ProfGday: The public should beware of misinformation like the above. Do your research don't allow stupid fools to scam you of ur hard earn money.
NBC shares and Nigerian Stock Exchange have been a conduit for scamming the public since thieves such as Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke,Dangote took over since 2000-2010 upward. These two wrecked the lives of shareholders. My family was a big victim of their greed and kleptomaniac behaviors.
It shall never be well with them all. can u throw more light on how much you lost please |

spiceadole: You don't know what's going on.
My very first work as a doctor in the teaching hospital as housemanship,I worked 247 for 7 days straight.
I fainted one of those days cos I didn't eat for over 20 hours.. and nobody cared. No time.
I immediately realised everything was wrong with the system, took my foreign exams and moved.
I'm at peace now, working in a saner clime.
I'm however very sad about this Dr Femi's death. I knew him personally...He was a very respectful and lovely personality.
The very painful aspect is that he had passed his foreign exam and was just preparing to japa.
May his soul RIP. A very useless people who occupy a position of authority begins to copy n implement stupid rules.. How will a brain that hasn't slept coordinate correctly?. Is he not putting the life of patients at risk?? Such practices should be shame |

spiceadole: You work 8am to 4pm,then continue 4pm to 8am the following day..Then 8am again same day to 4pm again..and so on..till the number of days you are expected to work.
98% of doctors in the teaching hospitals do this. It's "Normal Duty"(8am to 4pm) + "Call duty"(4pm to 8am) Weekend call is 48 hours already..8am Saturday to 8am Monday and you continue your normal Monday work till 4pm. If you were on call on Friday,as it was the case with this doctor,it means you will work 8am Friday to 4pm Monday .. Continuously. I suffered it too. I almost quit,if not for the opportunity to japa. Whoever that does this to his follow human deserves to be in prison. How on earth do we subject human to this form of degradation? |

Emary: What I described is the reality of a 72hrs call. Even the bath, if you're have time, it's like a 5-10 minute shower. Not every shift will be so busy, but often you won't get the time to go off. If you take time to go far to do those things and any emergency happens, you get blamed for it by both your bosses and the patients and their relatives. Why do you think it is so exhausting that someone could die from it? Then if they die they signed up for it no one to blame. U rather take keke and be riding than put ur self at risk. |
Health › Re: Death Of Dr Femi Rotifa; Medical Experts Advocate Regulated Working For Doctors by Bylaw: 4:30pm On Sep 02, 2025 |
jaephoenix: Lol 😆 U don't know anything. Doctor call rooms have bathrooms. Sometimes you don't even bathe after ward rounds but dive into clinic the next day No u rather don't know anything because how can ur eyes be opened for 24hrs straight without sleeping? That means as a doctor and u agreed to such condition without a gun to ur head then u have ur head examine because u are playing with high blood pressure, heart disease and soo many unspeakable things |
Health › Re: Death Of Dr Femi Rotifa; Medical Experts Advocate Regulated Working For Doctors by Bylaw: 2:40pm On Sep 02, 2025 |
Emary: Yes, that is the job. The most you can do is doze. If patients come, you get up. The first call I did, I dozed for only about 15 minutes on the 3rd day. It was an extremely busy shift. That is generally the nature of medical work. You can't sleep properly while on duty, and whatever you meet on shift, you handle it as it comes. In a teaching hospital, there are usually no slow periods. It is the last bus-stop for the worst cases, so no breaks. Even eating meals is difficult so I usually carried biscuts in my pockets because there was no time to leave to go eat. sometimes, you're on the toilet and they're looking for you. No that's not a job. The body demand u rest after 12hrs shift max. What u are describing is opening ur eyes for straight 24hrs or 72hrs straight no sleep So how do u baf? That means doctors will be smelling. |

Emary: Yes, it's 72 hours straight. I have personally done it several times. If you have to make time to sneak out and clean yourself, but really, no one cares. Officially, you are on the clock and responsible for all the lives and cases brought in. How can you work 72hrs straight no sleep? U dont understand what i mean. Like go to work 6am to 6pm today and then continue 6pm today to 6am the next day? |
