This is arrant nonsense from all these Yoruba, hausa and other nigerian minority folks. When it's to kill Igbo people by any means, that's what unites you foolish nigerians. Until other Yoruba dominated markets are closed on such idiotic excuse, then you people can come back here to talk. As for now, this is pure and complete witch hunting of Igbo business, trying your other means to check mate the ever expanding Igbo Business.
So much ranting and no sense at all. Just when we were getting civillized you come up with such Bull sh!t. how brillant. I just hope this thread will not be locked because of u as it happened to the other one.

The truth is, whatever reason u have and no matter how justified it is by other people of ur kind, PAY YOUR TAX OR GET CLAMPED

@ Amaka

Dont waste your energy any futher; you have done your best. Most of them arguing and blaming the government dont even stay in Lagos or are in lagos but dont pay tax.

This whole thing dont mean much to them. so dont sweat it any more.

I asked them earlier what their defence is for some one charged to court for tax evasion and no one could come up with even a stupid answer. so just leave them in their ignorance but one thing i know, if you do not pay tax in lagos, u will be brought down! if you dont believe it go ask the computer villagers.

and this is just the start

I have one question for you all including kobo

If a person doing business in alaba is taken to the court for tax evasion, what will be you defence if you were to represent him in court. If you cant answer that, shut the hell up on this thread!
Politics › Re: Help! Alaba Market To Be Shut Down by cabali(m): 11:39pm On Nov 27, 2008
I dont know what kinda clowns we gat in this NL.

One of them says the alaba boys pay tax when they import. does that mean they wont pay Tax. Is it only Tax they are su[pposed to pay? dont u know they still get the VAT back when they cost their goods?

The Shops at the palms pay VAT also when they import. Dont they still pay tax to the government for doing business in the state? you guys must have lost all your minds and it seems there is no education here that will make sense to y'all.

Because it is ALABA then they should not pay tax.

Look whether y'all like it or not, you must pay your tax or else The government will lock you down and not even Gani will support you in court.

CLOWNS!!!

My friend what do you mean by undergraduate. So if u are an undergraduate and you make money of some sort of business in a state you are not suppose to pay tax?

well mayb you dont know any better; I suggest you go read off abt tax and stuff, then you will understand. Who taxed students and where did u hear that?

How can you ask if robbers should pay tax? is that a legitimate job? should they not be arrested?

In fact why am i wasting a post on this??

leaves with a middle finger up

@

It is too bad that must of us are quick to quote foreign text books and our laws copied from other countries laws (US & UK) as if the people that wrote these books and laws are not humans like us. Why? don't we do things that are pragmatic and pertinent to our situation.

Must manufacturing and small scale businesses in Nigeria have shut down or are barely surviving because of over taxation and poor sorry no power supply and some of you are happy that the government wants to put the few that are surviving out of business.

When there are no more businesses who will the government tax then huh.
My friend dont come here and say things without using the right part of ur body to think. So because Fashola has inherited the issue of people not using tax to develope then that makes it right for people not to pay their tax?

I pay my tax monthly and it aint a low sum. if people dont pay theirs then they are robbing us that do! as we continue to pay our tax irrespective, does that make us fools??

For the mere fact that people still pay their taxes, those that dont should be thrown in jail. Mayb you dont pay taxes but trust me if u dont, a time will come you will be caught and your ideology wont save you.

rubbish!!

I concur!!

Every year I calculate what I pay as tax and have been doing so for years. It is quite high but I pay that very well. If anyone should complain about the misuse of tax then it should be us who pay so much to the government.

But even at that I will not complain because fashola started well and is doing well so far; and I will gladly continue to pay tax to his administration afterall i have people doing the same in other states and there is no improvement of any sort. So yeah, I will keep paying and those that don't pay are cheats to us that pay and should be shut down with fat chains.

What I can say is that before it is too late, the marketers should put their books together, if they owe, they should go and pay up or else ikeja will repeat in alaba and all they can do is curse and complain but they will stay closed.

As for the piracy issue, it is about time cause you have all these artiste in the country do so well only to get robbed by piracy. So I am down with the curbbing of that!

Fashola is a lawyer and an intelligent one at that, he has his act together if not you will have people like Gani or Festus keyamo attack him.

Sincerely I think the writters are loosing it. I think the strike has affected their skills with this series!

Of what importance is the part of Hiro loosing 3 quarters of his memory? Peter loosing his powers which we all know will be got back or he will just not die.

the next thing Isaac mendes will be brought back to life by some ideology.

i am getting annoyed by the episodes. If it ends badly, I am out!!

@ fyne

Dont mind them. There is nothing they can do about this. The guy is still performing, Lagos cant be sanitized in a year easily nut the guy's progress has shown he will achieve a lot by the time we will be gearing to vote him in again.

Yáll get used to Fashola cos he will be here for a while.
Business › Re: Entire Computer Village Shut Down Over Tax by cabali(m): 11:49am On Nov 24, 2008
I have said it before. Those that dont like fashola's way of governing can, like fashola said, LEAVE LAGOS

Is it a must to do business in lagos?

Go to port harcourt; you cant do that rubbish. The council boys will lock u up before the governor knows about it.

In the US, the shops are not losked up, they ar seized by the government and the defaulters are thrown in jail. so what are the clowns here talking about?

do u realixe that there are more morons in this country than we know.

just read this thread! even people who live abroad and are supposed to be enlightened are saying all sorts of garbage.

tell me why the IRS is feared. that's cos if u don't pay tax, u are no just shut down, u r thrown in jail. can't anyone there pay the tax of as low as N2,500 a year?

I feel they that didn't pay should be prosecuted too! then the clowns on this thread who disagree should be arrested.
