I have driven a 2007 and 2018 Toyota corolla (CVT), I honestly think they're the same, no difference as far as the experience is concerned.
It felt super sluggish, it didn't even have the normal forward torque when leg was off acceleration pedal, it was still while in drive.
The screaming when accelerating is embarrassing, especially when you compare that to the increase in speed.
These are just cars to get one from A to B, not for those who enjoy a bit of speed or power, they're not designed for that, the CVT is also another factor, a friend who has one just changed his drive shaft last week and now the car will not shift through gears, they're still on it for about two days now.

That is the corolla for you!

Get the IS350 if budget is not an issue..

Yes, the IS 350 comes with both a direct injection and port injection V6 so it doesn’t suffer from carbon buildup like IS 250.
Bottom line don’t look at the shape of every Lexus Is and assume it is a 250. First verify before you thing about engaging it in a drag race. E get why

Yea i notice this about the car..I drive a Hilux 4plug turbo charged...I noticed when I ever i jam this lexus for highway, it doesnt come close unlike Lexus ES350.
But this particular lexus 250 looks more sporty and has a loud Exhaust.

Being sporty with loud exhaust is how it camouflage its weakness. 😁

Hilux is in another world of its own..

Lol. Love this analysis. I used IS 250 early 2022. Bought it from a car dealer at Ibafo side who confessed to me that he bought it cheaply from a broke yahoo boy. Car was superb from exterior but badly damaged from interior. I really loved it and still bought it despite glaring issues. The dealer was transparent and even encouraged me to wait for another, lol.

I disagree with your speed analysis OP. If there was anything I enjoyed during the short 6months I drove the car usually between Lagos and ibadan, it was the speed and it's sporty nature.

I never said the IS250 was “slow”. It’s a 2.5 direct injection V6. 😎. All I am saying is that, with the way it looks and handles, it should have been faster.
