Dear CandyDiva,

I sympathize with you and your sister. Visa refusals can be very difficult to deal with. I will advise you NOT to make a bad situation even worse. 1 Visa refusal is better than 2 Visa refusals. A history of multiple Visa refusals may have a negative impact on her future immigration plans. So tread carefully and please, abort the mission of "Re-applying for her immediately."

From your post, your plan is to make her re-apply and not include her own Bank Statement. This is a very bad idea in my opinion. It will almost certainly attract another refusal.

Why?

Well because in the Refusal letter, the ECO made it clear that they are more interested in her "personal and financial circumstances in Nigeria", and not so much yours (or her other siblings). So you can see that failing to include your sister's Bank Statement is a bad choice to make in this regard.

To summarize, if you decide to make her re-apply immediately, it will be difficult to convince the ECO that her personal and financial circumstances has changed within just a few days/weeks.

My advice?

Let her swallow the disappointment like a strong DOCTOR-TO-BE that she is. You and the family can find alternative options to help her relax, chill and to compensate her for the stress of school exams (and this visa application). And if her final goal is to relocate to the UK after her studies, then she can start working towards it now. Doctors will continue to be in demand in the UK for a very long time.

This is my advice from my own good (and sometimes painful) personal experience.

Kindly send your sister my regards. Cheers.

Thank you for your warmth, we would abort mission now and await better days in future. I really do not want multiple refusals at this point. Thanks again for your comforting words. Cheers 🥂

She was denied because you guys tried to make her bank statement look like she has money.
After (a) she said she doesn't work and (b) she appears to have won a lottery of N500k in under 30 days which (c) is the money she wants to spend on a 5 weeks trip.
Her credibility is in question. If she manipulated her financial information, then she might as well manipulate other information.
Don't fund bank accounts for interviews, especially when its for countries that ask for bank statements before physical interviews.
You have to find out how you will address the integrity issue of her bank statement for them to move forward with her application when you reapply.

Thank you so much, I’m thinking of completely omitting that part in her next application. Can I present just mine?

The application should be fine. Attachment to Nigeria is her education as supported by a letter from her faculty on a letter headed paper. Just deal with the financial part, no pump the account, let the account show inflow and outflow of a typical student and if there is any significant deposit, put an explanation with evidence. And reduce the one month to say 2 weeks...

Yes!, this is exactly what I’m on about. I and my other siblings send her monthly allowances, so we would declare all of that. This is uplifting. Thank you

2 reasons she was refused.......

- Unemployed
- Account pump

What has changed..........

What's is the financial trail, of the ₦500,000 + in her account??...........

What is so important about this visit........

Within a few years, she would have the ability to legitimately migrate on her on back/qualifications...........

Thank you so much for your response,

We suspected the account pump, I had sent the money into her account over a month prior, thinking it would be okay to show some money in her account ( I guess I was wrong), after-all, she is a student and mustn’t declare any account statement and I also mentioned I’d bear her cost of traveling anyway.

What has changed is that, we won’t bother using any account statement from her, mine would suffice.

And I just want her to come and relax, chill and shop for all the stress exams has bestowed on her.

Once again, thanks for responding

Hello all, I’m in desperate need for advice. Kindly don’t ignore me if you have the proper information 🙏

I had invited my younger sister to visit me in the UK, and she just got denied. She’s 19 years of age and in her 3rd year in the university. She just finished her first MBBS exams and her Dean of faculty had equally written on a letter head introducing and acknowledging her studentship.

I want to re-apply for her immediately, and I will show below the letter of refusal.
However, documents submitted from both ends included;

From me (invitee/Sponsor);
1. 3 months bank statements
2. 3 months work payslips
3. Utility bill
4. Offer letter from work
5. Data page of passport
6. BRP ( Residence Permit)
7. Invitation letter stating she’s coming to see her newborn nephew and also visit some interesting sites

From my sister’s end;
1. Dean of faculty letter of introduction
2. 1 month zenith bank statement of account showing above 500k
3. Student ID card
4. Letter of admission
5. A picture of us together

Note 1: Application declared that she has two other siblings here in the UK, and all on work visas
Note 2: She is in a private Uni

Attached is the ECO’s reasons for refusal, kindly advice 🙏

In those days our Mothers carry what i know as Hand Purse, very small and light, I still remember what my mum had in her purse.
1. One small eye pencil

2. One red lip stick

3. One small container of talcum face powder

4. Handkerchief

5. One small mirror and

6... Well Folded 50kobo and One naira Notes (which i get to steal sometimes when she gets back from an outing)

But now, u see Girls carry a BAG that can contain a Full Grown Matured He-Goat and you wonder what is always inside...
I was so curious to find out one day, so when Angela came to my place some years ago, i opened The Almighty Bag and i was surprised that as Big as it looked with so many openings, there was absolutely nothing relevant(at least for me) What i saw included

1. One Big mirror(Almost same size with the one we hang in the bedroom)

2. 4 Different types of facial powder

3. Lipsticks of various colors,, (i counted 15)

4. One broom stick, about the size used to make Ewedu (I still dont understand why she carried this)

5.7 different colours of pants and One extra Bra

6. Toothbrush, tooth paste and bathing Sponge and sanitary iPads

7. Different types of make up( i just didn't recognise their names, they were too much and too colourful)

8. Passport photgraphs and also phone chargers, (Pin mouth charger for nokia, Iphone charger and BB charger )

9. I saw a Wallet inside the bag so i opened the wallet and hoping to see what normal wallet usually holds but.............

10... When i opened the Wallet, i found "NO Money" inside but scattered sticks of toothpick with one faintly used Chewing stick
I can't stop laughing lahor!
