thisweekng: Renowned Pastor Abel Damina expressed a firm stance against the practice of collecting January’s salary as a first fruit in a recent sermon. The pastor, addressing congregants, declared, “As long as I live in this church, nobody will collect your salary because January salary is not first fruit.“
In his impassioned address, Pastor Damina challenged the conventional notion that January holds a unique spiritual significance. He stated, “There is no January in the spirit, there is nothing special about January. God is not aware that January has come, so why are they collecting your salary in January? We do not observe this. We do not observe months; why your January salary?“
The pastor’s remarks question the basis for singling out January for financial offerings, emphasizing that the spiritual realm does not recognize specific months. Damina continued, highlighting the inconsistency in attributing special significance to January when other months go unnoticed in such practices.
Moreover, Pastor Damina emphasized the essence of first fruits, asserting, “The first fruit is not money, the first fruit is Jesus.” This statement challenges the traditional understanding of first fruits as a monetary offering, redirecting focus towards a more spiritual interpretation centered around Jesus Christ.
As the pastor addressed the congregation, he conveyed his commitment to protecting his church members from the customary collection of January salaries. His perspective brings attention to the need for a deeper understanding of spiritual practices and challenges the routine adherence to traditional beliefs without critical examination.
Pastor Abel Damina’s strong stance against collecting January salary as a first fruit reflects a deeper contemplation on spiritual practices.
My brother this is what I noticed when I bought my own rice 25kg.
The rice was looking far smaller that usual and the bag was resealed.
Look at the sealing, if it was done more than once, it means your rice was reduced. The problem with my own was that I told someone to buy it for me. And I really trust the person and know he won't do something like that.
So it's definitely from the dealers. They would open the rice, take out some de Rica cups and reseal it back. The cups they've taken would be used to form another bag.
Nigerians are seriously greedy. I haven't even opened the bag yet and it's already looking like half.

Visblog: The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, has urged Nigerian youths to seek demonstrable skills as a means of survival, warning that very soon university degrees will no longer be the sole guarantors of jobs.
Oloyede said this on Thursday at Kwara State University, Malete, while delivering the convocation lecture, titled “Learning, Unlearning, and Relearning -Prerequisites of the Digital Age.”
According to him, “new opportunities will emerge in the high-tech sector, and many skills that were not otherwise taught in conventional schools would be needed. Degrees would no longer be the sole guarantee of jobs, but demonstrable skills would.
“In this regard, there won’t be meaningful difference between the literates and the illiterates without the cutting-edge skills that are associated with the triad – learning, unlearning, and relearning.”
He also said that the imperative of the triad in life cannot be overemphasized as the tonic that gives vitality to successful living in today’s information age.
He explained: “Those who can learn, unlearn, and relearn are the successful ones, and those without the mindset that accommodates the triad are bound to perpetually lament.”
He also said that the world of today is different from the stone age, stressing that “one of the factors responsible for this change is the totality of what makes the information age, which is still evolving as technology develops rapidly.”
He further said that the dynamism of the world provides new opportunities and threats, adding that while there are new opportunities in information technology, the existing jobs as typists, receptionists, traditional printers, telephone booth operators, computer operators, factory workers, cashiers, travel agents, and fuel attendants, among others, are on the verge of extinction.

Good day to all reputable peoples here. Forgive me of this my lengthy write up but I'm here to seek advice on how to go about the ugly situation I found myself in. In relation to the link I posted up, I contact the seller of the said phone in order to get the phone as the current one I was using had started malfunctioning ever since I changed the screen month ago. The seller is located at Ado-ekiti as he said while I'm based in Ibadan, after agreeing on price as he said he needed the money urgently for his children school fees, I asked of how to go about payment and delivery, he said I'll have to pay first which I didn't agree to, I suggest we make use of a reputable nairalander as an escrow which he didn't subscribe to. I didn't follow up again as that was a red flag for me, he claimed to be honest that he didn't need an escrow for his service. Just last weekend, we got back to talking when he questioned about how I won't run off with the phone without paying, I told him that it won't be the first time I'll be getting things online, he asked me for any means of identification which I told him I have none as I'm just seeking admission to UI and my workplace doesn't have one but I provided him my NIN. He later told me that (omo ìyá mi ni e -i.e I'm also his kin being a Yoruba boy). He agreed to send the phone after which I'll pay 45k outta the 60k we agreed on, I'll balance him later. We talked more on where to deliver it to when he made mention of iworoad, gate etc that he do frequent Ibadan that it's just because of his work hence he would have made the delivery himself, he asked of my details. On Tuesday , yesterday., He called me in the morning that he'll be taking the package together with him to the motor park on his way to work, and I told him I will transfer the money as soon as I get to work using a colleague phone as I had to sell my phone to add to the money since the phone is becoming more faulty. Around 10am, I called him, he said I should give him an hour that he couldn't went to the park again that he'll be in an hour time,. This is where I made the foolish mistake of sending him the 45k cos I'd believe him to be legit as per say we relate well together being of the same tribe. He called me back around midday to tell me that he'd got to the park and made the delivery that I may even get it before the day end. I called him back at to ask of the driver's number but he didn't pick up and the number had been switched off since. It went through today on way back home from work around 7pm which wasn't picked also but not going through anymore.
I know I messed up a big time sending money to an unknown person whose only number and account details I know of as he uses a zenith bank account. I've gotten items from unknown person on NL without knowing them, Jboixxx on the phone section from far Taraba is someone I've never seen, I only send him money and sleep, I'm sure I'll get the delivery, I paid 180k for a phone I got for someone from Meister without ever knowing him, the phone I was using before was gotten from saint2ace and he delivered. Please 🙏 how do I go about the situation and get the money back? It's my last fund, I don't have any phone on me to even check my admission status as it's speculated that UI will release cut off marks this week. I'm thinking of going to report to police station but the amount I may incur tagging the police will be much or file a report against the account at a zenith bank branch here. Pls, I need help, his contact info is 09159728821 I'll post his account details and chats once I get a phone to access my backed up files
