An interesting development has been brewing at Federal Secretariats across the country. The service providers for maintenance of the secretariats have been owed service fees for upwards of two years leading to some of them either abandon site or are owing their staff salaries for months. It was even exclusively gathered that a certain contractor has passed away as a result of stroke complications and not having the funds to take care of herself after collecting loans to service the contract and payments have not been made.

A visit to some federal secretariats across the country show very skeletal services like only security. A staff of one the federal agencies working from one of the secretariats on condition of anonymity disclosed that payment to vendors is made by the Federal Ministry of Housing and he doesnt know why the contractors have not been paid for this period. He noted he has on various occasions had to give some of the contractors staff money from his pocket as he observed their condition due to outstanding salaries.
