst ongoing investigations into his tenure at the CBN, where he was accused of operating 593 bank accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom, and China, where Nigerian funds were allegedly kept without authorization by the CBN’s Board and Investment Committee.
According to a report by Jim Obazee, a special investigator appointed by the president, billions of naira were allegedly stolen from the CBN’s accounts by Emefiele and other officials, including a “fraudulent cash withdrawal of $6.23 million” just before the 2023 elections.
“The former governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele, invested Nigeria’s money without authorization in 593 foreign bank accounts in the United States, China and the United Kingdom while he was in charge,” the report said.
“All the accounts where the billions were lodged have all been traced by the investigator.”
The investigation report stated that in the United Kingdom, 543.4 million pounds were kept by Emefiele in fixed deposit accounts, noting that Emefiele manipulated the Naira exchange rate and committed fraud in the CBN’s e-Naira project.
It also disclosed the embezzlement of $6.23 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s vault between February 7 and 8, just two weeks before the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The funds were reportedly released under the pretext of presidential approval for payments to foreign election observers.
