Essential governance in Nigeria is mostly measured by character and the ability to use power to further better the lives of the populace.

Clearly, the political affiliation of a leader doesn't matter. For as long as he/she is a great performer, one who carries everyone along irrespective of religious and ethnic difference, one who is committed to securing the lives and properties of the people...

The history of democracy in Nigeria is incomplete without including the People’s Democratic Party… Haven ruled for over a decade and half, the party came to a point of defeat in 2015 when all odds turned against the biggest political party on the continent. The international community as well played a vital role to ensure that the then ruling party was brought to the ground by every means possible following –rapid corruption and insecurity as key areas.

It is no longer news that after the election lost, there came series of rifts, power tussle within the party that tends never to come to an end –not anytime soon… A divided PDP, with one side having the entire structures of the party as well as the support of the grassroots, -the other faction with nothing. Major Stakeholder of the party, consisting of PDP Governors, Legislators, past Governors and Ministers, state party chairmen, all pledge allegiance to the faction led by Sen. Ahmed Makarfi –so there is no dispute on who is PDP. Meanwhile, Ali Sheriff remains on his own.

On the 21st day of May, 2016, the convention that took place at Port-Harcourt, Rivers state, recognized Sen. Makarfi as the legitimate chairman –but will serve as caretaker and lead the party until a convention is organized to elect the new National working committee (NWC) of the party. The decision was taken after some stakeholders fell out with Ali Sheriff and his style of leadership towards uniting the party ahead of the 2019 elections, others fell out with Sheriff because he is ambitious, his agenda for the presidency is no news and fear he will manipulate the system so as to hijack the PDP ticket for 2019 presidential elections. However, concerned elites within the system are of the opinion that –In order to promote a stable democracy in Nigeria, we must be able to have a stronger opposition to checkmate the ruling party and to oppose them at every level they slip.

Over the past months, more concerned party leaders had been making consultations, interactions and taking decisions that will unite the party to grow stronger as a better opposition; these efforts had so far produced no results of course, even when the immediate past President GEJ met with both factions on resolving the crises and to find a way forward towards uniting the party. ALI SHERIFF CRASHED IT.
Considering the fact that the PDP constitution recognizes Sen. Makarfi as the legitimate chairman, sections 33(2) and 33(5b) of the PDP constitution states that –“The National convention shall be the supreme and controlling authority of the party within the limits prescribed in this constitution and it shall be the principal representative, policy making and administering body of the party” and “The national convention shall have and exercise authority to elect or remove the national officers of the party” respectively.

Furthermore, the consequence of recognizing Ali Sheriff as Chairman at the supreme court of law will only see the care-taker committee to be law abiding by accepting the outcome/judgement of the SC –but will further pave the way for them to defect and move on to a more preferred platform to maintain political relevance. Although, the BoT of the PDP had assured the supporters that there are no plans of either setting up a new platform or rebuilding the party with a different identity, the entire idea is said to be “restructuring the PDP for active role of opposition and winning elections in 2019 and beyond”. Meanwhile, party leaders still insist that –Unless both factions back-off the court of law and exercise a political solution to its problem, the party might fail to exist in the coming months and those interested in running for political offices will therefore have to seek other alternatives to obtain tickets and run for elections.

However, plans are already in place to dump the party if Sheriff is recognized by the law as the authentic chairman of the PDP –so as to guarantee a better political future and relevance. -Could the platform be “APDA” that had caused so much political concerns? -Could this be the new alternative that will trigger the active role of opposition in Nigeria?? We all have our political views and opinions that differs and only Time will tell! /p7iJUh-1v

Mr Writer, you should think straight instead because you actually speak like you wrote this on 7bottles of HARP.

Why attacking PDP/MAKARFI? ...No sane government negotiates with terrorists. No little group must hold Nigerian Government to ransome.

In Kaduna, El rufai detains people for criticizing his government.. meanwhile, forgets so soon that he did the same to OBJ, GEJ and now the fiction on his memo to PMB without being arrested or being detained. The governor is so into this evil exercise that he detains not only citizens and political opponents of the state but also does the same to traditional rulers who talks ill of his government.

However, we dont really think he (El rufai) should be at Kashim Ibrahim house, but the people of Kaduna state(north, south) thought otherwise ...so we will have to stand by him and pretend that it is all well "ONLY FOR KADUNA" until we meet at the ballot comes 2019.

Politics / Elrufai : The Tyrant Governor Of Our Time, kurama And Others At The Receiving End by caesar01(m): 2:05pm On Mar 26, 2017
-BY Tom Garba Garu.

It's Coming more glaring the tyranny leadership style of the Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir Elrufai is cycling around the ethnics nationalities in the State, His coming on board as a Governor has killed the passion of people on the supposed change, a yearning change which initially believed to be for good governance, poverty amelioration, progressive and rampant development.
Before now the red lines warnings and signals telling people in 2015 that this All Progressives Congress (APC) under which platform Elrufai rode to became the Governor of Kaduna state can never be the Messiah we are expecting to continue the good work started by People Democracy Party (PDP). The style of democracy practice in kaduna state by Elrufai is resulting sentiments and fueling disunity rather than the one we know and did enjoyed from the first, second and even the third republic, his type of democracy is purely a tyranny democracy with focus to ethnic nationalities who are predominantly the occupants of southern part of the state.
Elrufai has turned himself to a demagogue that loses his conscience to power ruling with all sense of impunity without recourse to be observing the rules enshrined in the tenets of democracy, a behavior that's turned him to be a little lower than a dictator and uncared leader.
Through out the last quarter of last years is one uprising of the other in various part of the state. It's either the Shiites in Zaria, the Northern part of the state or the uncontrolled attacks and killing of innocent people in so many communities in the southern part of the state that constituted eight LGAs senatorial District which are predominantly Christian.
His leadership is appearing to be in support of Fulani herdsmen who were identified by many as another face of Boko Haram in disguise. At various interviews with journalist He (Elrufai) admitted to know the Fulanis that are in the rampage of killing people in the Southern part of the state (Christians) and have equally paid them to stop the killing.
This is no doubt not clear to many well meaning Nigerians as well as other international communities for a leader to profess to have paid people with criminal offences against the feeble innocents ones who are not even consider to be compensated. He statements indicated that the governor knows them, and he paid them for a course only known to him not for the sake of humanity.
After agreeing to settle them the killing did not actually stop, continue to this moment where pockets of attacks are being almost recorded on a weekly basis. So it is good to boldly say that Governor Nasir paid them to continue massacring the harmless people of Southern Kaduna since the payment double the nefarious work of the Fulani militia. Is known world over, the governor is the enemy of any body that is not a Hausa /Fulani as there are no cogent effort made to stop the killing and uprising in the state.
Now Governor Elrufai is bend on not only settling (paying) them but he has gone to the level of defending them, of recent a paramount traditional monarch in Kurama land of Lere LGA in Saminaka, Dr Ishaku Damina was arrested and detained because of his good intentions to curtail any form of insecurity in his territory, he signaled to security agencies of influx of Fulani herdsmen around his domain who have no basis to there, and have not report to him of their coming, that simple act warrant the ruler to spend many days in police custody with a concluded arrangement to take the matter to court.
I'm confident to say that the coffers of the state's treasury that supposed to be evenly distributed for the sake of growth and development is now being used to settle and defend migrants criminals against the real owners of the land.
This is a clarion call to both Kurama and any indigene Of Southern Kaduna to safe guard our voters card, it's the only weapon of our warfare against the tyranny and injustice of leadership mettled In us. Our votes should count against any bad leader in APC, let's vote in people that have us at heart to defend us whatever party but not the likes of Elrufai. As It is now clearly seen and revealed to us that Nasir came with only one mission, to scuttle the grow and progress In our areas, he has come to trim up our political wings,to distablize us with lack of peace and our strengths are his weakness as such using his power to reduce us to nothing is a game plan for his political agenda.
Please let's us unite against this tyranny type of governance in our state, this is democracy we voted him because of democracy and the rule of democracy must take its course in kaduna.

March 26, 2017

A Youths group in Kaduna State under the auspices of “Akurmi Young professionals” are calling the attention of the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai to as a matter of good Governance to immediately release the chief of Kurama Chiefdom who was arrested and detained for blatant reasons.

In a press release issued to Journalists and signed by all its members where they stressed that the paramount ruler of Akurmi (Kurama) Land, Dr Ishaku Damina has been a peaceful Man,a virtue which was seen in him made Ahmed Makarfi led administration to turbaned him B’gwam Kurmi 2 after the demised of the first chief in other to lead Kurama people who are known to be peace loving people.

According to them the arrest is unwarranted as there are no basis as to why it was done so, rising poignant questions to the good behavior of the Chief to stampede the behavior of unrepentant criminals and people with questionable characters within his domain.

“Is it a crime to facilitate the arrest and handover a wanted criminal to a task force set by the government? or is it because the criminal is a Fulani man? Has it become a crime for a traditional ruler to work closely with security agencies in curbing kidnapping in his domain? Is the persecution an on-going ploy to give a dog a bad name to hang it, because of his insistence on our cultural affinity with the southern Kaduna and middle-belt indigenious nation? Is there a ploy to replace our Chief because of his patriotism in protecting our lands, culture, tradition and history? This and more questions begs for answers, and the government is on the best position to answer this questions.” The statement reads

“The Akurmi nation and others within his domain have enjoyed enduring peace and stability. His peace-building capacity has been on display in amicably preventing, managing and resolving disputes. In his track-record as a professional and traditional ruler, portray him as a law-abiding and peace-loving man.”

The statement continued to read that:”It beats our imagination that an ambassador of peace with a clean record will be charged for criminal conspiracy, assault and abduction by the Kaduna State Government. Ladies and gentlemen, how can a man who complemented the effort of the government in curbing insecurity by facilitating the arrest of the most wanted kidnapper in Kaduna and Kano, be accused of criminal conspiracy, assault and abduction?”

They further call for the sake of peace and unity there shall be an unconditional release of their paramount ruler, HRH Dr. Ishaku S. Damina in line with his fundamental human rights. And calling on the government to give an unreserved apology to both their chief and the Akurmi nation for desecrating their traditional institution in total contradiction of the United Nations Declaration on the Right of the Indigenous People (UNDRIPS, 2007).

“We hereby call on all to be law abiding and allow peace of love to reign in Akurmi land, reminding our people to remain calm and should not take the laws into their hands, as we will take all lawful approach to address the issue. We understand that the matter is presently in court, we therefore call on the judiciary as the last hope of the common man to ensure the trial of our dear chief is free and fair.” They said

Politics / Makarfi Vows To Displace Sheriff -11/03/17 by caesar01(m): 4:42am On Mar 11, 2017
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership crisis has taken another turn as Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, yesterday vowed to chase out National Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff.

Spokesman for his faction, Dayo Adeyeye, said it would be a disaster for the party to allow Sheriff preside over the planned convention.

It called Sheriff, “a snake under the party’s roof,” adding that the Caretaker Committee, in agreement with all organs and stakeholders in the PDP, would deploy all legal means to ensure that Sheriff is removed.

Asking Sheriff to stop parading himself as the chairman of the PDP, the Makarfi camp pointed out that the spirit and letter of the February 17 judgment of the Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal did not confer the chairmanship on the ex-Borno State Governor.

Adeyeye said: “To buttress this, the general public will also recall that the judgment of the Appeal Court, Port Harcourt Division of Friday, February 17, 2017 that nullified the national convention of May 21, 2016 limited itself solely to the legality or otherwise of the National Convention of May 21st, 2016 and not on the legality or otherwise of the appointment of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the Acting National Chairman of the PDP.

“Firstly, let us remind the public of our earlier calls on Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to stop parading himself as Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the judgement of an Abuja High Court delivered by Justice Valentine Ashi on June 29, 2016 in which the court nullified the 2014 Amendment to the PDP Constitution that produced Senator Sheriff as Acting National Chairman of the PDP.

“This judgment was never appealed by Senator Sheriff and the time frame stipulated by law for the appeal has elapsed and, as such, the judgment subsists.

“Another judgment delivered on August 17, 2016 by Justice Nwamaka Ogbonnaya of the FCT High Court in Abuja reaffirmed the ‘sack’ of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the chairman of the PDP on the ground that the judgment of Justice Valentine Ashi, which nullified his appointment, has not been set aside or vacated and therefore it’s subsisting.

“Justice Ogbonnaya further held that all actions taken by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff are null, void and of no effect; and the Order further restrained him from parading himself as the Acting National Chairman of the party.

“Once again, he is currently an illegal Acting National Chairman, given the decisions of the courts, the constitution of the PDP, decision of the National Convention coupled with his act of breaking and entering into the national secretariat of our great party.
“It is interesting to note that Senator Sheriff is very much aware of the binding implication of the subsisting judgments on his ‘status’ as national chairman because we have been reliably informed that he is now seeking the leave of court to appeal the judgment. But, unfortunately, time is against this latter move. So, he is an illegal national chairman.”

Politics / Peace Plan For The Pdp - 08/03/17 by caesar01(m): 2:08am On Mar 08, 2017
A peace plan has been drawn up for the troubled opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It includes conditions for a national convention to be presided over by the National Chairman, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff. The convention is tentatively slated for June 30.
According to the party’s Reconciliation Committee, the National Convention Planning Committee (NCPC) to be set up by Sheriff must draw its membership from all the organs of the party and other key stakeholders.
The chairman of the committee, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, submitted its report to Sheriff at the party’s secretariat yesterday.
Speaking with reporters shortly after submitting the report, Dickson said an acceptable convention remained the ultimate resolution to the party’s leadership crisis.
Listed as members of the NCPC are seven governors, seven senators, 12 members of the House of Reps, six members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and six national vice chairmen.
Others are 18 zonal chairmen, six speakers of state assemblies; six former governors, former presiding officers of the National Assembly, six prominent women leaders, six youth leaders, six former ministers and 12 others to be nominated by Sheriff in consultation with key stakeholders.
The governor added that even after the Supreme Court must have ruled on the appeal filed against Sheriff by the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee, the party must go for the convention.
He said Sheriff too was in support of the proposed convention, just like other stakeholders, adding however that mutual mistrust and lack of faith in the present leadership of the party remained an issue.
The governor urged other elective party office holders who are still holding on to their positions to let go and seek a fresh mandate in the planned convention.
The Dickson report was however silent on whether Sheriff would be eligible to renew his mandate through the convention, where new party leaders are expected to emerge.
Dickson restated the party’s determination to explore every avenue to resolve its crisis through political solutions, without prejudice to the appeal pending at the Supreme Court.
Sheriff said the report/proposal submitted by Dickson would be considered or reviewed by the National Working Committee under his leadership.
Virtually all the party organs and stakeholders listed by Dickson as members of the convention planning committee are opposed to Sheriff’s chairmanship of the party.
Also yesterday, Sheriff called on workers at the party secretariat to resume duties.
The secretariat was opened for Sheriff last month after it was sealed off by the police in June 2015, at the peak of the leadership crisis.
A statement yesterday by Mr. Bernard Mikko for Sheriff, described the Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee as a “dissident group” that has been proscribed by the law.
It accused the workers of taking sides against their condition of service, which requires them to be apolitical and loyal to the leadership of the party.
It said: “Members of the PDP Welfare Association and indeed all committed staff of the national secretariat who have not resumed duties should immediately get back to work, as they are neither on trial nor involved in any crisis or litigation necessitating any form of political or legal solution to resolve.
“The belligerent stance and the series of communiques issued by some members of staff indicate clearly that they have positioned themselves at the centre of political conflagrations involving their bosses against their terms and conditions of employment.
“The dissident group which they pretend to profess their loyalty had been proscribed by law and legally dead. Any attempt to resurrect a dead horse will only amount to superstition and largely futile.”
“Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and the entire NWC are committed to bringing the party to fame to the realisation of the dreams of the founding fathers and should be supported to do so”, the
“Failure to heed this call will attract disciplinary procedures as the staff are deemed to be conversant with their terms and conditions of employment, particularly the PDP Establishment Manual that stipulates that they remain apolitical,” the statement added.

Politics / You Are Free To Decamp To Other Political Parties--makarfi Tells Pdp Members by caesar01(m): 7:44pm On Mar 06, 2017
The sacked Chairman, National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has said members of the party are free to join other political associations to realise their political ambition.

He said neither him nor any member of the caretaker committee had, however, joined the proposed Advanced Peoples Democratic Party.

There have been reports that some politicians in the Makarfi camp are behind the move to register the APDP as a rival political party to the PDP, which is now under the leadership of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

The party, which has been in a crisis for more than a year now, has been further polarised since the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division, pronounced Sheriff, the former governor of Borno State, as the authentic national chairman of the PDP.

Though Makarfi had appealed the judgment, former President Goodluck Jonathan had stepped into the crisis with a promise to a find political solution to the protracted leadership tussle.

With a new political party about to be registered, which has the resemblance of the PDP, there are insinuations that one of the camps may not be sincere with the proposed deal.

Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State, has nevertheless exonerated himself and members of his committee from those seeking the registration of the new political party.

Speaking through the spokesperson for the caretaker committee, Dayo Adeyeye, Makarfi said his committee would not abandon the PDP for Sheriff.

Adeyeye, a former Minister of State for Works, said in a statement in Abuja, on Sunday, that the “National Caretaker Committee has no hands in the purported planned registration of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Party.”

He added, “We state clearly and without ambiguity that the National Caretaker Committee of the PDP is not, in any way, involved in the plans to register any party by the name of APDP or any other party for that matter.

“It is unthinkable that the National Caretaker Committee, which, without any doubt, enjoys the support of all the recognised organs of the party, will contemplate such a move.

“We, however, acknowledge and recognise the right of party members to seek alternative platform to actualise their political dreams, which is an inalienable right guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Politics / #istandwithNigeria:Government, And The Cause For 'political Correctness' -du.czr by caesar01(m): 3:37am On Feb 05, 2017
The reason some African states are failing is simply as a result of -Governments depending more on 'political correctness' rather than bringing back and keeping intact the spirit of nationalism which unfortunately died along with the likes of Sardauna Ahmadu Bello, Jomo Kenyatta, Anwar Sadat, Madiba amongst others who lived and died for the purpose of a more progressive black continent -beyond politics, and towards building of great nations.

In the case of having majority of a nations support on speaking against the government, its only logic for the government to be on the offensive and therefore may decide to use the force agencies as tools to cripple all efforts. We all saw how such happened in Egypt with regards to the arab spring, South Africa with Apartheid and even with the case of Biafran Nnamdi Kanu. My point is -No government can easily beat your struggle to the ground while you've got behind you the support of the nations citizens intact. infact, i think Not even the DSS or National police force has the constitutional right to arrest or distrupt a peaceful protest/struggle.

However, we as Citizens do admire and thank the efforts being made by some nationalists towards a more progressive country of our dreams. Knowing fully well that these fellow great men and women never actually decided to terminate the planned protest or the struggle, -but so clear that government forward threats to keep shut the voice of millions in a society were all does not feel right. The government can force stop the voice, but cant do same to the Votes.
