Benny Hinn renounces prosperity gospel, says ‘Holy Ghost is just fed up with it. By Leonardo Blair ,Christian Post Reporter Declaring that the “Holy Ghost is just fed up with it,” controversial televangelist Benny Hinn, formerly one of the most aggressive proponents of the prosperity gospel, has for the first time in his career, delivered a full-throated rejection of the practice that made him and his family millions. The prosperity gospel teaches, among other things, that believers have a right to the blessings of health and wealth, and they can obtain these blessings through positive confessions of faith and the "sowing of seeds" through the faithful payments of tithes and offerings. Speaking to his followers during a Facebook Live broadcast on Monday night (which was first highlighted by Larry Reid Live), Hinn, who has long been a lightning rod for criticism for his support of the theology, declared the Gospel “is not for sale.” “I’m sorry to say that prosperity has gone a little crazy and I’m correcting my own theology and you need to all know it. Because when I read the Bible now, I don’t see the Bible in the same eyes I saw 20 years ago,” Hinn said as his followers rejoiced. “I think it’s an offense to the Lord, it’s an offense to say give $1,000. I think it’s an offense to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the Gospel. I’m done with it. I will never again ask you to give $1,000 or whatever amount, because I think the Holy Ghost is just fed up with it. “Did you hear me?” Hinn asked as his audience responded affirmatively in high spirits. “I think it hurts the Gospel, so I’m making this statement for the first time in my life and frankly, I don’t care what people think about me anymore,” he continued.

Immediate-past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, his wife Nneoma and daughter, are set to forfeit assets to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Head of the Enugu Zonal Office of the commission, Usman Imam, made the disclosure on Wednesday in Enugu while speaking with journalists. According to Imam, the EFCC had also obtained a court order on a property traced to a former aide to Okorocha, Paschal Obi, and the former governor’s daughter. He said that the commission had established prima facie cases against the suspects, which they would answer to. Imam said that the commission would like to know how the Rochas Foundation and “other accomplices” acquired and or converted some of the property for personal use. He listed some of the property to include a 16-block 96-flat structure and an eight-bungalow multimillion naira estate, hotel, two schools, shopping plaza, supermarket, hospital and four vehicles. He said, “We hope to get permanent forfeiture orders on the property in order to return them to the people of the state.” http://saharareporters.com/2019/09/04/former-imo-governor-okorocha-wife-forfeit-assets-efcc |
Katsina – Angry youths have razed the private residence of the Secretary to Katsina State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa and the APC office in Danmusa Local government area of Katsina State. The Youths were said to be protesting what they described as complicity by the SGS in the alleged spate of armed banditry attacks in Danmusa LGA and other areas in the central and southern part of the state. The Protest was sparked when traders who were returning from the Danmusa market were ambushed by armed bandits at the outskirts of the town which led to the death of one of the traders. A source told Daily Independent that, no sooner had the news of the deceased filtered into town, about one thousand youths from the town mobilized to the scene of the crisis and took the body of the deceased to the District head’s palace who fled on sighting the protesters. The source added that the action of the District head further aggravated the annoyance of the tensed youths who turned violent and marched to the country home of the SGS and set it ablaze. “From there they proceeded to the APC office in Danmusa which they also burnt chanting various slogans to register their dissatisfaction with the way and manner the insecurity issues were being handled in the state. Attempts to reach the state Police command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, however, proved abortive as calls made to him were neither answered nor returned. It would be recalled that at least not more than twenty villages have been overrun by armed bandits in Katsina state in the last one month. https://www.independent.ng/angry-youths-burn-sgss-house-apc-office-in-katsina/amp/ |

‘International community has rejected BUHARI PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan Success Nwogu, Abuja The Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday said the international community has rejected President Muhammadu Buhari. It stated that the claim was confirmed by the perceived disgraceful outing and poor attention allegedly given to Buhari by world leaders and investors at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development. The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement said the lack of attention given to Buhari in Tokyo confirmed his alleged rejection by the international community. He said Buhari only came home with an empty basket and pocket full of promissory notes. Ologbondiyan said, “The conference has shown that no world leader or international investors want to do any real business with Nigeria under President Buhari, mainly because of the legitimacy burden of his presidency arising from the rigging of the February 23 presidential election, as well as overt impunity, corruption, treasury looting and recklessness that pervade his administration. “It is lamentable that while President Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress are celebrating a mere pledge of $300,000 (N108m) from the Japanese Prime Minister and a promissory note for E50m from an EU commissioner, his Ghanaian counterpart, Nana Akufo-Ado, sealed a deal with automobile giant, Toyota, to immediately establish a Toyota and Suzuki manufacturing plant in Ghana with a determined timeline of August 2020 for production. “The multinational had also signed a deal to establish a similar plant in neighbouring Ivory Coast with a Memorandum of Understanding to that effect already signed last Thursday.” According to him, Toyota preferred Ghana because of the favourable economic climate prevailing in the country; a climate, which, he stated, had taken flight from Nigeria under Buhari. In another statement, Ologbodiyan said Buhari had abdicated his responsibilities as the President of Nigeria. He said, “The PDP notes with dismay that the Buhari presidency only stops at issuing condemnations, publishing commiserations and embarking on condolence visits with empty assurances, but takes no definite steps to address the situation and bring culprits to book. “This complete failure of leadership and abdication of the statutory duties of the President indicates that the Buhari presidency has no solutions towards ensuring the security of lives and property in our nation.”

Some years back, after a Sunday morning Mass in Abuja, a young and a good looking lady walked up to me. She was holding a fat brown envelope. She handed the envelope to me and said I should please pray for her. I asked her about the content of the envelope and what particular intention would I be praying for? She told me that she started working just a month ago and that she came to thank the Lord and to offer the first fruit of her work for God’s blessings. What was in the envelope was her salary for that month. Her first salary. The entire money! Everything!. In all honesty, I was speechless not for lack of words but for being unable to know where to begin. Inside me I was like: do people still entrust everything they have to God in a child-like simplicity like this? I was really moved. In my heart, I said a prayer for her, that type of prayer that is deep down, it was as though it was the Holy Spirit Himself that was praying through me. I was feeling the answers to the prayers even before I finished praying. Then she knelt down, I laid my hands upon her and blessed her and the money. After prayers, I asked her to tell me how much was in the envelope. She said Eighty Thousand Naira. Then I asked, “how much covers your transport to your work daily?”. She said “approximately N1,000 naira to and fro, Father.” That means for 27 work days, it would be N27,000. Then I spoke up again, “Sorry o, I am asking you too many questions, how much do you feed daily when you go to work?”. She answered “It depends. If I want to eat so well, I spend 800 naira with drinks, but mainly I spend just N500, and sometimes I carry food from home.” So, I made the calculation in my head. Let say she spends 500 naira daily, 27 work days would be 13,500 naira. I went ahead to enquire about her accommodation and I discovered that she stayed alone in an apartment she just rented. We made the calculation by dividing the annual rent by 12 months and we discovered that if she was to pay rent monthly, it would be N12,500. Her monthly electricity and water bill with other fees for house maintenance was put at N10,000....On phone calls and data, we approximated it to be N5000 monthly. Her monthly DSTV subscription was around N3,600 for DSTV family bouquet. When you put all the expenses together and subtract it from the N80,000, she would be left with N8,400 to buy food stuffs and other things in the house. These are the expenses that she wss sure to spend every month. We had not even talked about other things like make up, doing her hair, clothes, gifts to family and even savings. This is a huge sacrifice, in my judgement. I intentionally asked her those questions so as to ascertain the depth of her sacrifice. I brought out the envelope, bless it for the second time and gave it to her. I looked at her countenance and I knew she was not too comfortable with my action. Then I took time to explain the Bible to her. That was when I discovered that so many people do not truly understand how God works. When God asks us for first fruit or for tithe or for any sacrifice, it is not so that He will eat it. No! He has no need of our money. When He asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, it was not because he liked seeing the blood of innocent children. When He asked Abel and Cain to make a sacrifice to Him, it was not because he ate fruit or even drank blood of rams. It is simply to test how committed we are, how willing are we to leave everything to Him. Do we, like Cain, select offerings that we no longer desire and give to Him or do we, like Abel, empty everything to Him? This lady that brought the first fruit began to understand for the first time. Right from when she put the money in the envelope to bring to God, God had already accepted her offering. The minister must not spend the money. It is just that most of us ministers are unfortunately greedy. And we use God’s name to cover it up. We often see the part of scriptures that favour our stomach.* Theologically, when you give to God, He transforms that gift and gives it back to you. The bread and wine people offer before mass are transformed to the body and blood of Christ and given back to the people to eat and drink. The son Isaac that Abraham gave to God, was transformed to be a channel that would bring....forth the fulfillment of God’s promise and given back to Abraham. The offerings of bread and fish people brought were prayed upon and given back to them to eat and they were filled, still there was left over. The water they filled at the wedding in Cana is given back to them as wine.. The Ugwu Kelvin that my parents offered to God, is given back to them as a priest. The money that the young lady brought to me as her first fruit is blessed and given back to her as pure gift from heaven. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10220708468680497&id=1199905702

Buhari SO Incompetent - Aisha Yesufu has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari is incompetent following his inability to curb insecurity in the country, Concise News reports. This news medium learned that Aisha who is the Co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls, (BBOG) advocacy group described Buhari clueless and inept, also. She spoke following the kidnap of three Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) students along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway on Tuesday. In a video she posted on social media, Thursday, she said: “When we say Mohammadu Buhari is incompetent, clueless and inept we are not insulting him. We are just saying it as it is. “As the President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari has been incompetent, clueless, inept and a failure. “The state of security today is heartbreaking. Did you hear of the ABU University students that were kidnapped? “They should have been your children; they should have been you. Parents had to pay the ransom and they are back. “I watched the video of one of the girls that were returned, she was crying. But do you know something? “They (kidnappers) didn’t ask if the incompetent Muhammadu Buhari was her (one of the victims) president; they didn’t ask if she was APC, PDP, or whatever; they didn’t ask if she was from the north, south or other parts of the country. they didn’t ask whether she was a Christian or Muslim; or what tribe she was. “They took her along other fellow students and other people. What about those who have not been able to pay the ransom? “Is this how we are going to live our lives in the country? is this what we are going to continue to do? To look away and support this incompetence we have? “No! It’s not doable. As long as one of us is not safe, all of us are not safe. the saddest thing is that this victim’s card is going from place to the other. it’s going around and the only god knows on whom it will fall.” She added: “I’ll continue to repeat that yesterday’s victims were once survivals and today’s victims were yesterday’s survivals and tomorrow’s victims were today’s survivals. “Let me tell you something, in Nigeria’s today, being a victim is no longer a matter of if , its a matter of when.” |
Prof. Chidi Odinkalu The former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission [NHRC], Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has berated the Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa over her statement on Nigerians indicted for fraud in the United States, saying that her statement “is impressively silly”. Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa has asked Nigerians indicted in the massive email fraud and money laundering scandal in to turn themselves in voluntarily or be extradited to face judgement. She expressed sadness over the development in a statement but, nonetheless, expressed hope that they would be given fair hearing during trial. She stated: “We acknowledge the fact that accusation does not mean guilt, and we hope that all the accused will be given fair and speedy trial. “We also ask those accused in Nigeria to voluntarily turn themselves in, to American authorities to clear their names, without which the Nigerian government would extradite them if relevant international treaties between the two governments are invoked.” Read more: FBI Fraud Saga: FG Asks Indicted Nigerians To Surrender Or Be Extradited Reacting to the statement, Prof. Odinkalu, beyond saying that the statement “is impressively silly”, reminded Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa that “running govt is more than inane press statements”. Odinkalu proffered that when citizens are subject to foreign legal process, they are entitled to consular assistance which is the 1st thing. ‘You don’t dump them under a bus,’ he stressed. The statement reads: “With profound respect, this statement from Nigerians in Diaspora Commission [NIDCOM] is impressively silly. Running govt is more than inane press statements. “When your citizens are subject to foreign legal process, they are entitled to consular assistance. That is the 1st thing – u don’t dump them under a bus. “The obligation of diplomatic protection is the most important element in citizenship. It is sovereign duty. “When citizens are under legal process overseas, the duty to exercise that lies with the foreign Minister, in this case Geoffrey Onyeama, who is now back in office. “So, Nigeria now has a Foreign Minister in place. There is also an Ambassador in DC.” Odinkalu further reminded Dabiri-Erewa NIDCOM is no substitute for Geoffrey Onyeama as foreign minister nor is it in competition with him. The Commission will take its bearing from the Foreign Minister. He said: “No one has asked basic questions – has the consulate in DC made any contact with the suspects? Has any consular facility been extended to them? Has the consulate reported back to the Foreign Ministry? “Rather than ensure proper process, NIDCOM indulges in Pontius Pilatism.” On the responsibilities of the Nigerian nation on its citizens, he noted: “A country is more than the collection of its parts. There are fundamental obligations that come with being sovereign. “It’s easy to claim Chimamanda and Chinua Achebe. It is more ennobling to stand up for the legal entitlements of your citizens even in tough times.” While a Foreign Minister was yet to be appointed, Odinkalu said that NIDCOM could be forgiven for getting ahead of itself. “Now that we have one, it needs to be reminded and to understand its mandate doesn’t extend to conduct of foreign policy or lead multilateral treat implementation,” he concluded. |
Taraba Killings Shocker: How Army Capt Deployed Local Welder To Destroy Hand & Leg Cuff On Wadume & Freed Him ElombahNews ElombahNews 10 hours ago More revelations have emerged regarding how the police officers from the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT), were killed by soldiers in Taraba State on August 6. Sun correspondent gathered authoritatively of how the Commanding Officer of 93 Battalion Ibi, Captain Balarabe Tijani, employed the services of a welder in the community to destroy the hand and leg cuffs on Hamisu Bala Wadume, before setting him free. The captain who is said to have been interrogated by the panel from Defence Headquarters (DHQ), was said to have resorted to using a welder to remove the leg and hand cuffs from his friend after the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in charge of Ibi command, Aondona Augustine Iorbee, whom he contacted for the keys told him he didn’t have them. Top police sources told Sun correspondent in Abuja that aside seeking for the keys from the DCO, the Captain Tijani, also contacted the station’s Crime Officer, Inspector Aliyu Dadje, who also said he did not have the keys. According to the sources who did not want to be mentioned, the hand and leg cuffs were actually destroyed in the house of the captain where he took the kidnap kingpin to after rescuing him from the IRT operatives. It was gathered that after shooting and killing some of the detectives, they were all moved to the military base in the town alongside the kidnapped kingpin before he was eventually moved to the house of the Commanding Officer. Police sources said all the team members of the IRT, could have been killed but for the timely arrival of some police officers from the office of Area Commander as well as some senior army officers who arrived at the military base on time. It was also gathered that if the wounded officers had got medical attention on time, the death toll recorded could have been minimal as the deceased were said to be alive at the time they were taken to the military base. According to the source, “what happened was that the captain actually wanted to kill all the team members and destroy all the evidence in the case. “After the shooting, they carried all the bodies and the wounded to their base and even wanted to kill those that were still alive but at that point, the news had filtered into the police and the IGP, directed the Area Commander to go to the Army base and so he arrived there with some army officers just on time otherwise everybody would have been wiped out.” “The source said “the captain didn’t just stop there because after the killing, he then took Wadume his friend to his house and sought for the keys from both the DPO who was on leave and Crime Officer who didn’t have that; that was when he contacted the welder. “The DPO happens to be a very good friend of the captain and they live in the same neighbourhood. After destroying the leg and handcuff, the captain proceeded to destroy other major evidence that could link him to the crime. “First, he called the station Crime Officer, Inspector Aliyu Dadje, who is now in police custody and ordered him to go and destroy every evidence comprising the record of the official booking of the IRT guys to create an impression that they came for the operation without booking. “The crime officer who is being interrogated, told detectives of how he was threatened by the captain who said if he did not do it, he would be killed. So he went and tore the page where the entry was made on the routine diary. But because they had shed innocent blood, they were not able to destroy everything as police detectives have recovered all those things. “Fortunately, there were other evidence of their arrival documented in the policy file. “The bodies were released to the Area Crime Officer in Wukari “When they took them to their base, the captain wanted the ones that were alive to be killed. But the intervention of some other good officers and the arrival of senior officers from the area commander office made it impossible for him to do that. “After that, he took Wadume to his personal house. The DCO and captain are friends and neighbours; it is just a fence that separates them. “He was interested in releasing the guy but failed to cover up. “He could have wasted everybody if not for that timely intervention.” It was gathered that if the wounded officers were taken to hospital they would have survived as some of them were said to have been alive at the time they were taken to the military base. It was gathered that the two police officers who have since been arrested are being investigated for post-incident roles particularly for the administrative action and inaction they took after the killings by the soldiers. They were said to have made a confessional statement on their role in the brutal killings. When contacted, Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba said: “I am not the spokesperson for the probe panel,” and directed the reporter to contact the panel for clarification on the matter. Meanwhile, more army and police officers who have been interrogated by the probe panel from the Defence Headquarters are said to have made very useful confessional statement as to how the incident happened. The panel is expected to submit its report to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Gabriel Olonisakin, who would, in turn, present it to President Muhammadu Buhari, who ordered for an investigation into the matter. |

British Parliamentary Democracy Theresa May went to Queen Elizabeth to tender her resignation. Queen accepted and asked her who would take over as PM. Theresa May informed the Queen that her party (conservative party) has elected a new party leader (an MP) who would become the PM. His name is Boris Johnson. Queen thanked her and sent for Boris Johnson. Boris Johnson came, Queen asked him to go and form a government. Boris Johnson accepted and instantly became the Prime minister of Great Britain. Subsequently, Boris Johnson announced his cabinet. The whole process happened under 2 hours. No budget, no expenditure, No swearing-in ceremony. No dancing, no merriment. Compare the above to the swearing-in ceremony of a Nigerian president. Swearing-in ceremony in Nigeria takes months to organise. Millions of dollars will be budgeted and pocketed by government officials. Britain is the fifth richest country in the world, they chose to spend nothing during change of government. Nigeria has one of the poorest people in the world, they chose to spend millions of dollars during change of government. Someone said to me that there's something wrong with black Africans. I said NO, after all there's Rwanda. The problem with Nigeria is that hooligans are in power.

*NIGERIA’s DEMOCRACY, INEC & ELECTION IT SERVERS* In computing, a server is a computer program or a device that provides functionality for other programs or devices, called "clients". Nigeria’s Democracy cannot thrive if we continue to embrace dishonesty, lawlessness and incredulous practices as a nation. There is no doubt to even the blind that Nigeria’s electoral system is grossly marred with so much irregularities, opaqueness, corrupt people and weak institutions. This ugly situation is compounded with the obvious lack of commitment to bring those who serially rub us the opportunities to experience free, fair and credible electoral processes to justice. Yesterday some folks were at the receiving ends of this serial electoral mess, today some others who had the opportunities to correct this menace in the past are crying aloof, tomorrow it could be you We certainly cannot continue like this and blindly expect any meaningful sustainable development as a nation. Nigeria does not need strong individuals (men and women) but strong institutions. It is my honest view that the entire 3 tiers of government in Nigeria (the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary) all pay lip services to the execution of the needed reforms, corrective legislations and delivery of justice and rule of law which are required to effectively weed out this ugly menace with resultant transformations for our country henceforth. This is a multiple jeopardy and it is indeed sad. Now coming to the issue of the 2019 Presidential Election; whereas I have congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR (APC) and the declared winner of the 2019 Presidential Election by INEC as a patriotic citizen, it is only fair and lawful that his main challenger in the person of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his political party (PDP) are allowed access to inspect the IT infrastructures (Servers, Ballot Papers and Result Sheets) allegedly used in transmitting and collation of the Presidential election results. This is common sense! My question remains as follows: 1. Does INEC actually has IT Servers? Yes or No. 2. If Yes, did they (INEC) plan to use it for the purposes of conducting the 2019 elections? 3. Did they (INEC) actually use it for the purposes of transmitting and collating the 2019 Presidential election results? 4A. If they (INEC) have IT Servers but did not use it for the purposes of the elections, then why not? 4B. At what point did they (INEC) communicate their inability to use the IT Servers to conduct the elections to other critical stakeholders; Political Parties, Candidates, Electoral Observers, etc? 5. If they (INEC) have IT Servers but used it for election then why can’t the PDP be allowed to inspect it, more so when they are of the view that the results were marred with lots of irregularities? It is my patriotic view that the Appeal Court cannot rely on the submissions of one of the critical stakeholders in the electoral process (the Election Observer’s Report) to conclude that INEC’s IT Servers were not used for the purposes of the transmission and collation of the 2019 Presidential election. That argument is wrong because the Petitioners (Atiku and the PDP) are prepared to cement their allegations with idiot proof evidence. It is therefore the duty of the Respondents (INEC and APC) to prove beyond reasonable doubts that such IT Infrastructure never existed or were never used for the conduct of the 2019 Presidential election as the case may be. The PDP as a critical stakeholder has every right in law to seek to inspect the electoral materials, whether ballot papers, IT Servers or Election Result Sheets as this is the only lawful way they can convince any neutral mind on the viability or otherwise of their claims. While I cannot submit with absolute certainty that the PDP actually won the Presidential Poll, I am only worried about the credibility of our electoral system, before, during and after the elections. As a people we need to build new levels of trust, justice, accountability, transparency and commitment to nation building. Our people are dying of hardships when God has blessed us as a nation. Nation Building is everyone’s responsibility because if Nigeria is good today it will be good to every single one of us. Those who have held us hostage as a nation must be weeded out from the corridors of powers going forward. Let me once again reiterate that my own little support in the last presidential election was never for President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC or for the Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, my support was for Professor Kingsley Moghalu of the YPP whom I stepped down for on the day of YPP Presidential Primaries. Fellow Nigerians, it is time to be a voice and not an echo. Let’s make our Country Great! Dr. (Engr.) Donald Igwegbu CEng., CMarEng., FIMarEST Co-Convener - Time to Build a Nation. |
