The extent Nigerian Government owned Universities shut down due to workers or lecturers' strike is no longer news anymore. The unfulfilled agreement between the government and university unions has made it something we expect annually. Leaving the student to pray for grace that school might continue each semester to enable them graduate at the appropriate time with their rivals, in polytechnics and private intuitions. The 2018 edition of the union's industrial action is already looming and students are expected to be ready for the upcoming nationwide strike. The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, has warned the Federal Government to implement the new minimum wage or face its wrath. The union at its 34th National Executive Council, NEC, meeting held at Delta State University reportedly accused the government of not being sincere with its negotiation team In a communique signed by the union's National President, Samson Ugwoke and National Public Relations Officer, Abdussobur Salaa said the new minimum wage is becoming protracted. source:https://campusconnectz..com/2018/09/could-this-be-another-nationwide-strike.html |

Nigerians always talk about dreams about those old days of missionary schools, and then redirect those days to currents day and expect church owned school to offer subsidized or even free education at least for the children of the members of the church that established the school. The average Nigerian thinks that it has always been the money of the church members, that the church builds a school, for this reason they all sees it right for their kids to enjoy free or subsidized education at the church-owned tertiary institutions? In case you feel the urge to ask this question again, here are some top 4 reasons of reasons why schools like: Salem University, Covenant University, Redeemer's University of Nigeria, Mountain Top University and others can't afford to be inexpensive. 1. Lecturers' salary Private Universities have a knack for hiring the best lecturers around and paying them much more than what the government pays their counterpart at federal or state universities. When you say private universities are better than public ones, you should consider the quality of lecturers in those schools. They are the reason why we believe private schools are better. read more: https://campusconnectz..com/2018/09/why-church-owned-universities-cant.html |

The Registrations for the 2019 JAMB UTME will begin by the end of October. This directly translates that 2019 JAMB Forms should be on sale before 31st October, 2018. According to Prof Oloyede, JAMB is currently amending the registration process for the forth coming exams, based on experiences from the previously conducted exam. From the record it was gathered that a good number of less qualified candidates applied for the exam last year, thereby causing unnecessary baggage for the board. Prof. Oloyede had earlier stated that the cost of the JAMB Registration Forms will be left for FG to ultimately decide. He then added that; “We are not interested in the money. We are interested in having adequate preparation for those who are genuine students". The actual dates for conducting the 2019 UTME is yet to be announced, but the Registrar has assured the public that it would not clash with the upcoming 2019 Elections period and time to ensure safety of every candidate. source :https://campusconnectz..com/2018/09/jamb-2019-registration-starts-october.html
