Politics / Obasanjo Is Politically Irrelevant, Not A Member Of The PDP --dogara Unyem by caesar01(m): 8:59pm On Sep 14, 2016
The Nigerian ex president Olusegun Obasanjo who served as commander in chief during the PDP's first eight years in affairs is gradually displacing his praise not only within the peoples democratic party but also in the hearts of right thinking politically related Nigerians.

To begin with, is the fact that Obasanjo publicly came out to tell Nigerians that he and other concerned individuals brought President Buhari to power. The same administration that is leading Nigeria to an endless pit, the same administration built on lies and propaganda, the same government that governs Nigeria in 2016 like it was at 1985. Obasanjo is glad and proud of installing a government that has brought down a nations economy from being the first in Africa as at may 2015 to recession just within the first 15months.

Furthermore, OBJ must end his baseless comments on the peoples democratic party. If he(Obj) wants to play the position of an elder statesman, he do not necessarily have to always comment negatively on a party that made him. No one within the PDP actually cares about who burns or destroys his membership card anymore... especially when he is over 70+ and has less to offer. What OBJ needs to do now as an elder stateman is to remain at his hilltop in Abeokuta so as to recieve his fellow irrelevant politicians such as Ali sherrif whenever they come for political consultations or visits.

Finally, the peoples democratic party will therefore not be distracted by activities of some sided members of the party. The Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP is the recognised leadership of the opposition party and will therefore play a credible role of opposition towards reclaiming power comes 2019 and returning back "power to the people".

stop displaying ignorance and talking bullshit! I might agree with you that Sherrif is a game spoiler picked by the APC... but Makarfi is here to fix things only for 3months... people like you only make useless noise without understanding the psychology of Northern affair and Nigerian politics...

baby124:

That is because PDP tries to do things upside down, and Mark did not object. They were also trying to compensate the north with Sambo. Saraki is the next in line if that should ever happen. I don't pray so though, as I don't wish Buhari any bad.

I think its simply because David mark is Christian... Jonathan also Christian ...so that's not possible in Nigeria!

Politics / Yobe Hospital Mgt Rejects PDP Reps Member Donations For Fear Of Punishment by caesar01(m): 9:15pm On Apr 17, 2016
A message "from Suleiman Abubakar to PDPrecovery"... Yobe state, Nigeria. 17.04.16

The management of the General
Hospital in Potiskum, Yobe state
rejected donations from a PDP
member of the House of
Representatives, Honourable
Sabo Garba.
According to LEADERSHIP, a
staff of the hospital who spoke
on the condition of anonymity
said that the management and
staff of the hospital believed that
they would be punished or lose
their jobs if they received the
items from the PDP member.
Reacting to the rejection, Hon.
Garba said, ''The state
government has failed to deliver
the campaign promises to the
citizens. ”If Yobe APC are
blaming PDP and rejecting
donations from its members,
while also blaming PDP for 16
years of misrule, then we will
start the change from my
constituency.
''What is wrong if I donated
equipment to the general
hospital, the hospital was built
since the time of late prime
minister, Sir Ahmadu Bello in
1956, and is in urgent need of a
face-lift. I personally sent my
own donation to help people of
the state irrespective of political,
religious and tribial differences.
I am just doing it in good faith in
order to promote our hospital.
The hospital is the eldest in the
northeast region, yet there is no
water or light, and there is a lack
of sufficient bed.”

Politics / 2019: Presidential Candidate Will Be Voted By All Party Members -PDP by caesar01(m): 9:03pm On Apr 17, 2016
2019: PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE WILL BE VOTED BY ALL PARTY MEMBERS...

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it was planning to apply option A4 in electing its candidates for all coming elections, including presidential
candidate for 2019 general polls.

It said that if approved by the membership of the party, the application of the method may begin with upcoming congresses of the party. National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, disclosed this when he received the former chairman of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) of
Ghana, Mr Peter Manu, at the party’s national secretariat on Friday in Abuja.

Metuh said that the decision was part of the reforms to reposition the PDP for the 2019 general elections. He said that the system would not be restricted to
presidential election as it would be applicable to others elective positions such as governorship, senatorial, house of representatives and down to the
wards.

He explained that with the proposed system, party members would have to queue behind the candidates of their choice.
“We are going to change our system to be that our presidential candidate would be voted for by all party members in the country. It would be at the ward level.

“We will no longer elect presidential candidate at the national convention. It will now be for every party member to vote for whoever would be our presidential candidate.
“Whoever would vie for our presidential ticket would have to tour the entire country before he can be elected.
“This is part of the reform we are coming up with.

“Basically, this would be the last convention where we would have people to be elected at the national convention. We are taking the party back to the
Nigerian people,’’ Metuh said.

He said that the proposed reform was part of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu’s committee’s recommendations on how to reform and reposition PDP. He added that the proposed amendments had been sent to the state chapters for their inputs in line with “our desire to have peoples opinion’’.

“After their inputs, the recommendation would be sent to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for approval.

Earlier, Manu had said that the process of electing presidential candidate was one of the reforms his party adopted after it lost election to opposition party
in Ghana in 2008.
“When we lost election, there was need to review and make amends and these amends led to some critical reforms in the party structure and organisation.
“We realised for example, that the modus operandi of how our presidential candidate was elected had a hand in why we lost the general election.

“There were as many as 17 presidential candidates in our 2008 contest when our incumbent president, John Kufor, was exiting and all the 17 presidential
candidate were running for votes from a mere 3,500 delegates.
“So, it was money, money, money until the day of congress,’’ he said.

With regards to the sambo factor which happens to have no past, present and future value in the state against Makarfi....
The Yakowa factor which still ties up with some die hard supporters of both men as they tend to allign together...
The APC factor in the state and in full control with PDP as opposition party...after the election defeat.
