https://flickng.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Buhari.jpg Contrary to the position of critics on the president’s overseas trips, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, declared in London that there have been both political and economic benefits to his trips. Speaking to journalists before embarking on his five days break, the president said: “I haven’t seen any fruitless journey that I have undertaken.” He chose to particularly respond to Ekiti State governor’s allegation that the trips are frivolous and money guzzling. “I understand the governor of Ekiti said that every trip I have made costs Nigeria at least one million dollars. I don’t know how he worked that out, but every trip I have made, there must be reasons – economic and political, to justify the trip. So, those who don’t see it the way the government sees it have the right not to agree and to say whatever they like,” the president said. On his government’s efforts to rid the country of corruption, the president stated that the fight was not selective, and promised not to yield any ground to corrupt elements in the country or in government. “There is no way we will get a record of any public officer that has misappropriated public funds and leave him alone,” he said. He noted that the once powerful Boko Haram terrorists, who had a choke-hold on the country’s North-east region, and claimed territories are now in tatters and a shadow of what they used to be. “Boko Haram used to effectively control 14 local governments and they hoist their flag and declare a caliphate of some sort. Now, Boko Haram is not holding any local government. They are being dispersed, they are in pockets and they have reverted to technology.” He pointed out that the decimated insurgents are at the moment only left to function with improvised explosive devices, IEDs. “Improvised Explosive Devices – they get cooking gas, some wares and metals, put them together and get girls mostly from the age of 15 downwards and detonate it in churches, mosques, market places and motor parks and kill people en masse. That is what they do now. We will continue to fight terrorism.” He restated his government’s readiness to negotiate with any credible leader or representative of the terrorist group, adding that he was aware that some people who want to fraudulently enrich themselves have taken advantage of the kidnap of the Chibok school girls to approach government and make claims of being leaders of Boko Haram and claiming to know the whereabouts of the school girls and demanding money for it. “People cannot just come and say they know where the Chibok girls are and they want money. Money, what for? Let them deliver, or let us negotiate. If their leadership of Boko Haram is credible, is bonafide, established, then the government is willing to discuss with them to arrive at an agreement on how to recover the girls.” President Buhari, in a straight talk, expressed worry over the anti-social activities of Nigerians abroad, which he observed, tarnishes their image in their host countries. He lamented that such image problem has made it difficult for Nigerians who seek to live in the West to gain acceptance by Western nations. “Some Nigerians claim is that life is too difficult back home, but they have also made it difficult for Europeans and Americans to accept them because of the number of Nigerians in prisons around the world accused of drug trafficking or human trafficking,” the Daily Telegraph newspaper, quoted him. https://www.today.ng/news/national/76218/there-are-political-economic-gains-to-my-trips-buhari |
Some men are very self-conscious before and even when having s*x especially when it is the first time. Here are top 10 things they are most jittery about 1. His O-face. The reason we tend to bury our face in the nape of your neck when we orgasm is because at that moment in time, our face looks like we bit into a lemon while our penis has a seizure. It is something no one needs to see. 2. That weird sweat smell. It doesn’t always smell bad in the moment, but then afterward, it’s like, “Oh, wait. That’s the smell of my wet ass. That’s what my damp butt smells like.” If you walk into a man’s bedroom, and you see a candle, it’s because that man’s sweaty butt smells weird. It’s the only reason that candle is there. 3. That he hasn’t been to the gym in a few weeks. But honestly, we just sit on our phones and play Clash of Clans next to the squat rack anyway, so it doesn’t matter. 4. That he just burped but he played it off by casually mentioning that the house was on fire and you needed to leave. If we’ve got gas during s*x, going for the “house on fire” play is really only option we have. If we really like you, we have to actually burn our house down, which, like, sucks. 5. That he’s trying really, really hard not to come too soon. We’re doing this for easily 50 percent of the time we’re having sex. Hell, I’m trying not to come right now as I write this and nothing is even happening. 6. That he struggled undoing your bra. I don’t care how many bras we’ve undone in our life, some bras are just difficult. It’s even worse if we get cocky and go for the one hand no-look, only to fumble terribly and then ask you to just turn around after 30 seconds of messing with it. 7. His weird balls. Hopefully, you pretty much just maneuver around them, but if not we pray you don’t get a good look. I don’t want to body-shame anyone, but I think the general consensus is that everyone thinks balls look weird. It’s one of the few things that unify mankind. No matter whose balls they are, they look like the eggs from Aliens. 8. That part of him, even if it’s a small part, thinks that maybe deep down this is some kind of scam. Why else would you be sleeping with us on purpose? Seriously, in what dimension are we perceived as a sexually viable candidate? I can’t speak for every guy out there, but personally, I’m always a bit incredulous when I sleep with someone for the first time. Like, maybe I’m just being distracted while five men carry all the furniture out of my apartment and off into the night. 9. That he has a bunch of garbage under the bed. Because the second we realized you were coming over, we basically just shoved everything under there. 10. That he has a bunch of garbage on the bed. We forgot some stuff, so that impressive sex move we did where we spun you around and then supported your body with only our pelvis? That was only so we could hide a bunch of random crap under the covers. ![]() |
These are proven ways of winning the hearts of a woman in a cost-effective way rather than plunging oneself into huge debts for romance. Contrary to the belief that a fortune has to be spent before a man could get a lady into his bed, there are some tips that would help the man arrive at the same destination without taking the money route. Dealing with women requires wisdom and goes beyond making an impression with wealth. Not every woman would jump into a man’s bed because he displays affluence; not everyone is swayed by material wealth or things considered vain. It would be of great benefits for men to know there are other things that could be done to sweep a woman off her feet and into your arms. To start with, every woman has a soft spot; perhaps a magic button that casts a s*xy spell on her when pushed. The right attitude most times clears the path and makes things easier. Find below some tips that could get a woman into your bed without necessarily spending much: 1. Mannerism Women love it when men act courteously towards them. Men who exhibit simple gentlemanly behaviors find it easy to make butterflies flurry in these women’s stomachs or send them into frenzy. Women find themselves falling for men who seem to appreciate them and deflect the right emotion towards them. Some women simply want attention; finding a man who gives them attention in a civilized manner could make them jump into his bed. 2. The Right Words Ever wondered why many people (especially women) listen to old blues and lyrics of artistes like Phil Collins, Tracy Chapman and others? It’s simply because their words convey emotions with deep roots. Words have a way of getting to people, they cause you to think deeply or awaken a sensation within you. Love letters in the past were written using many of these musical lines and they give the recipient a beautiful feeling. Women are moved by words and emotions. Saying the right words to them at the right time would help you land them in your bed faster than anticipated. 3. Being Romantic After getting a woman to like you and the friendship kicks off, another thing that makes the bedroom journey quicker is being a romantic. Most women love it when men are all over them. Study the body language of these women; read the signs and learn when to stop. Some women love to flirt too; while being romantic, be cautious so you don’t suggest you are all about the sex. Women love men who are reasonable and have control over their feelings. With all these done, it wouldn’t be long before you have them in your bed. 4. Set The Mood Most women still enjoy being pampered by men. A simple dinner with soft music, exotic dish, wine and flowers would make a beautiful scene. Naturally, some women would be on the defensive considering the set-up but having a light or non-personal conversation would ease up the tension. If you are a smooth talker, you may make an interesting company while the wine gets you both feeling light headed and charged with Dutch courage. 5. Know What Works For A Woman Some women are touchy; they get turned on by touches and caresses. In this situation, your hands would take charge and do the magic for you. While playing, you may discover the sensitive spots on her body and that becomes her weakness. During making out sessions, touch these parts and she wouldn’t be able to resist you. 6. Patience These days, almost every girl is conscious of being used and dumped. Women are quick to assume that men basically want to sleep with them and go. Having this at the back of their minds may make your charms seem ineffective. Try not to be pushy or ruffled when things don’t happen at the time they are expected to. Remain calm and sweet and the ladies’ walls of defense would eventually cave in. it could be their own way of testing you. 7. Make Her Friends Your Friends Another awesome way of getting to a woman is by making her friends your friends; be nice to them. Remember they chit-chat about almost everything and they have heard about you from the very first moment you both met. Their opinion of you probably made her hang out with you a second time. If her friends don’t like you, they may probably discourage her and you may never get to see her pants. |

– Is there any difference between General Muhammadu Buhari and President Muhammadu Buhari by offering Nigeria and Nigerians the best economic policies? – The blame for the present economic woes of the country has been put at the door step of Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) – Nigerians are groaning under a high exchange rate especially businessmen and importers https://flickng.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Capture.jpg The analysis done by Buharimetre on how President Muhammadu Buhari has steered the ship of the nation is what the president himself may need to think so much about. READ ALSO: Buhari has fulfiled just one of his 222 campaign promises President Buhari was addressed as General Muhammadu Buhari at least 30 years ago until he was about to be sworn in on Friday, May 29, 2015. He himself dropped General from his name. The interest in General Buhari as a military Head of State was that some of his economic policies were lauded by economic experts especially when he paid Nigeria’s foreign debts and stabilised the exchange rate as one Naira to a Dollar. General Buhari ensured he never made the Naira slip as he left office without devaluing Nigeria’s currency. However, as a democratically elected president, Buhari is currently battling hard to ensure that the Naira is not exchanged for more than N300 a Dollar at the parallel exchange market. The Naira has fallen against the Dollar several times since Buhari assumed office. When General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (rtd) took over the reins of leadership of the country from General Buhari, some public analysts then initially believe better days were ahead for the economy of the country not until IBB took Nigeria to the wrong direction by introducing the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) which was the brain-child of the Paris club led by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB). As the Naira continues to fall against the Dollar, President Buhari further explained one of the reasons for this. In an interview the president granted on Friday, February 5 as reported in The Cable. “President Muhammadu Buhari said the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) killed the naira. Ibrahim Babangida, former military president, instituted SAP between 1986 and 1988. “Buhari traced the origin of the problem facing the Nigerian currency to the administration that succeeded his in the military era. Structural adjustment programmes (SAPs) consist of loans provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) to countries that experienced economic crises.” The Minister of Finance then, Chief Olu Falae was the one that championed the SAP on behalf of Babangida’s government which Nigerians had to willingly and unwillingly accept. The idea behind SAP was to first weaken the Naira against the Dollar and thereafter introduce different austerity measures in which the citizens especially the suffering masses bore the brunt. After Babangida’s regime agreed to the terms of these capitalist institutions, they offered Nigeria loan. When some economic experts realised that the loan was more of an economic bondage, they dissuaded Babangida from collecting the loan. Babangida went ahead to collect the loan and since then Nigeria’s economic fortunes started plummeting. The rest they say is history. Babangida met the exchange rate at one Naira to a Dollar but left it as N22 to one Dollar after introducing the SAP and other unfavourable economic policies. |
https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Muhammadu-buhari..2.jpg President Muhammadu Buhari is under pressure from some highly-placed Nigerians to slow down his anti-graft war, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said yesterday. But the government will not pull the brakes because fighting corruption is what Nigerians want, the Vice President said. Prof. Osinbajo spoke during a meeting with a delegation from the Moslem Congress of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said the Vice President noted that the government had been getting regular messages from some Nigerian elites urging it to take it easy. “We get regular messages from some Nigerian elites saying ‘cool down’. “It is a very strange morality, that some of those people have, very complicated but cutting across all tribes and religious differences,” he said. He, however, observed that the masses of the Nigerian people have a clearer understanding of right and wrong. “The masses don’t have that problem,” he said According to him, a new tribe of Nigerians who would not compromise their values but would maintain a sense of right and wrong is now emerging. “The man on the street is very clear, so whatever some of these elites say, we shall keep our focus on the masses who voted for us,” the Vice President said. He said it was simply unacceptable that in the last 16 years, there is not a single federal government completed road, let alone rail. Noting that the reason for their failure was corruption, he said the cost of projects were often inflated as people entrusted with public trust struggle to enrich themselves at the expense of the people. Osinbajo said it was the same inordinate desire for enrichment that explains why money meant to procure arms were being distributed among persons at a time when the territorial integrity of the nation was being attacked. “The insurgency has gone on for six years because government could not adequately equip the military,” he said But the Vice President assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will not relent, adding that we have no other agenda but ”the progress of this country”. Osinbajo added: “Mr. President and I are extremely focussed on what we need to do. We will focus on critical things, infrastructure and social investments.” The leader of the delegation from the Moslem Congress of Nigeria, Imam Abdulahi Shuaib expressed readiness to assist government where necessary. “We are thankful that our candidates of choice in the election emerged,” he said, adding that the choice of the President and the Vice President was made by God during last year’s presidential election. The Vice President also received delegations from the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Facility for Oil Sector Transparency Reform (FOSTER), a group composed of NGOs involved in various programmes in the Niger Delta. Osinbajo praised the engineers and highlighted the importance of the profession in national development. “There is no question at all that engineers are central to the development of the society,” he noted. The NSE delegation was led by its President, Mr. Otis Anyaeji. The Vice President restated the government’s commitment to the development of the Niger Delta. He praised the group for coming together to develop a common framework to support development in the area. The group, which said it adopted a common framework to avoid duplication, was led by Mr. Richard Oshowole. Many officials of the Goodluck Jonathan government are either being probed for alleged corrupt acts or being tried after being arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The $2.1billion arms cash which some government officials allegedly shared as campaign fund and the alleged fraud in arms procurement are top on the ongoing probe. Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki is at the centre of the alleged fraud. He is standing trial for money laundering and criminal breach of the law. Yesterday, a former aide to former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Mallam Abba Dabo, told the court in Abuja that he collected N25million from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh’s firm – Destra – to undertake a publicity job. But he told the court that he surrendered the cash to the EFCC when he discovered that the money came from the office of the National Security Adviser. Also yesterday, the government accused Dasuki of plotting to scuttle his trial before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Maitama, Abuja. Dasuki is being tried with a former Director of Finance and Administration, Office of the National Security Adviser, Shuaibu Salisu, a former General Manager, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Babakusa and two companies – Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited – on a 19-count charge. The accusation is contained in a counter-affidavit filed by the prosecution against an application filed by Dasuki. The ex-NSA, in the application he filed last month, accused the EFCC and by extension, the Federal Government, of breaching his right to prepare for his defence by re-arresting him after the court granted him bail last December 18. http://thenationonlineng.net/buhari-under-pressure-to-stop-anti-graft-battle/ |
Ade Adesomoju A former Political Adviser to the ex-Vice-President, Namadi Sambo, Abba Dabo, on Thursday told a Federal High Court in Abuja that he returned to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission the sum of N25m paid to him by the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, for the party’s media publicity works. Dabo, who was testifying as the seventh prosecution witness against Metuh, said he returned the money on his own volition in January 2016 due to media publications indicating that it was sourced from funds meant for procurement of arms. He said the N25m was paid to him through Metuh’s firm, Destra Investment Limited’s account, on December 16, 2014, five days after former President Goodluck Jonathan and Sambo emerged as the PDP’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates at the party’s nomination convention. The witness, who is a past newspaper’s editor and a former Chief Press Secretary to ex-President Shehu Shagari, said he decided to return the money to the EFCC because he could not reach Metuh, who was then in the custody of the anti-graft agency. The PDP chief said, “Unfortunately, there were reports in the media on this transaction with Chief Metuh linking it to controversial circumstances. I mean it was identified that Chief Metuh paid the N25m into my account through his company and that the source of the money was from the arms deal that was being discussed generally in the country. “As a result of that publication, we thought we needed to explain, and because it was paid to my personal account , in my name, I decided to make a refund, and I paid it to the EFCC, because I couldn’t reach Mr. Metuh that particular time. “The newspapers were awash with the story that linked the money given to me to the arms money that was said to have been diverted to other uses by the Office of the National Security Adviser. On my own volition, I decided that the best way out of the rigmarole was to pay back the amount. I paid it back to EFCC.” The EFCC is prosecuting Metuh and Destra Investments Limited on seven counts of fraudulent collection of N400m from the Office of the National Security Adviser on November 22, 2014 and money laundering involving cash transaction to the tune of $2m. The prosecution alleged that the N400m which Metuh got from the NSA office and used for the PDP’s campaign activities was “part of the proceeds of an unlawful activity” of the immediate past NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.). Dabo said on Thursday that with the N25m which he got from Metuh in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election, he helped to mitigate and counter negative media reports against the then Jonathan-led government and the PDP. He said he used the money to run the Media Support System which he had set up to boost the PDP’s media profile in response to “vicious attacks” from Hausa radio stations and criticisms from the Nigerian media as well as the social media. He said he also set up a team of facilitators and young Information Technology enthusiasts, who were active on the Internet to run a website, What’s Up Naija. He added, “From the money we received from Chief Metuh, we paid salaries and allowances of facilitators, bought equipment and computers for the young people working on What’s Up Naija. “We even paid that year’s rent for our office at 12B, Deb Street, Off Danube Street in Maitama, Abuja. We also used that office to monitor the election.” Dabo, who described Metuh as “a loyal party man, dedicated, strong and outspoken person,” said he, however, chose to refund the money to the EFCC following media reports linking the money to the botched purchase of arms. “I decided to refund the money not only because it was from the NSA Office, but also because it was linked to the botched arms purchase deal,” Dabo said. But the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, on Thursday upheld an objection raised by the defence to the admissibility of documents relating to the activities of the What’s Up Naija and Media Support System as well as the tenancy agreement for the office used by the campaign platforms. The judge rejected the documents relating to the two campaign platforms because, being computer-generated, they did not meet the standard set out in Section 84(1) (a) to (c) of the Evidence Act, and the tenancy agreement because the prosecution failed to lay proper foundation as to why it tendered the photocopy instead of the original. Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, Mr. Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), Dabo confirmed that he considered the refund of the money “absolutely important,” and that he made the refund to the EFCC through three bank drafts. “I wrote a letter to the EFCC attaching three bank drafts with a cover letter acknowledging that Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, gave N25m to me on December 16, 2014 for the purposes of publicity campaign which was done by Whats Up Naija and Media Support System,” he said. He said he did not mention the refund in his statement made to the EFCC on January 6, 2016 “because I needed to go to the bank the next day to make necessary arrangement.” Fielding more questions from Ikpeazu, the witness confirmed that he was at Metuh’s home in Gudu area of Abuja on the day he was arrested while trying to find out the source of the campaign money from him. “Up till now, I have not have the chance of meeting with him,” the witness said. He confirmed that former President Jonathan, the Federal Government and the PDP benefitted “immensely” from the media works Metuh engaged him for. Metuh attended the proceedings from home on Thursday, without handcuffs and prison officials around him. Thursday was his first court appearance after he met his bail conditions and was released from prison. Decked in a black suit with a pair of eye glasses, his gray beards which were left to grow during his 13 days of detention, had been shaved clean. Like the previous court sessions, a battery of women party faithful in the PDP-customised wrappers, relatives and friends, filled all available spaces in the court room. After the court proceedings on Thursday, they surrounded and accompanied Metuh to a waiting Prado jeep which later drove him away. Justice Abang adjourned till Monday for further trial. http://www.punchng.com/i-returned-metuhs-n25m-to-efcc-sambos-ex-aide-tells-court-2/ |
https://www.flickng.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Fayose.jpg Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has counselled President Muhammadu Buhari to stay at home and govern the country instead of junketing from one country to the other, saying; “foreign countries won’t solve our problems for us and the President’s foreign trips are already bleeding the economy with about $1 million being spent per trip.” The governor, who said most of the trips embarked on by the President were unnecessary, added that ministers or at best the vice president could have been made to attend most of the functions being attended abroad by the President. According to a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “the President should rather listen more to those of us who criticise him instead of those hailing every of his wrong steps either because of what they intend to gain or for fear of persecution.” The statement read: “Conservatively, about $1 million goes into every of the foreign trips and the way the President is going, foreign trips alone might gulp 20 per cent of the Federal Government budget and that will be disastrous for the dwindling economy of the country. “It is even more worrisome that while the economy is already in a shambles and insecurity pervades the land with Boko Haram burning Nigerians, including children alive in the North East, our President is busy globetrotting.” http://flickng.com/fayose-counsels-buhari-over-incessant-foreign-trips/ |
– Nigerian police officers display their newly acquired training in counter terrorism. – The security operatives public display is aimed at sending a signal to Boko Haram members. Some Nigerian police officers, this afternoon, February 2, 2016, took to the street of Abuja to display their newly acquired training from the counter terrorism unit of the force. The counter terrorism arm is responsible for curbing of any possible terrorist attacks. The officers whose morale are very high took to the street of the FCT to display their newly acquired tactics. Demonstrating in unison and flaunting their sophisticated fire power. Other security personnel from the counter terrorism unit were also seen on the street display. The security dogs handlers were not left out of the public display of security preparedness, which is believed to be aimed at sending a stern warning to the Boko Haram members. Recall that as Nigeria became deeply plagued by the destructive activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group, the Federal Government received help from the U.S. Government’s Anti-terrorism Assistance Programme (ATA) in October 2015. About 200 Nigerian police officers benefited from that training, which ATA said was the largest in Nigeria. The U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, Mrs Maria Brewer, at the training in Abuja, explained that the exercise was aimed at achieving new innovation among the participants. http://flickng.com/boko-haram-security-personnel-displays-gallantry-photos/
