INDUCED VENGEANCE!

One afternoon,13 years ago, in the city of Ilorin Kwara state Nigeria, I got an urgent call from the wife of my close friend. Her husband just beat her up AGAIN!

Slow down, before you begin to shout "beast... animal... wicked!" Let me tell you a little about this couple and particularly about my friend.

This couple is the most pleasant people you would always want to be around. You could never be bored with them around you. They can give away anything to anyone in need around them. Wonderful guys. Each one of them, so liberal, so humorous and light hearted. You could never even imagine them getting into a fight!

So I got this distress call and rushed there. It wasn't the first time, in fact physical fights had almost become normal at the time.

When I got there, I met only the woman and her kids. She was in tears, cursing and sobbing. I couldn't even make much of all she was saying. I just sat down there quietly not knowing what to say or do to douse the tension.

So I ask her where her husband was. I was shocked to know that he had gone out to watch a football game with his friends. Did he even care? That got me really furious!

At first I wanted to just get up and leave but when I saw the sadness on the faces of the children, I decided to sit there until he comes back.

Well, he came back and was rather lively, perhaps because the team he supports won. Jovial as usual, we chatted away as if nothing was amiss. I couldn't bring up the conversation immediately. So I to asked to see him privately. He obliged and we took little stroll.

When I demanded to know why he had beaten his wife again after several promises not to do it again. To my surprise, he did not even try to defend himself. He blamed himself for getting angry so easily. He admitted that what happened did not warrant a fight.

Actually their little boy, the last born got sick and the wife wanted them to go and see a doctor. He felt the boy was fine with the medication he was getting at home. The wife without his consent took the boy to the hospital.

When the got back, he found out that they were coming from the doctor. That led to altercations bothering on obedience and submission and it escalated into a thorough beating. He thought he had over reacted.

THEN I DID IT!

To be honest, I dIn't know where it came from. I just asked a totally unrelated question. "How is your sex life?"

Both of us were embarrassed for a moment. After a little moment of silence he said "we are alright." He wiped sweat from his brow and continued.

"I don't think sex has anything to do with this. I mean with all we are facing now, nobody takes sex as anything much"

Deep down in me I felt I had made a huge blunder by asking that awkward question. I was about to apologize when he said.

"Although last night I wanted to make love, and she just snubbed me as if I was a piece a dirty rag. I'm used to that now"

He continued "I can't be begging everyday for what is my right now, I just turned my back to her and blocked the whole thing out of my mind like it never happened. It's not a problem, I think I can handle that!" He concluded.

Hmmmm, women don't know how this things get to us. I don't know any man who does not contemplate revenge each time he is turned down like that. We may not carry it out all the time though.

I thought it was a problem. Then I asked, "how was your sex life some...hmmmm say 10 year back?"

He livened up. "I had plenty of fun. Although I was already married to my wife, I had two other girls." He said.

There was this one he just kept on talking about as if she was the best woman in the world. She was the only one who was never wrong. He could give her anything, including the things she wouldn't dare ask for.

I was curious so I asked to know why she was so special? He said the girl in question would NEVER deny him sex. In fact she would not even serve it reluctantly no matter how she is feeling. She made him feel like the kind of the man he like to imagined himself to be. They are no longer together since he got serious with Church activities and functions.

I had to stop him from going on and on. I told him, "so there was someone you were ready to give everything to, someone you can't imagine laying your hands on, and yet you can't wait to beat your wife for any slight slip?"

Tears welled up in his eyes as he blotted out choking on in his own words, "I didn't realize the continued sexual starvation she's bullying me with had really wounded me this badly." "I can't say if I'm beginning to hate her... God help me!" He concluded.

Most women AND EVEN THE MEN are hardly aware how much of their actions are driven by their great sex life or lack of it.

Do you think men are as generous as the way they give after a really good sex feast?

That's why psychologists discourage women,more than men, from cheating.Because women can't handle the emotional conflict that comes with cheating.
