Ten Lies People Tell on Their First Date
First dates

They’re mostly about looking good - but come on, facts sometimes get stretched. Nerves kick in, or you just wanna appear cooler, so tiny untruths pop up now and then. Check out ten lies folks often toss around when meeting someone new:

1. I'm flying solo at the moment. Though some might be chatting with a few folks here and there, most prefer to come off as free and paying attention.

2. I love checking out stuff I've never done before! Being up for anything seems cool, which pushes people to pretend they’re more into risks than they really are.

3. I don't usually drink much. To stay out of trouble, a person might say they have drinks less than they do.

4. I exercise regularly. Staying fit’s a big deal these days - so common that folks sometimes exaggerate how often they hit the gym.

5. My last relationship finished without issues. Nobody likes looking upset or intense, so chaotic splits usually get downplayed.

6. This place - restaurant or bar - is one I really like. Some folks act like they know cool hangouts, but it’s just for show.

7. I care a lot about what I do for work. Getting excited about your job might seem strong - even when it's not totally real.

8. I rarely sit down to watch television. Saying you don't get hooked on series might make you come off as sharper or more into doing things.

9. I'm cool with flying solo at the moment. Yet even though self-assurance pulls people in, underneath it most still crave a genuine connection that sticks around.

10. Some people tweak their age or height on dating apps. They might take a year away - or toss in an extra inch - just to seem like a better fit.
Though small fibs might seem okay - especially when nerves kick in on a first date - telling the truth works better over time if you actually want things to feel real. Instead of faking it, being upfront helps relationships grow without hidden baggage piling up later.
