Hey guys, my ad-free music player Lumeno just got a major update! The biggest highlight is the new dynamic Theme Center, featuring a crazy spinning Disco Ball with radiant light effects, retro neon flows, and a smoother vinyl animation. I also added Crossfade, Gapless playback, and faster track-switching without the lag. Try turning your phone screen into a dance floor and let me know how it runs! ![]() https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lyxolab.lumeno

Thanks for the support and kudos! Plenty more improvements coming soon. bamdly: |
Update: Prismatic Flow! Instead of a static backdrop, this theme brings silky, glowing light strands that gently twist and pulse across the dark background. The idea was to create a mesmerizing, ambient visualizer feel that lets the controls pop while you listen late at night. Super clean, minimal on battery, and deeply atmospheric. Let me know what you guys think of this vibe! ✨

Hey Nairalanders, Pushing performance to the limit took longer than expected, but Lumeno Player V1.2 is finally live! ![]() My main focus this round was raw speed. Lumeno supports a clean, complete exit. Even after a total close, cold startup is noticeably faster than most players, and tapping a song starts playback instantly without hitching. Please test scrolling and playing on your phones—I really need your honest feedback to see if any lag remains. What's new in V1.2: Artists & Albums: Browse by artist or album from the home tabs, complete with detail pages and editable covers/portraits. Playback Queue: Reorder tracks, swipe to delete, and toggle loop modes. Tap the animated playing bar at the top-right to instantly jump back to the current track. Two New Skins: Added Retro Wave (80s sunset & horizon) and Prismatic Flow (electric prism light) for a fresh visual vibe. Deep Performance & Bug Fixes: Heavy tuning on startup, smooth list scrolling, and multiple community-reported fixes. Give Lumeno a run and let me know how the scrolling and speed feel on your device! ![]() https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lyxolab.lumeno&pcampaignid=web_share

Added a quick volume control shortcut in the bottom-left corner of the player—feel free to give it a try! CaptainJune: |
Added the folder feature! You can now freely mark folders with custom colors or hide them. CaptainJune:

In the new version, lyrics can now be displayed in full screen! ![]() Iamnotafraid: |
Hi guys, I just released a new update for the ad-free music player I shared here before — Lumeno Player https://www.nairaland.com/8712881/built-own-clean-ad-free-local I got some helpful feedback from the first version. To be honest, performance was one of the areas that needed more work, so I spent most of this update making the app smoother. Moving between pages, animations, and player controls should all feel better now. I also added folder management, so you can organise your music your own way — change folder colours or hide folders you don’t need. There are two new player themes too: a Vinyl style and a more futuristic HyperDrive style. I wanted the player to feel nice to look at while you’re listening, not just functional. Lyrics can now be viewed full screen, and there is a quick volume control on the player screen. It is still completely ad-free and made for the music already saved on your phone. If you try the update, please let me know how it works on your device. Honest feedback is welcome — it really helps me improve it. Search Lumeno Player on Google Play.

The search and add-to-queue features are already available in the app. ' add Play Next' is currently under development and will be added in a future update." ![]() weezydee: |
Okay, I will consider how to add volume control to the menu. CaptainJune: |
Thank you for the feedback! Folder support will be available in the next version. Quick question regarding the volume control: is there a specific reason you prefer it in-app? Can the physical buttons not handle it well for your use case? CaptainJune: |
The next version will be presented in full screen, making it look much more comfortable. ![]() Iamnotafraid: |
Is having album art important to you, or do you actually prefer not showing it? |
I’m curious about how people here listen to offline music on their phones.Do all your songs have covers, or only a few? |
Building a offline music player isn't reinventing the wheel, but writing every line of code, designing the UI from scratch, and keeping it completely ad-free is a fun challenge. Kaczynski: |
Thanks bro, hope so 23jerryking: |
I'm not quite sure what you mean by distortion here, which app are you comparing it with? Let me know and I'll check it out! and I love the spinning CD and retro cassette skin ideas though, added those straight to my design list! ![]() jamesjude: |
English is not my native language; I used a translation tool. naturalwaves: |
Ah, gotcha! Man, I totally agree with you on that. Building an app isn't the hardest part—building one without chasing aggressive monetization is where it gets rare. Big tech exists for profit, but Lumeno exists to stay simple, fast, and 100% honest. For me, Lumeno is just a clean offline tool. The moment I bloat it with ads or user tracking, it loses the exact reason why I built it in the first place. ![]() SixSeven: |
Haha appreciate you looking out! But legally speaking, Lumeno is just a tool like other local audio player. It does not host, stream, scrape, cache, or distribute any audio files or metadata. It only plays files that are already saved on your own phone. So copyright-wise, it's 100% clean and fully legal! 👊 MemoriesAndMe: |
Spot on! Offline music gives you total ownership—no sub fees, no missing tracks, zero data, and pure high quality. Thanks for the support! 🎵 Waterlilly:

Haha don't worry bro! Zero pop-up ads, zero loans, 100% clean for you. Enjoy! 😂 bamdly: |
Wow, TTPOD is a classic! 🚀 Folder view and multi-select queuing are both solid suggestions—I've added them directly to my roadmap for upcoming updates. Stay tuned! TheMensch: |
Try searching "Lumeno" "Lumeno Player" 👊 Starboytwo:

Ah, the Equalizer is actually already in the app! 🎛️ Just tap the icon with five vertical bars to the left of the "Previous Song" button on the player screen. You can tweak manual settings or pick presets there—give it a try! As for Streaming URL: technically it's easy to add, but it might trigger compliance/policy issues with Google Play store reviews. I've noted it down and will research how to handle it safely without risking the app. Thanks for the input! 👊 Shellsploit:

Thanks bro! Appreciate the support! 👊 HimName: |
Haha, long-term, I just want to keep refining it! My main motivation was actually to make song cover art look better, which is why I built the custom visualizers and skins—and I'll keep adding more.As for selling it... honestly, I don't think anyone would buy a tool that stays forever ad-free anyway! SixSeven: |
Thanks a lot bro! Seeing Lumeno running smoothly on your device made my day. Enjoy and let me know if you have any suggestions for future updates! 👊 SamAGM: |
Rebelutionary: Thanks bro! Since it's brand new, Google Play is still indexing it so direct search can be tricky right now.You can try searching full name "Lumeno", "Lumeno Player", or just grab it directly from our link: lyxolab.com/lumeno Let me know how it runs on your device! 👊 |
