Career / It May Not Be New But It's Still True by Butterednuts(f): 10:56pm On Jun 29, 2018
Most motivational words you hear daily like the one you are about to read, may not be new to you but they still sound good, the messages are true and their impact is immeasurable.

Sometimes, we struggle with what we can't do because of one reason or the other. Perhaps, you know a bit about it, and now you think it's your talent. Not everyone is a professional hair stylist. You know that right? One may be able to do cornrows but when it comes to other styles, you step back for those who can. Due to lack of unemployment, you were forced to go learn the art of hair making. But, it didn't work out. Those close to you wonder why because to them, it's the simplest of things. Well, true to an extent. There is a common saying that whatever you learn, you become good at. But, this doesn't hold true for every skill. Regardless of this, your explanation still sounds like a latin recital. So, you keep away from them for however long it takes. They need time to figure it out. And not just that, they also need time to figure you out and themselves too.

What do you need to survive in this tough world? Is it simply a high I.Q, a well honed skill, or a talent? I think it's just having a hustling spirit. A die-hard attitude that keeps pushing you to your destiny, whatever it may be.

In today's world you don't necessarily have to be good at anything to make it. But, a marketable trait surely helps. With the right tone of voice, you may be the next radio jungle king. Some are blessed with a healthy lustrous hair, a beautiful face, or skin that can earn them an endorsement and open other money making avenues such as acting, a music video vixen job, a rich boyfriend or husband etc. A good body can also take you far. Think of fitness training, modelling, acting, bodyguard job, and more. Height can also do something. You may not be tall enough to be a basketballer but short enough to get noticed. Comedy skits, movies, or the circus aren't the only places where very short people are seen these days. But if you are lucky to be given a slot there, work hard at keeping it. Your brain can also take you far. Being gifted doesn't mean being exceptional at the sciences or mathematics or an art. If you are a good mechanic or plumber, you are brilliant. Isn't it your brain that is being utilized? It helps the hands in doing what they should. Every skillful person out there regardless of how complex their honed skill is, makes use of their brain.

Undervaluing human resources is a colossal mistake some keep making. I didn't realize this too until much later, after reaping the consequences. Not one but a few faithful ones who can go to the ends of the earth for you. They don't even need to be friends. But they need to be useful to you.

A brand can only be known by exposure. Someone needs to spread the word. The brand may not go viral but it wouldn't be stagnant either. Some progress would have been made. Anyone can do it. You don't have to be a popular social media influencer to put in a good word for someone else or a particular product you like. Money can push a brand or product. Grease some palms to sing your praise. If you don't have that, tell someone to tell another. If you are in a circle where lifting others is practiced, all it takes is you telling them what you do for a living or the book you just wrote, or how good a carpenter you are. Like I said, if it's a good circle, they would employ your services, or buy a copy of your book for themselves and others, whether it's the most awful thing they've read in a while or not. There are many promote me and I'll promote you groups all over the globe.

What if you know nobody? That's ok. Your work may speak for you. Someone or some people may be pleased with what you've done and spread the word. If it's your destiny, somehow it would happen.

Let's assume you don't have good looks, no talent, no skills, no brains, no money, nothing at all. What do you do? Well, you know your ABCs? If you do, publish a book on the alphabet, make it colorful. Or pray for a breakthrough. Promote other people's talent, products, or services on your social media page, by copying other promoters catchy ad phrases online and before you know it, they would start approaching you for ad placement.

Lastly, I believe we were all made for a purpose, only some are yet to discover theirs. Whatever you have a passion for may not be enough to meet up with life's demands. When you discover the purpose of your existence, you'll know because you wouldn't need to be pushed any further. Nowadays, most people only care about paying bills. Whatever can pay your bills might just be all you need to get you through life at the moment. But, if you hunger for more, then go get it.

Good luck!

Health / Matrix Sunglasses Are Bad For Your Eyes by Butterednuts(f): 5:34pm On Jun 19, 2018
Matrix-style sunglasses aren’t so good for your eyes. They expose them to ultraviolet rays which can damage your eyes and worst still lead to vision loss with time.
That said, most of us already know what to look for when buying sunglasses. For instance,

*Cushioned nosepads that don't slip nor slide when you're sweaty

*100% UV protection

*Sturdy frame

*Scratch resistant

*Stylish and Comfortable

*Wind and dust resistant

But, what about colour? Do you just pick any colour or do you follow certain rules? So, I got the wordy tips below from wikiHow on how to shop for the right coloured spectacles. Have fun reading it.

When shopping for sunglasses, you should think about what type of lens is best for your lifestyle. Shopping around to find the pair that fits you best is important, but you should also factor in your daily activities, such as driving, exercising, and medical care. For some people, however, lens color is purely a fashion choice, and so you might want to think about what color looks best on you.

Method One of Three:

Trying Out Your Options

Try on different colors. You might find that certain colors are more comfortable for your vision than others. While shopping for new sunglasses, you should try on pairs with various lens colors. Many opticians and sunglass stores will carry lenses in various shades that you can try on. You may find that there are certain differences between these colors, such as:

Gray, brown, and green lenses are neutral. They decrease glare and eyestrain without distorting colors.
Yellow, amber, and orange lenses increase contrast, but they may distort color. They also block out blue light, which some believe may be harmful for the eyes.
Red or rose tinted glasses increase contrast, but they distort color more strongly than other shades.
