I then asked him, what is the percentage charge in calculating duty? To which he replied that he will have to check.

This is good advice. Choice sake almost certainly means Speedaf will be responsible for it's logistics. This doesn't just save you from customs stress, it also speedily gets to you.

What are the chances that a particular phone you need will be a choice sale?

A $70 phone attracting such sum is ridiculous.
So me that's planning to buy a phone worth almost $300 should just forget it.

Not sure theft is one of them

He received a delivery message even though his package wasn't delivered, it is not totally illogical to reach the same conclusions he did.
It was careless and unprofessional to deliver his package to someone else without informing him.

The trick is use UBA cards strictly for transactions $50 and less. Didn't think anyone will consider using it for larger transactions.

With Uba card
That's $300 - $20 discount = $280 * 1585 = ₦443,800

With GTB
That's $300 * 1485 = ₦445,500

The difference of ₦1,700 is inconsequential to me. On the surface it looks like a steal but they are using rate padding to offset the discount they are giving you.

Do your findings properly before venturing into it. Their card maintenance fee is usually very high, and is normally deducted from subscribers account before they're allowed to do any transaction with the card.

In 2022, the fee was around $18. I believe it'd have gone up by now.

I've used the normal UBA MasterCard in the past and I never paid a maintenance fee. Is this a different type of card?

Just download the bybit app and apply for their master card. Did the registration in one day and got a virtual dollar master card. Requires no fees.
Ps: You might need to use a VPN when filling the online form for the card. For some reason Nigerian ISP blocks that card form registration link.

I use bybit virtual card. Fund it by buying usdt at a very cheaper rate. 1,654 per USD. Although it fluctuates. No card charges. In fact I still get discount by using the card.
