Bhamz:
Good morning everyone.

Please does anyone know when the BLS site will be open for appointment booking this month? I was told to check at the end of the month but to no avail.

You took one huge risk, but am so glad smiley it paid off for you, Congratulations, if they weren't going to give you 10yrs the won't deny you completely, they would have given a shorter length of stay and explained why but with no refund, I read it somewhere on their blog. Like you advised people shouldn't take this kind of risk, its rare you are one lucky people I must say, I advise one goes from 6months to 2yrs to 10yrs

Visa Alert!!!
10 years Standard Visitor visa
TLS Ikeja

Previous UK travel history (6 months)
Application and payment date - 31st May 2022
Biometrics date - 9th June 2022
Transfer to DMC - 9th June 2022
Received by DMC - 14 June 2022
Transferred to VAC - no mail, no information as per tracking
Received by VAC - no mail, no information as per tracking
Collection Mail - Twice on 13th & 14th July 2022
Collected - Today, 15th July 2022

Interestingly the Visa was issued 5th of July (a day before the proposed travel date of 6th of July). So they tried for me to make my trip but perhaps the TLS logistics failed them. Painfully I forgot to cancel my hotel booking and was debited cry

I was honestly worried I might not be given 10 years especially because I went straight from 6 months, but I was just tired of what I went through while renewing my passport and the chaos I witnessed when driving pass the TLS Ikeja earlier this year; it was pure madness. So decided to be out of the mess for 10 years; and boom it paid off.

Key points:
I was very open and truthful; I was once denied a Canada visa and I was open about it. I stated I do not understand why the visa was denied but I believed the visa officer must have made an error in denying me the Canada visa.
I explained every transaction not supported by my payslip; including ATM reversals of 10k - i was that detailed.
I had a good bank balance and was ready for them.
I believe I have a good job as well - this is relative though.

This experience has proven that you can go straight for 10 years from 6 months; but I will still not advice anybody to do it as the visa officer has the right to reduce the length of visa granted. I would say I was lucky with my gamble.

Please if you want to pickup your passports, please go early ooo, I was there for over 3 hours. the queue was out of this world.

Thanks and have a good evening. See you in 10 years grin grin grin

You are one of the good men on this thread, thank you Sir

giselle237:
I will be posting it one by one for them to see by themselves.

The following factors will help you assess if an applicant is a genuine visitor:
• their previous immigration history, including visits to the UK and other countries
• the duration of previous visits and whether this was significantly longer than they originally stated on their visa application or on arrival - if this is the case, you should not automatically presume that the visitor is not genuine, but this may be a reason to question the applicant’s overall intentions
• their financial circumstances as well as their family, social and economic background
• their personal and economic ties to their country of residence
• the cumulative period of time the applicant has visited the UK and their pattern of travel over the last 12-month period, and whether this amounts to ‘de-facto’ residence in the UK
• whether, on the balance of probabilities, the information and the reasons for the visit or for extending their stay provided by the applicant are credible and correspond to their personal, family, social and economic background

Travel/ immigration history
You must consider the applicant’s travel history in their passport or travel document (and, for visa applications, that listed on the application form). A pattern of travel that shows the applicant has previously complied with UK immigration law may indicate the applicant is likely to be a genuine visitor, as might travel to other countries, especially the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Schengen countries or Switzerland.
If an applicant has previously failed to comply with another country’s immigration law, for example if they have been removed from another country, or if they have been refused entry to another country, this may suggest that an applicant is not likely to be a genuine visitor (depending on the circumstances).
Travel history should not be the only consideration in deciding whether you are satisfied an applicant is a genuine visitor. In particular there may have been a change in circumstances since previous travel. You should consider all relevant information for each application including any social and economic factors and any locally held information.
Where the applicant is a first-time traveller, you will need to rely on other evidence to satisfy you they are a genuine visitor.

To be Honest my application I will term it as so so simple application, at some point I felt I may not be given Visa cos I didn't include so many things I have now learnt never to ignore on this thread, cos I found this thread after I submitted and the long delay was happening and my travel date was approaching. If am to apply again I will definitely do it differently, thanks to everyone for all the knowledge shared here, I can now advise people better.

I only submitted Employment Letter, Employer introduction letter, payslips, recent salary review letter (cos they were going to see it in my salary account statement), salary account statement, savings account, my BOA account statement (I still maintain this as my dollar account), one family picture, proof of tenancy, marriage cert that was all.

No promotion letter, No cover letter and my savings account statement was a total mess with lots of cash inflow and outflow I didn't explain anywhere but I have had a good balance all along.

I won't be making the trip anymore cos what I needed it for has passed, however if anyone sees ticket to UK for nothing above 200k grin grin grin please holla me, make I enter plane go Primark grin grin
