To all successful visa applicants,

Despite the different processing times u've all had to endure, are the issue dates different from the submission dates? In other words, were the visas backdated? Raphok, pls share with us likewise others.

@ Justwise, thanks for the feedback. Meanwhile, as it has been 3 weeks since i applied as well as past the stated 14 working days turn around time stated for tier 4 applications at the VFS office Lekki, I sent an e-mail to the consulate asking for update. Hope that was not out of line because i'm sick and tired of reviewing evry sms i get especially with Etisalat being so annoying with their updates on whoever tried to reach someone without being successful.

Absolutely correct.

Hi Ell 777 and Justwise,

I've actually read through the first 5 and last 10 pages of this thread and its been quite interesting.

I applied for my visa via the Lekki office on Aug 15 and thought it'll be a walk in the park with my visa issued after 10days max but that has not been the case. I visited the UK in Sept 2007 and again Sept 2010 and in both visits didnt spend more than 1 week, so i'd say i have a rather good travel history but its day 12 now and i'm still waiting. Unlike Bountimore, Nana28 and a couple of other people, i dont think i have their strength of patience because i have actually resigned my appointment because of this MBA programme which begins on Sept 26.

I have a couple of questions

1. I included an acknowleged copy of my resignation letter which states it is as a result of this MBA, does that count for anything?

2. To obtain my CAS, my sponsor only required that i pay a deposit of £1000 as part of my tuition as well as pass the IELTS exam, which i did/have. However, in posts i've seen, people seem to have either paid all of their tuition or a reasonable amount and even though i have the balance of this as well as the maintenance in my account, i'm a little bothered. I have actually secured private private accommodation via my sponsor and have even paid both the deposit, room rent and agency fee upfront though i still provided fully for my maintenance, should i be bothered?

3. More worrisome for me is that as a Banker, i have spoken to my audit guys in the office who confirm statements of accounts from embassies, to alert me once a call for mine is sought however as at Friday (day 12), the embassy has not sought confirmation of my statement of account. Should i again fret?

4. Rather than use my staff/current account, i applied using my savings account so is this a likely challenge? More so, i actually need to draw from this account and the amount will definitely go below the maintenance requirement but i'm thinking that owing to the fact that i've already met the pre-described 28 day circle, then i can draw below the balance expected but still make sure it again gets to the expected figure in say 2 or 3 days. is this advisable?

Sorry to be asking so much bt i'm actually sick and tired of checking the internet and every sms i get on my phone. I've already suffered enough heart palpitations from my dear club Arsenal.

Please advise.

Thank u.

undecided Faakay, i'm not sure whether or not to take u seriously but time will tell. One thing though, u r clearly oblivious of the enviroment that businesses have to thrive in. U should open ur eyes.

Mighty Mouse/Fine cat/Sweet T tongue, what happened? Cat cut ur tongue? This is definitely not my last mail to you nor ur likes. Can u afford to buy newspapers? Just do that today and check out the Guardian. U can never and will never compare to me in any way.

Now get this, if i were to get a job with Inter that would mean to work Saturdays inclusive, i damn well will rather than doing any bloody menial job in any other country. For Sundays, not possible and i dont think any employer in this country includes Sundays in their contract. Not for numbskulls like u who work round the clock for wages.

Well the CBN has said it and that for me rests the case until someone else with more information than them, goes public with this info, i have no time for rumour mongrels.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

grin   grin  grin  grin

Its a good thing a number of sensible people are contributing sensibly to this topic.

Kill Joy-Sweet T(Ham head). You are a slowpoke and a half baked nitwit, u, worked with Exxon, Now thats a laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ur I.Q must be reading (1000) for u to believe tht a full grown man working as a shop assistant in a foreign country, still complaining abt it is better than someone here in 9ja with a decent job.

Nxt is ur acclaimed relatinship with Otunba Balogun, Bleeding liar, u will neva know the source direct, u will always know a person who overhead the person, that was a houseboy to the senior brother of the, blah blah blah, Talk about a direct sourced that u can quote. U r the fool. whts in the UK, nothing? I quite agree with u for once. I went there because i know lots of people take their vacation there and i was disappointed with what i saw aftr all the noise. Just so u know blabber-mouth-name-dropping ass hole, i stayed with the son of the former Minister of Justice who was my class mate in secondary school, u want his no so u can beg for contracts, Just Holla.

Then when will u get it into ur thick skull tht i do not work with Intercontinental? Ur stupidity really baffles me. I mean, u have claimed that u had closed ur account with Inter, and that they are owing u 200k, so can u please explain what a yahoo boy will do with the already closed account no of ur supposed rich self. Give it to the Inter staff on this forum and let him verify ur claims, Olodoooo rapata.

My apologies to evry other person on this forum. Me and the above have a thing and i'm not about to back down from the insultive brat. To the business of the day. I still believe Inter made a mistake from their earlier decision to increase their minimum balance and i have it on good authority that it has been reversed. However, to complain about charges for a service u obviously need is bizarre. If u dont want Internet Banking, dont apply for it. if you dont want sms alerts, dont apply for it. I also run a savings account with GTB and the day they told me i would be paying N200 monthly for the service i said no. In fact since then, i have neva made any lodgements. Same INTER, i told them i dont need their alerts, dont want their internet banking and i have not had issues. Our fight is this N50 transaction fee on ATM withdrawals which i think is on the high side but i'm a realist.

ATMs work with power, can anybody on this forum tell me how much he or she spends on fueling generators? Let me tell u mine. I spend an average of N5000 weekly to fuel my gensets. I live in Surulere, so tell me about urs, examine what pixiraver said abt banking in S.Africa. The internet u use at home, is it free? Come on people, lets wake up to the real world.

I actually have my life's savings in Inter but u know what, i'm not scared. Truth is, most banks are interwoven and borrow from each other. if Inter should have issues, then be rest assured that all these other banks have major issues because at one point or the other, they would have borrowed money from Inter and they would demand their funds back. Shares, Whose stock price has not dropped today? please get real.  I have neva liked that means of investment hence i neva invested in them so i consider myself lucky because just as i was being convinced, the crash started.

I have my clincher to actually confirm if Inter has issues and i have told my relative. The simple indice for me will be that once i see that his salary is not fully paid for the nxt three months, for any reason at all, then all will not be well. I am even waiting for their end of year results.

So evryone fear not, nothing dey happen.

Come wait first, who is this slowpoke Sweet T?

U dey crase, no apologies nokturnal.

Its corpse washers like u that mess the good image of this country. What stupid legitimate business do u do that u can not talk about freely on the forum? Can u afford to call Naija without loading one of those ur useless call cards? If u r man enough, give me ur business name and i will run a bckground check on u and post it on this forum within a week. Yeye oaf, u do menial jobs that u can not take in ur country and and stay there (if u r not in Mushin) and pass judgement on those who actually sweat it out here.

Can u afford to buy ur boyz beer in a joint? Stingy nitwit. A staff of Intercontinental has joined this forum and i dare u to give him ur account no to verify ur useless claims of being owed.

Drunk, ? U r on cheap drugs and i hope u O.D. I met a jackass such as u in my last trip to the U.K last summer. I had bought some gear from Burton and when i was about to pay, the dude asks Cash or Card? I told him Cash of course and he said "Oh, u must be Nigerian and launched into a tirade of Yoruba stating how difficult it is over here and blah blah blah, I simply told him, oh boy come home, life don beta for home. How am i not sure u were the person, okkkkkkkkkkkkkkk u said u shuttle U.S  and Eko? how recession dey hold u, We see poor desparate individuals such as ur sorry ass loosing jobs everyday, Even my mother in law who is a Citizen, works with the INS says it is not easy and considers returning home. So how much more a looser just like u who prob married a latino just to get papers.

Ha Ha, this is what happens when a jobless wanna be without info goes out to write thrash about serious minded people. He/she gets shot in d ,

Now u have suddenly dreamt about a conspiracy theory of having four identities as one. U are such a serious Olodo, U hav just given urself away that u r the one using multiple identities on this forum. My response was to fine cat abi wetin and err jaz ki abi what. u be their lawyer? Na so e pain u reach u come collect work on their behalf? OLODO, I'm sure u graduated with a third class which is why u can not make a simple analysis of a business decision. Its people like u tht make foreign nationals to question the integrity of the quality of our graduates.

Yes oooo, Intercontinental must not and will not go under,

Yes ooo, i am credit worthy to drive N10m car and that chick i hav been toasting that left your okada like legs for me must not return to u. Are u jealous that u are not credit worthy? I think u have just revealed to us wht precisely ur issue is with this bank. U envy their staff and how they dress and u are not credit worthy, shame on u. Go and struggle and God will answer ur prayers.

Olodo, let me tell u what i do, i am not like u hiding behind an identity. I sell Cars, u hear, I am a Marketing Executive with a leading automobile firm and have been with them since December 04. My banking relationship with Intercontinental started in February 2005 and i have neva had any issues with them. The pay is not much and of course i wouldnt mind to work with Inter but that doesnt mean that i should run someone's business down simply because i can not afford his service.

In the course of my duties, i have met many organisations who can not afford the price of some of our cars yet they dont run us under. They pay for what they can afford. We have six leading brands in this country and perhaps when u repent of ur evil ways, u will be able to afford one of our cars. The most affordable goes for just 990k and we have cars that cost as much as 19m.

So Olodo, who u be?
Business / Re: Intercontinental Bank Has Become Useless by carfreak: 10:15am On Mar 13, 2009
Hello All,

Abeg who are this people called jin ka wetin and ugly mouse abi na fine cat. You should be ashamed of urselves stating what u do not know.

Common sense should tell u that a distressed bank would not be looking for only customers who have above 10k. It follows that they must have too much customers and want to concentrate on just a few.

While i dont share their sentiment nor rationale for this new position, it is not a reason for u to use this forum to create panick amongst people. I have a close relative who works there and from him i have been getting enough info. Do u hav any idea what their salary scale is like? Well i can thank the likes of u for one thing though because as a result of rumour peddlers such as urselves, i now hav an idea of what my relative earns. abi! Because to prove his points, my relative had to show me his account statements. For God's sake this guy was just paid his QUARTERLY upfront and for just a second level officer, this pay is above 300k. (Bros abeg if u dey read, no vex o)Imagine this being paid every 3months to over 10,000 employees. Oh did i forget, his monthly salary is also above 100k, haba, Then since this rumour started, they have been paying all customers who have been swallowing rumours from people like you so how come they havent folded yet?

Lets talk facts, they are the 2nd fastest growing bank in the world, they have gotten more ratings than any other bank in the country, their staff are well paid and they actually have a service culture unlike some banks i know. Do u know better than all these agencies who have rated them as excellent or are u smarter than Soludo?

see, if not for my bros working there, i would also luv to look for work there because dem dey try. Haba, dey even give scholarships to some higher institutions self. Just like someone earlier commented, e be like say u don find job go there and them bounce u or u fail their test. Olodo.

abeg for those who love the truth, the fact is actually that they suffered some very serious system issues last tuesday but this was resolved on Friday. The text messages they sent on this their new policy for me was ill timed and i have not hesitated to yab my bros for it but thats their business plan and they reserve the right to do so even though me i dont support it.

In fact, it looks as if the feedback from this forum and others must have reached their CEO because they have rescinded on that plan and that for me is listening to ur customers. I dont have so much money but all i have is with them because i trust them.

After all, u were all there when the Zeniths of this world said their own opening balance for individual current account was 250k, why didnt u write ur rubbish? So everyone, fear not, bad belles are at work.

i rest my case.
