A Nigerian student developer has officially rebranded his agricultural social marketplace from Flink to Flinck as the platform continues expanding its vision for Africa’s agricultural ecosystem. The platform, created by 16-year-old software engineer David Uchenna, is designed to help farmers, buyers, and agricultural communities connect digitally. Unlike traditional marketplaces, Flinck combines: social interaction agricultural communities produce discovery direct buyer-seller connection all in one platform. What exactly is Flinck? Flinck is an agricultural social marketplace built specifically for agriculture. Farmers can: connect with other farmers share farming updates and insights list produce for buyers to discover grow visibility for their products Buyers can: discover farm produce contact sellers directly explore agricultural communities and discussions The goal is to reduce fragmentation in agriculture and make it easier for people in the industry to connect and trade. Why the name changed from Flink to Flinck According to the developer, the rebrand was mainly done to create a stronger and more unique identity online. The previous name “Flink” had heavy competition in search results from existing international companies and technologies. “Flinck” gives the platform: a more unique identity better discoverability stronger branding opportunities while still maintaining the original vision and pronunciation. The app is already live Flinck is currently available and gradually growing its user base. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.k09dtechnologies.flink |

David Uchenna, has built a platform called Flink, designed to help farmers connect with buyers and sell their produce more easily. The idea is to solve a common problem in agriculture: Farmers produce food, but struggle to sell at the right price. Middlemen often control the market, and farmers end up earning less than they should. At the same time, buyers don’t always have a direct way to find reliable farmers. How Flink works: Flink is built as an agricultural social marketplace, combining multiple features into one platform: Farmers can create accounts and connect with others They can post updates and share farming insights Farm produce can be listed for buyers to discover Buyers can reach out directly to sellers It’s like combining social media + marketplace, but focused on agriculture. What makes it different: Unlike platforms like Jiji, which are general marketplaces, Flink is built specifically for agriculture. The goal is not just buying and selling, but also: helping farmers connect improving access to information creating more transparency in pricing Availability: The app is already live and available for use. 👉 https://getflink.pro

I’ve been thinking about this more… One major issue is farmers don’t even know the real market price of their goods before selling. That’s why middlemen always win. Do you think farmers in Nigeria would actually trust a platform like this? |
For years, many farmers in Nigeria have faced the same problem: They produce food… but struggle to sell at the right price. Middlemen often control pricing, and farmers end up earning less than they should. Farmers are also scattered across different platforms, with no central place to connect, share insights, or grow together. At the same time, buyers struggle to find reliable farmers directly. This is the problem a young Nigerian engineer is trying to solve. At just 16, David Uchenna is building Flink, an Agri Social Marketplace. Instead of just another farming app, Flink combines: - Social interaction (farmers sharing updates, experiences, and insights) - Marketplace (buying and selling farm produce directly) - AI tools (crop recommendations, farming assistant, and decision support) - Logistics support (helping connect farmers to delivery options) Think of it like social media + marketplace + smart farming tools, all in one platform built specifically for agriculture. Why this matters: - Farmers can sell directly to buyers - Buyers can find trusted sources easily - Less dependence on middlemen - More transparency in pricing - Access to AI trained for agricultural decisions - Easier movement of goods through logistics support Agriculture is one of Africa’s biggest industries, yet it’s still largely offline and disconnected. Platforms like this could change how farmers operate entirely, from how they learn, to how they sell. Flink is still in its early stage and opening access gradually.
