I am presently at the UBA 2026 AGM and shareholders are just falling over themselves singing praising of Tony Elumelu, instead of asking critical questions.

This here is the most probable reason access bank is still pending, CBN has rejected the results and access is not having none of it because they just want to pay dividend at all cost since there was no interim

mikeapollo:
I think CBN might have rejected the accounts and the bank has gone back for amendment or review
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 1:08pm On Apr 30
I don comot mind from access since the UBA disappointment.

They should do whatever they like.

The delay is for a reason, nothing seems to be coming

megawealth01:
See as access made me wake up as early as 4am few hours ago...

ACCESS which way? grin

UBA has taken their AGM to virtual, they cannot afford to hold a physical meeting now, so that shareholders do not gather to beat them grin

The event of this UBA no show correctly indicate that Nigerians like their dividends especially on those reliable dividend stocks, they dont want any excuse.

I was expecting some good money from UBA sha, it pained me too

Codevalley:
Another bleeding awaits UBA tomorrow grin
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 2:45pm On Apr 27
These banks are so systemically important to the NGX and even to the whole economy, UBA did not pay dividends red everywhere, meanwhile NB did not pay, no one notice that, even MTN didn't pay for two years, heaven did not fall, but now UBA, there is a contagion of red on the street
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 5:36pm On Apr 26
Making sure that even if you want to sell, where will you invest the cash.
grin
narite:
The funny thing is it might not be as bad as people expected. The market has a way of surprising people.

However, I can't help but wonder if Tony had released this result when people could still key into GTBank and Zenith dividend payments. That could have been a totally different story, but I guess Tony pays attention to the little details. cheesy

UBA AGM will be very hot, I see them doing virtual AGM to escape accountability
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 11:26pm On Apr 24
Access result will be out on or before 30th of April, at least on or around the same time like their q1 result, we will see then

only CBN will determine that one now

That last minute movement to 36+ wasn't coincidence
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 10:33pm On Apr 24
With CBN stress test on Banks coming in the month of April 2026, where insider loans are to be provided for 100% and classified as non- performing.

UBA is on a long thing, no dividends this year at all, till 2027 or beyond

Agbalowomeri:
One of those things bro

Guess they can now publish true results

Year end EPS not likely going above N10 so they can still pay N1 interim and N3 year end dividend
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 10:27pm On Apr 24
Zenith and GTBank have finally pulled away from other Banks, never to be caught again.

Nothing like FUGAZ again cheesy cool
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 2:49pm On Apr 24
Sincerely we need to talk about the impossible delay for UBA, Access, FIRST BANK results for FY 2025, this is now becoming worrisome.

What is really holding these results?

1st quarter results for 2026 are already trickling in, yet CBN is yet to approve 2025 results for blue ship banks.

Ridiculous

Hitting a billion status on the NGX is very possible, it depends on volume of cash you are using to invest, don't forget we are not all the same on this forum.

It is like CBN is approving one Bank result per week, at this rate, some Banks result for FY2025 may not be ready until June this year oooo.

This is not nice nau, anyways I believe UBA and Access should be out before the end of this month.

nedu666:
Another week has ended, nothing from access bank. Its like they want to replace first bank as the last to report earnings

NGX Market capitalisation has crossed $100B for the first time ever, very very interesting times on the exchange.

The race to $200B begins immediately with Dangote refinery listing looming larger than life.

Cheers to more prosperity to us all
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 12:41pm On Apr 15
#2 will be scandalous to be very frank.

Anything less than #3 will lead to share price depreciation.

In 2024, they did a total of #2.50 (interim and final), they should pity shareholders and do something better biko

ojeysky:
Access should do at least 2 naira but this one their result is taking forever to be released is what I don't understand
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Byankee: 11:58am On Apr 15
Isn't it ironic that both Zenith and GTCO are trading #100 above the price of access bank?

Meanwhile Access Bank has the largest balance sheet in Nigeria banking industry?

Let Access bank tear good profit and dividend, then movement will be supersonic, if only wishes are horses

Banks results coming so late started with this Cardoso CBN, April is now becoming the new normal for FY results to be released, they are forming as if they know how to scrutinise Banks.

Back in the days, we used to have some FY results in February of the following year.

CBN can be more efficient I beg, time is of essence

Utalinmou:
CBN should release all the banks result, whats this wait all about?

Proposed Dividend:
The Board of Directors proposes the declaration of a dividend derived from the Bank’s earnings for the
current financial year, underscoring the Bank’s robust operating results. This recommendation is subject to
ratification at the Annual General Meeting. In accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines, the dividend
shall be distributed exclusively from the audited profits for the year ended 31 December 2025, and not from
accumulated reserves. This approach is consistent with the Bank’s established dividend policy and is
designed to deliver continued value to shareholders

Pursuant to the authority vested by Section 426 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020, the Directors
recommend a dividend of 125 kobo per share, payable from retained earnings as at 31 December 2025, in
full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Compliance with the CBN Circular on Dividend Payment
The proposed dividend payment complies with the requirements set forth in the CBN Circular on Internal
Capital Generation and Dividend Payout Ratios.
The Directors hereby seek to pay dividend based on the following justifications:
• The Bank has substantially complied with all provisions of the CBN Circular on dividend payments and
is not in breach of any regulatory requirements.
• The proposed dividend distribution will not have an adverse impact on any of the Bank’s key financial
ratios.
• The dividend proposal has undergone a thorough review and has been duly approved by the Board of
Directors, following a comprehensive risk assessment and careful consideration of prevailing economic
conditions.

*the above is excerpt from wema bank FS, to declare dividend now is war, CBN is choking the banks*

If this is the best stunt WEMA Bank can pull, why is it then trading above my ACCESSBANK ? No matter the London properties acquired by the Late Wigwe i don't see ACCESSBANK paying any dividend less than N2.00k. People just sit in the comfort of their bedroom and start hyping a stock. We continue to await the results of Banks.[/quote]

We will come back to this message in two weeks or thereabout.

I remembered Jim Ovia promising a quantum leap in dividend in FY2025, they have already cleaned their book by half year 2025 and they will do over 1TRN in PAT by FY2025, pure profit, not any revaluation gain.

If they do 40% payout, do the maths
