Professional painters should strive to be confident in practice. The trait “confidence” might be intangible but the effect is always pronounced. Here are three (3) important tips on how to improve your confidence as a professional painter. Know your trade: Understanding the nitty-gritties of your trade automatically gives you the needed confidence when interacting with a client who most likely you don’t know so much about painting. You might not know which of these clients is a professional in your field and for one reason or the other, the client is not chanced to handle a job his or herself and have decided to contract it out to a fellow painter. Once a painter who is competent encounter clients such as this, clients who most happens to be the most challenging ones, the painter is not saddled with uncertainties which accompanies mediocre painters. Uncertainties on whether how they engage their clients is convincing enough because they themselves are not totally convinced whether what they saying is right or wrong. this automatically drains the confidence of this quack painters. This lack of confidence is quick to detect by clients and once detected, the likeliness of getting the job drops to 10%. So please know your trade, get the required certifications, trainings, confidence attached and engage with authority any client that may come your way. Keep personal Issues away from work: Always learn to separate personal issues from work because that can lead to less productivity at work. Let me give you a scenario, if you are desperately in need of money and you eventually got a lead on a client who wants to paint a property. Since you are so desperate for money, you tend to be too overly careful not to make mistakes that would jeopardize your chances of landing the job when you engage such client. While being overly carefully, it can psychology transforms into pressure which automatically compromise your display of confidence. But Hey! As regards your personal life, this example only highlights personal issues that could be financially driven, other issues could be family disputes, health challenges etc, whatever it is, do not bring the energy which accompanies these issues to your work space. Stay Happy: A Smile on your face communicates confidence even if it might not be there. Believe me, even if for some reason you are nervous, keep a little smile on your face. Most clients view professionals who exhibit this positive energy as those who are confident about what they are doing and so they are likely to reciprocate same confidence in the painter. The beautiful effect of this is that, once the “not so confident” painter then perceives the reaction that the client has confidence in him/her, there is 90% possibility this reaction will spur and boast the actual confidence level of the painter. Moreover, we all are aware of a general accepted law which states that, for every action, there is always an equal and opposite reaction. source: https://academy.bhubng.com/2019/11/15/3-tips-on-how-to-improve-your-confidence-as-a-professional-painter/

Regardless of whether you’re in a start-up, medium scale organization or a fortune 500 corporation, as the control centre of your work, your office space needs to be carefully planned out, door included. In order to choose the right door for installation, you’ll need to cover these 3 key things: Security You’ll most likely have plenty of crucial documents and valuables stored within your office. In order to keep everything safe and create peace of mind, be sure to install a door with a lock. You’ll be able to determine whether your door will need a simple key lock or a combination lock depending on the value of your items, however some sort of security device is crucial. Acoustics Whether you’re the manager or a humble employee, your doors must both shut out and keep in all noise. Having a door with proper acoustics will help keep your conversations private within your office, while the same goes for keeping out noise pollution to assist in your productivity. Invitation Trying to keep your items safe or even maintaining your privacy may make you appear exclusive. That’s why your office door needs to also create a sense of invitation so that your peers can feel comfortable coming to speak to you. Hence, choosing the right design and colour for your door is essential. Red creates a sense of warmth, as does timber, while a wider door is more inviting than one which is too narrow or tall. No matter your business, installing the right door from design inception is the most cost-effective option. Builders’ Hub can help you find the perfect door, allowing for lock systems, privacy and added strength for any tumultuous door slamming that may happen in future. With a variety of options for your needs we can help you choose the right door for your workplace to last for years to come. Find out more about door solutions that would suit your circumstances by contacting our friendly support team today. We’ll be waiting with the door open. Steam rooms are enclosed spaces that are heated with steam. The temperatures vary, but steam rooms are typically kept somewhere around 110°F. You’ve probably seen steam rooms before at your gym or inside a spa. Steam rooms are similar to saunas. Both encourage you to sit in a small, heated room, and both claim your health will benefit. Steam rooms are heated by a generator filled with boiling water. The key to the steam room’s unique health benefits is the humidity. Health benefits A steam room can improve your health in several ways. IMPROVES CIRCULATION Sitting in a steam room might significantly improve your cardiovascular health. A study of older individuals showed that moist heat improved circulation, especially in extremities. Improved circulation can lead to lowered blood pressure and a healthier heart. It can also promote healing of broken skin tissue. LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE Research shows that in a steam room, some people’s bodies release hormones that change their heart rate. One of these hormones, called aldosterone, regulates your blood pressure. When aldosterone is released from sitting in the steam room, it can help lower high blood pressure. This is part of the reason that the steam room makes you feel relaxed. REDUCES STRESS Being in the steam room can also decrease your body’s production of cortisol. Cortisol is the hormone that regulates the level of stress that you feel. When your cortisol levels drop, you feel more in control and relaxed. Spending a few minutes in a relaxed state not only improves your health, but also helps heal your mind and improve your focus. CLEARS CONGESTION Steam rooms create an environment that warms the mucous membrane and encourages deep breathing. As a result, using one can help break up congestion inside your sinuses and lungs. Steam therapy used for treating colds and sinus infections at home is controversial because of the potential to scald yourself if you do it incorrectly. But steam rooms are relatively safe in comparison, as long as you don’t stay inside too long. An older study Source done on a group of children found that kids with respiratory infections recovered more quickly after steam therapy than kids who did not use steam therapy. Do not use a stream room if you have a fever. PROMOTES SKIN HEALTH Through environmental exposure, all sorts of toxins can become trapped underneath your skin. Steam rooms help solve that problem by using heat to open up your pores. The warm condensation rinses away the dirt and dead skin that can lead to breakouts. As a result, you may have clearer and more even-toned skin. AIDS IN WORKOUT RECOVERY The pain you feel after working out is called delayed onset muscles soreness (DOMS). Professional athletes have known for decades that heat therapy can help them recover from training workouts. Heat can penetrate deep into muscle tissue and help relieve DOMS. A recent study showed that moist heat works as effectively and also more quickly than dry heat in muscle recovery. LOOSENS STIFF JOINTS Warming up before a workout is critical in avoiding injury. Using a steam room as part of your warm-up could help you reach maximum mobility during activities such as running, Pilates, and yoga. One study investigated the effects. Heat was applied to the knee joint before activity, and as a result, the joint was far more flexible and relaxed. The results showed that heat can help reduce injury before a workout. It was also found that women especially benefitted from heat therapy on the knee joint to prevent injury. BURNS CALORIES When you’re in the steam room or sauna, your heart rate increases. If you use a steam room after an aerobic workout, your heart rate is already elevated, and the steam room can prolong that elevation. When used correctly, experts note that saunas and steam rooms stimulate your body in ways that typical exercise does not. Sweating it out in the steam room isn’t a tool to lose weight quickly. Any weight you lose in the steam room is water weight, and you’ll need to replace it by drinking water to avoid dehydration. But using steam rooms regularly as a way to burn more calories at the gym could help your diet and exercise routine be more effective. BOOSTS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM Different forms of hydrotherapy are known to boost immunity, and steam rooms are no exception. Exposing your body to warm water stimulates leukocytes, which are cells that fight infection. Sitting in a steam room when you’re fighting off a cold shouldn’t be your first line of defense, though, as there’s no proof that the steam can kill a brewing infection. But using steam rooms regularly will give your bloodstream an immunity boost that could lead to you getting sick less often. Limits and risks of steam room use Steam rooms have plenty of potential health benefits, but they can be harmful if you overuse them. Staying in a steam room for more than 15 minutes can dehydrate you. Steam rooms can also host other people’s germs. The steam isn’t hot enough to kill some types of bacteria, and the warmth may even increase the number of bacteria. Steam rooms alone can’t treat serious conditions. And while they can raise your heart rate and make your exercise more effective, steam rooms are not a substitute for exercise. If you are pregnant, immune-compromised, or recovering from surgery, avoid the steam room and sauna until you get the all-clear from your doctor. Outlook Adding a stop in the steam room to your post workout routine can decrease your recovery time and help you feel healthier. While steam rooms should never replace treatments that your doctor has prescribed, they are a great place to unwind and reap some health benefits while you’re at it. Always practice good steam room hygiene by wearing flip-flops, sitting on a towel, and rinsing off with a lukewarm shower to get rid of bacteria after time in a steam room. Imagine what a skilled trade (construction) person looks like, you will probably picture a guy with beards wearing a hard hat, rugged work boot, and dirty jeans. But what about the WOMEN? Regardless of how progressive our ideas about gender are, most of us would fail to observe that there are few female Plumber, female construction worker, or a female diesel mechanic. Not because we would doubt their skills, but simply because they are RARE. Less than 10% of applicants for Trade apprentices are women, less than 4% of Plumbing and Electrical trade trainees are women and less than 2% of building trade workers are women. There is a need to do more and a void to be filled so as to encourage young women at schools and colleges to infiltrate the building industry as there are so many roles for them. Women should not be nervous because they do not think they have the knowledge or they are the only women on site, everything gets better through experience. They just need to be keen and eager and show aptitude that they will find their place in the industry. Meet South African 1ST Female Ship Builder: Candra Shanice Pedro Candra Shanice Pedro expressed that she came to enter the field of ship building after seeing an apprenticeship advert and going for an interview. Cape town – South Africa’s first qualified female builder Candra Shanice Pedro hails from Bonteheuwel on the Cape flats. She began her apprenticeship in 2013 and after six years she recently qualified as a ship builder. “Since high school I have always been in a technical and engineering field” Pedro said. “Once they informed me what it was all about, I kind of fell in love with it”. Be like Candra Shanice Pedro. SOURCE: https://academy.bhubng.com/2019/10/18/empowering-more-women-in-construction/

Over the years, education and learning has evolved right from the days of writings on the walls, writings on stones, nature learning, passing of information across by using birds to the use of writing materials like pen, pencil, books, drawing sheets, iPad, Workbook and other sophisticated gadget. Professional vocational education and training is a challenge in all African countries. In most countries the enrolment rate into formal vocational training college or academy is 5 percent or less. Non-formal vocational is predominant and often highly fragmented. Learning opportunities at the workplace, non-formal learning, private provision, and initiatives under various non-education sector ministries all tend to operate in a non-coherent way. Governments and international institutions are paying increasing attention to professional vocational skills. The demand is enormous. Three out of five unemployed in sub-Saharan Africa are young people, mostly surviving in the informal economy. In the present context of globalization, the demand for skilled and multi - skilled workers has increased and in Nigeria, there is a critical need for quality skill development & training. it has been projected that between now and 2025 over 100million young people will enter the Nigeria workforce with less than 5% of youth aged 20- 24 currently having obtained vocational skills through a formal training system. The building and construction Industry is currently saturated by poor workmanships which has led to the delivery of poor quality works handled by Nigerian Artisans and Craftsmen. This failure has been attributed to lack of skilled craftsmen in the industry. We are at Builders Hub Vocational College has been working round the clock to proffer empowerment solutions. Builders Hub Vocational College is poised to equip Artisans and Craftsmen with skills and Knowledge for excellent job performance which will in turn accelerate the growth of the Building/ Construction Industry in Nigeria and Africa at Large. I just want to throw this question to the house. We have all noticed that a lot of Nigerian graduates go to school and come out not finding jobs. Most of the ones who eventually become lucky enough to get jobs do so in fields that are totally unrelated to what they studied. Truth be told. While school is good, skill is what you need to survive and advance in the real world. You need skills to hold a job, run a business, manage your boss and even your customers. Would you rather wait for a job or acquire the skill needed to set you on that entrepreneurial path of success? Introducing Builders Hub Academy Nigeria. Builders Hub Academy is a subsidiary of Builder's Hub Nigeria - your one stop shop for building materials. We have been in business over the years, building relationships with top brands and manufacturers in the building, construction, furniture, paint, sanitary and related industries and have partnered with these world class companies to train young Nigerians irrespective of academic qualifications to become professional and world class interior decorators, tilers, cabinet & furniture makers, painters and electricians right here in Nigeria. Our first set of students just graduated in December and we are currently accepting applications for the next set of Builders Hub Academy trainees. If you'd like to register, you're in luck.
