I have read some post back but please I need assistance. I have 5 years as an IT support and I want to apply for ACS assessment. The company I worked for does not have good structure, hence salary payment is mostly by cash. Also, there is no pension paid on behalf of staffs.

Please how can I go about this?

I will also appreciate it if someone who was in the same condition as myself and have passed the assessments to support me through the application process.

1. You can go with as many photocopies as you want but they will only authenticate on your original documents, not photocopies. It is after the authentication stamp/seal or signature has been put that it is good you photocopy the original for use. The employees at the cyber cafe in the min. of edu. Will guide you.

2. How you will finish depends on how early you get there. You can finish in a day. You can finish within 2 days but budget for more than a day because once it’s 12pm, they don’t like signing again at MOFA except if you know your way which would cost you more money.

I have people there who work as real staff in those ministries and have helped me for people on so many documents authentication but I don’t want a situation whereby I would recommend and you won’t manage the relationship well and have issues and then start saying I recommended someone for you. So it’s good you go there by yourself. And be careful. There are fake seals and stamps and signatures being done outside the ministries. No go near am o if you are taking your documents to Austrian embassy. Austrian lawyers will go into the ministries to go and check the log book to verify wether or not your document was authenticated inside the ministries o. No go do give your documents to anyhow person who go go do backyard runs for you o.

1. This has been answered in previous thread. 3 documents are compulsory for authentication and legalization. Those 3 documents are: your birth certificate, police character, marriage certificate (for those that are married) or bachelorhood certificate (for single men) /spinsterhood (for single women).
Other documents that you will authenticate and legalize (in addition to the 3 already mentioned) now depend on the requirements from the school you want to attend.

2. You may need it for your bachelor’s degree admission there or pre uni. So it is good you legalize it. But for postgrad, it’s not required.

3. Worst case scenario, you would pay 1k per document but you may not collect it back that day. Only Eligibility Letter from Fed. Min. of Edu costs than 1k and that’s even id you need it.

If you are born before 1992, you cannot use that small grey NPC certificate o. Because NPC was not established then until 1992. So be careful, you could have problem submitting for legalization at the embassy.
You (your parent or a family member older than you by at least 8 years) would have to, instead, need to do affidavit on your behalf at Federal High Court which you will use to apply for NPC certificate that is usually given to those born before 1992.

The person’s name doing the affidavit for you must also be included on the Austrian embassy questionnaire you will fill o. The name and how the person is related to you have to appear exactly the way it was written on the court affidavit otherwise your legalization would be rejected as incomplete and you would have to pay another N200k to the embassy for the lawyer to go and verify only your birth certificate after you have corrected it.

1. But please my first question was that, for a particular document, example WAEC result, how many photocopies should I take along while going to Ministry of education for verification.

2. For my verifications at the Ministry of Education and also at Foreign affairs, I will have to request for permission to be absent from work (Travel from Lagos), they cant really give me much days, like how many days is it likely going to take to verify my documents at both ministries. (I will also appreciate if you have contacts that can assist at the ministries).

Thanks to all those that are helping people here. I have checked all the pages in this thread, but please I have a few question.

1. Please how many copies of documents are we supposed to authenticate/legalized (example BSC result, 1 photocopy or 2 photocopies)? if more than one, do we need them for other purpose than school & Visa

2. Is Primary School Document compulsory for the application may be at the school or for Visa?

3. Please how long does the Verification at Ministry of education can take and also at the Ministry of foreign affairs. I will be travelling from Lagos, so I want to know how much days I should prepare to lodge at the Hotel. I tried to use agents but 1. its risky to send Original documents to people you dont know, also their prices are too much. One of them even said 90K for Verification at MOE & MFA.

3b. If I go there myself, how much am I likely to spend?

4. I want to legalize affidavit of bachelorhood, should I also get & legalize the certificate of bbachelorhood?
