Shopping on ebay and amazon can be quite challenging. If you're not careful, your account could even be banned. The client had already credited us, so it wouldn't have been right to ask for additional money to cover the difference.
In a last-ditch effort, we tried using Geepay virtual card, but our account was suspended. We also attempted Eversend; however, we found out they charge a $3 one-off card fee, a 3.5% fee, and a $0.5 maintenance and transaction fee, with a conversion rate of N1830/$. With limited options, we had no choice but to utilize their service for the payment. We funded the account; however, the money was unexpectedly reverted, making us feel uneasy about the whole situation.
Finally, we decided to turn to Chipper, which we had used in the past years, only to discover that our virtual card had expired. Despite our reservations about Chipper's high exchange rate, it was imperative for us to pay for the custom item before the close of business today. Consequently, we reactivated our Chipper account and were charged an extra $6, with an exchange rate of N1,831. Without any alternative, we made our payment, which was promptly confirmed.

As an eBay and Amazon personal shopper and shipper from the USA and UK to Nigeria, the work we do behind closed doors to ensure successful order placement, shipping, and final delivery to our customers is far more complicated, taxing, and time-consuming than most people imagine. By 28th November 2025, the item showed as delivered to our U.S. facility, yet it was not processed for onward shipping. We immediately contacted the eBay seller to confirm whether the item had truly been shipped and delivered. The seller cooperated fully and provided proof of delivery, including the name of the representative who received the item.
With this information, we returned to our U.S. shipping partner, only to discover the real issue: the item carried a UN3091 label, and the shipper had deliberately refused to ship it due to the restrictions associated with that label.
Now, consider this situation carefully—this was a $3,000 item paid for by a customer who had never physically met any member of our team. The level of trust placed in Cargome Xpress Services speaks volumes about our integrity, competence, and proven track record.
To resolve the issue, we went back to the seller and explained that the item could not be shipped with the UN3091 label. We requested that a return label be created so the item could be picked up and sent to a new address where the label could be properly handled and removed, after which it would be forwarded to a compliant shipping partner. This process was successfully completed.
Throughout this entire journey—the delays, investigations, back-and-forth communications, and final resolution—we kept the customer fully informed. As agreed, the item is now on its way to Nigeria.
