His sayo, hope you are coping real well, having MIL around will be one big relief fa. Pls did you make this hospital payments after delivery as you stated during labour was your first time of going to oakbend. Just that I stay with a family friend and oakbend is a little of a distance from where I am so my antenatal venue is the one closest to me ie gulfton medical centre with dr fagbohun
.
sayoberry:
My bills are as follows...
Fagbohun:
Initial visit: $175
High risk pregnancy care and cesarean section - $3200. Got 20% discount so I paid $2560
Ultrasound: (twins) $300
Lab tests: $565
Total: $3600

Oak bend medical center:
C.S $3500
Twins: $500
Total: $4000

Pediatrician:
Total for the two babies for four days: $997

Anesthesiologist: $950

Brown and associates: $187

Grand total: $9734

Moral of the story: twin mothers, make una plan well o grin

You can make payment before you go into labor and also demand for a tour of the labor/delivery/post partum suites. That was what I did.
. Ok thank you.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. Am also having mine at oakbend next month..I would like to know if you visited the hospital before you fell into labour to make payments or after delivery ?
mrsmo:
I had my son at Oakbend on Wednesday morning via section. Dr. Fagbohun was marvelous. Checked on us all through our stay in the hospital till we got discharged yesterday.

The nurses and their assistants were wonderful. Enjoyed the experience sha no cause to complain. My son was kept in the nursery while I recover. Yet to settle the other bills since their offices are not opened on weekends but will swing into action by Monday after picking up the birth certificate.

Wish others safe delivery.

Hello everyone, am a silent reader, infact over silent is an understatement.. But I promised myself to give back 'cos I also learnt from this topic. I successfully got to Houston last night by God's grace, using doctor fagbohun( am yet to call to book an appointment tho. Still resting)lol. Poe was Atlanta.. It was smooth but they took me for secondary inspection sha o. I discover for we pregnant women, it is all about your confidence and as long as you have enough money to cover your medical bills throughout your stay, and very truthful. Even if you lie and you are overconfident with no altered stories say everything match, then you are good to go.lol
CBP officer: good morning ma'am, what brings you to the US?
Me: to have my baby
CBP: why Us?
Me: it is my first child and what the best medical care
CBP: but there are good doctors in Nigeria
Me: true but I did my degree research on maternal mortality and Nigeria has a high rate of maternal mortality. I don't wanna take any chances
CBP: how far gone are you? 29weeks plus
CBO: have you been to the states before? I said yes.
How much do you have on you? I told him
He then asked me to thumb print. Asked where I will be staying and I answered with a family friend. Asked where my husband is and I answered he is back in Nigeria but coming after I give birth after he asked why he is not with me. He then took the phone n called for me to be taken for secondary inspection(in my mind I said na una sabi, na sleep de worry me.lol)

Secondary inspection;
I was asked to take a sit in a room with few people. Then was called after awhile. The officer asked almost same questions as the first. But this time asked me to bring out the money, took me to a separate room to count the dollars( as he was counting he looked tired sef, he got to a point and said I will just take your word for it.lol) he asked if I had made contact with any doctor and I said yes. Asked for what I do and my husband's occupation.
When we came out, his colleague asked him*she got the money? He replied yes.
Naso we crack little joke before I left showed me where to pick my baggage.
No single document of mine was checked. They did not even ask name of doctor or ask for correspondence, bills and budget. But I had all those burden of proof with me. You can never tell when the devil wanna act.lol.
