The singular reason Igbos were attracted to Lagos was the ease of business, building and investment. Ordinary election result can affect stock market strongly. How much more a state government declaring 80% of buildings in an entire area of the state as illegally built and making massive demolitions at the same time.

The truth is Igbo Money miss roads in lekki have misled Lagos govt to think that those structures and development are easy to come by. However, once the govt succeeds in raising the awareness among investors that investment that took years to establish can be destroyed in a day not minding the reason, such consciousness can never be erased. Trust broken can never be regained. Decisions have already been made about divestment.

Before you attack me, I am sad it's taking destruction of businesses for Igbos to learn. But I am happy about the demolitions because it will rapidly increase investment in Igboland.

The children of Israel were reluctant to go to Canaan despite being a land flowing with milk and honey. But when God wanted them to go, he sent them hostile pharoahs back to back.

Amongst the guests were several lawyers who were well-known in the region, not least for their participation in the Commission of Inquiry. They were Barrister Steven B. Rhodes (who represented the women of Nguru, Aba, Umuaro and Opobo Station etc.), Sigismund Macaulay (the leader of the practising Bar of the Eastern Division of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, who represented women of Egwanga and Opobo Town etc.), and Stanley J Benjamin (who represented women in Ahoada District). Other guests were Mr TKE Phillips, a well-known organist, Mr and Mrs LC Briggs, Mr and Mrs JC Mammah and Mr LR Alali.
Did you notice how Opobo and Aba had one representative and how Egwenga (Igwenga) was a name also used for Opobo.

MrOkenwa:
I will encourage everyone building in Lagos state to do proper documentation before embarking on such project. It is your responsibility to do things right. Government can stop you at any stage. Unfortunately, demolition seems to garner more sympathy from the public.
If the government relax on these regulations, Lagos will be littered with many nonsense structures and this will have environmental consequences. Imagine people criticizing the government for demolishing shanties and buildings built along the waterways. Same people criticizing the govt for not preventing floods.
It’s simple, if you can’t do it right in Lagos state, don’t do it at all.
why are using Igbo name to put out misleading impressions about your identity?

Awka millennium city is there
Enyimba economic city is there
Enugu Lion business park there
Asaba waterfront city there

Una choose to waste your money on a swampy dying city that will that will be swallowed up by rising water levels in years to come. Money miss road will cry bitter tears.

Slytiger:

So delta is also now an Ibo state right?

Anyway, Yoruba states still bring more Oil to the Nigerian table than all the Ibo states combined.
All the gas projects to be commissioned are in Igboland. If all states are told to control and use their resources, southwest will not be able to generate power. Fact!

If Igbos also divest from Lagos, southwest will become like northwest as it already is in education.
