In a recent interview with Punch, Tiwa Savage’s husband Teebillz, who almost took his own life at the peak of his marital troubles with the singer, says the way he acted now is different, like completely different from the past. Recall that on April 28, 2016, the talent manager levelled shocking allegations of infidelity and emasculation against his wife and then attempted to jump off a bridge in Lagos. Tiwa Savage denied the accusations in a revealing interview, and also laid bare her ordeal during the short period of their union. But they made peace again and Teebillz stayed away from social media until months later when his photo with the singer surfaced on social media. Now, Teebillz who maintains a low profile since the drama, has become a religious man and tells Punch about his journey since the messy saga. See the excerpts: On how far he has come “The way I handle things now is completely different from how I acted in the past. I do better now because I know better. If I had gone through the experience before now, it probably wouldn’t make sense to me until I go through some challenging situations. But I thank God that I have been able to overcome all those through the guidance of my coach. “I only recently understand what it means to have a purpose in life. I have saved many people from committing suicide even though I don’t come out to say it. I was suicidal myself but God preserved me so I could also save others. I just realised that He kept me to touch the lives of others. People surely have their opinion about me and the entire issue, but God sees my heart and knows how much of a new man I am. “I am like Job in the Bible, God made me pass through all these challenges to make me a better person. I am only human, just like everyone else, so I am not immune to committing mistakes. My experience can be likened to a battle between evil and good. I am happy God redeemed me and pushed me on the side of good. “I am not being religious, I am just grateful to Him for giving me a renewed mindset. This is one of the biggest things coaching has done to me.” On if his friends stood by his side through the messy period “God is the only friend I have.” Asked if he has truly made peace with Tiwa Savage “God is the only friend I have. He knows and has the best for me in His vineyard.” On what he dedicates his time to doing now “I am already helping a couple of colleagues in the industry that require the type of coaching I have been through. I am open to working with others needing some sort of motivation and inspiration. Celebrities are humans too, our lives are out there for people to see but that does not mean we cannot make mistakes. The most important thing, however, is for one to surmount the challenge and triumph. I am happy with my life now. source: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/05/the-way-i-handle-things-now-is_20.html?m=1 |
Show Promoter and estranged husband to singer Tiwa Savage, Tee Billz, in a new interview with Saturday Beats, opened up on his suicide attempt and how he has used the experience to better himself and others. Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TeeBillz, has revealed that he has saved many people from committing suicide in recent weeks. TeeBillz, who at the height of a marital crisis with Tiwa Savage in April 2016, tried to take his life by jumping into the lagoon around the Lekki area of Lagos, said that following that experience, God has been using him to rescue many people attempting to do a similar thing. United in a colourful wedding ceremony in November 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and blessed with a son – Jamil, the couple’s union began experiencing cracks not too long after following accusations of infidelity and insensitivity for the feelings of each other. By April 2016, the crisis became full-blown, leading finally to their separation. Speaking to Saturday Beats earlier in the week, TeeBillz, who had gone through rehabilitation, said that God deliberately made him experience those challenges for him to become a better man and live out his purpose in life. According to him, without being pushed to the limits by those personal and marital hurdles, he never would have become the man he is today. He said, “The way I handle things now is completely different from how I acted in the past. I do better now because I know better. If I had gone through the experience before now, it probably wouldn’t make sense to me until I go through some challenging situations. But I thank God that I have been able to overcome all those through the guidance of my coach. “I only recently understand what it means to have a purpose in life. There is a problem with Burna Boy ’s music and it’s starting to show. Many of you might not understand or see it, but the singer is losing his impact fast. Burna Boy is a pop artist, who has enjoyed success as a chart-topper who provides special music drawn from his peculiar fusion of Afrobeat and dancehall that everyone describes as ‘different’. Under the right guidance, the man has moved his career forward by making breath-taking records, which has seen his star rise, and increased his profile to the part where he is recognized in various markets. But with his exit from Aristokrat Records, Burna Boy lost his partnership with producer LeriQ, who has been the man with the sole ability to drag Burna Boy across his best beats, to create impactful records. See the result on his debut project – “L.I.F.E.” That lost partnership affected Burna Boy in more ways than he could imagine. Without the skill and chemistry with LeriQ , he began to experiment with more producers, who have failed to properly bring out the beast in him. The pop records dried up, and Burna Boy began to subsist on the work he has done. People listen to Burna Boy because he is Burna Boy. They don’t listen to him because he makes the best music. The best music of his career is behind him, that’s why his sophomore album, “On A Spaceship,” was a critical mess. His 2016 EP, “ Redemption ”, failed to bang either. Without anyone to rein in his genius- level talent, he is lost in his head and fast lifestyle, creating records that impress his deep mind and that of his colleagues and everyone present in the studio. None of it was created for his numerous fans, who want more than he is offering. In the life of an artist, influences and creativity are constantly changing and morphing into new forms. It is good for this to happen, as it boosts the overall artistry of the artist as they switch up to hit new levels of artistry. But for Burna Boy, it is negative so far on his personal records. New singles ‘Halleluyah’ and ‘Boshe Nlo’ are not pulling in the numbers. On Youtube, their official videos are not hitting past 250k views. In fact, the last time Burna Boy has crossed the 500k views, was a year ago with the single ‘ Rizzla’ , which is still sitting poorly with 800k. ‘ Duro ni be’ has 250k, ‘ Realest’ has 208k, ‘Pree me’ is poor with 75k. These are horrible numbers for an artist with the skill level and fan base of Burna Boy. Outside the country, his numbers on Spotify are abysmal too. Nothing to see here. What is keeping Burna Boy is the emotional impact he has had with his debut album, and the records before that. Burna Boy has connected deeply to fans, and no matter how much he fails to excite with recent releases, his shows are still packed for now. Burna Boy deserves more. And he could get more. The love from his fans is enduring. He possesses a brand that exacts a strong pull on followers. All he needs are records to feed the crowd. And let’s cut through the hype, he has been artistically poor in recent times. He has to understand this, take a long hard look at his business and creativity, and begin work on getting back to base. He is losing his grip on the industry and pop music. It’s slowly happening now. But it is bound to pick up steam, and cut him loose from us all. source: https://peternewsonline..nl/2017/05/burna-boy-isnt-it-time-we-get-worried.html?m=1 |
The best part about listening to Tekno is that you think you know what to expect. Listening to a Tekno song goes thus: introduce the beat which is preferably mid-tempo, with a Highlife melody and some mild synths to give it all a modern and pop feel. Tekno comes through, and works his way towards his catch- phrase in the chorus. But before the chorus, he has to wow you with inexplicable verse lines. And then the chorus drops, and it is simple. The subject of the song is very predictable; Nine times out of ten, Tekno is all about expressing love. Whether he is pushing to claim the heart of a girl, or consolidating on his passion with poetic songwriting and expressions, he is linking all of his artistry to a woman, who sometimes is a love interest, or just a lover. He is very consistent with this. The other one time when he isn’t singing about love, he is either just dancing his way through the beat, or throwing some conscious vibes to the public. But the bulk of what Tekno is about as a musician is love, and he expresses it in the most colorful ways. Sometimes he compares his lover to the provision of electricity in Nigeria. Sometimes she is unsolvable like some Mathematics problems, she is unchangeable like dollar, and she loves going ‘away’ with him. In fact, she is the greatest lover and woman that ever liveth. This has worked out nice. Tekno has moved from being just a talented promising act, to becoming one of the most prominent pop artist on the continent in two years. That formula has worked so well for him, thrown him on the biggest stages and given him the best deals. There are increased calls for the singer to have provide an album or any other body of work to fully capture this time of his career. But on evidence of what he has offered up so far, isn’t it right to say we just might have experienced the full spectrum of Tekno’s talents? Tekno found a formula that has worked magic for the culture. And he has flogged it to an inch of its life. From this point, it feels like you could sum up Tekno’s talents and project what his entire project will sound like. But we are hopeful. Tekno is one of those purely gifted acts who understand music, sound, and all it’s elements. He could apply himself to any genre and still kill it. He is a producer, who has had success working on some of the biggest records in the country. Such immense skill-set can produce a lot. Tekno can produce a lot more diversity in his music. And my bets are that he is just working this particular angle because of its pop reward. The album will definitely have more. Beware of false reports claiming an injunction has been issued against Burna Boy Burna Boy fans and the general public are hereby informed that Burna’s current US tour and all upcoming shows are going forward as scheduled and that any website or article containing information to the contrary is patently false and misleading. Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, Burna’s former promoter, has initiated a misinformation campaign designed to mislead the public about recent court proceedings in the New York federal and state courts. In a recent press release, Vibesland has dishonestly represented that it has received an injunction barring Burna from playing his upcoming shows. There is no such injunction or court order, and it is a matter of public record that all attempts made by Vibesland to prevent Burna from performing his upcoming Outside Tour shows has been unequivocally rejected by the courts. On May 5, 2017, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York swiftly denied Vibesland’s application for an emergency injunction and dismissed his Complaint for lack of subject matter jurisdiction, but not before the Chief United States District Judge, Dora L. Irizarry went out of her way to condemn the tactics of the vexatious promoter for trying to stop Burna on the eve of his performances. Vibesland, in an apparent second bite at the apple, sought to enjoin the next three concerts on Burna Boy’s U.S. Outside Tour, this time bringing its claims in the New York Supreme Court in Brooklyn where Vibesland failed, yet again, to disrupt Burna’s tour when Vibesland’s second application for a temporary restraining order was summarily denied. To date, Burna Boy has successfully defended against two frivolous Temporary Restraining Order applications filed by Vibesland Entertainment, LLC. Burna’s shows scheduled for D.C. on May 19th, Dallas on May 20th, and Chicago on May 21st are proceeding as scheduled. The orders of New York State Supreme Court Justice Donald S. Kurtz, dated May 17, 2017 and that of the Eastern District of New York Chief United States District Judge Dora L. Irizarry, dated May 5, 2017 are available on request. • Wike, Amaechi Bicker • NIA Yet To Officially Confirm Proprietorship Hot potato best describes the situation regarding ownership of the $43.4m unveiled last Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at the Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, with the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi taking up the gauntlet against Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike. Wike had alleged that the money belonged to Rivers State government, claiming it was part of the proceeds from the sale of a gas turbine by the immediate past administration of Amaechi in the state. He insisted that the money should be returned to the state government. But Amaechi, yesterday, dared Wike to go to court if he has any shred of evidence that the $43 million recovered from the luxury apartment in Lagos, belongs to Rivers State government. Also, associates of the Minister, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in the state, Chris Finebone and Director General of NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside, have urged the Federal Government to investigate the veracity of Wike’s claim and let the public know the truth of the matter. There have been unverified reports in the dailies and social media of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) claiming the money actually belonged to the agency and was kept at the apartment for covert operations. The NIA has however kept sealed lip on the matter, prompting reactions from critics of the government that the NIA was being used as cover up. Essentially, media reports claim sources within NIA said the money was approved by the last administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and that EFCC was duly briefed by the NIA that the house where the money was recovered was a safe apartment for its discreet operations. Attempt to speak to NIA’s Director Public Affairs; Ambassador Anka failed yesterday, as he did not pick calls. It was however gathered that an official statement by the agency would be issued on Tuesday, at the end of the Easter holiday. Amaechi, in a statement yesterday, denied that the $43m and the luxury apartment in Lagos, belong to him, asking Wike to substantiate his allegation. The Minister, who governed Rivers State between 2007 and 2015, said the claim that he stashed the $43m was not only malicious, frivolous, but purely diversionary. A statement issued by the minister’s media office and made available to The Guardian, reads: “For clarity and emphasis, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is not the owner of the $43m and the Ikoyi apartment in which the money was recovered from. Amaechi has no business, link or connection to the money or property. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi does not know who owns the money or Ikoyi apartment. “Wike’s malicious allegation of corruption against Amaechi in the sale of the Gas Turbines is not new. This false claim has been punctured repeatedly with facts and evidence of the transfer payments for the power plants into Rivers State government accounts by Sahara Energy. • Steals passwords financial data • Experts seek measures against Nigeria’s vulnerability Cyber criminals appear to have stepped up their games, as they have unleashed an invincible malware attacks on Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of banks. According to MailOnline, passwords and financial data have been stolen from more than 140 banks and other enterprises in 40 countries using the organisations’ own software within the last few months. Experts have therefore sought increased measures against Nigeria’s vulnerability, calling for concerted efforts between the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the financial institutions in the country to safeguard the operations of about 17, 398 ATMs in the country. The ATMs carried out about N4.9 trillion worth of transactions in 2016. The digital strikes targeted computers that operate ATMs, letting hackers ‘push money out of the banks from within the banks’. The malware hides itself in the computer’s memory to avoid detection, and researchers say they have no idea who is behind it. “It is not known who is behind the attacks, Kaspersky Labs, who discovered the exploit,” said. “The use of open source exploit code, common Windows utilities and unknown domains makes it almost impossible to determine the group responsible – or even whether it is a single group or several groups sharing the same tools,” it stated. The U.S., France, the U.K., Ecuador and Kenya are the top five nations affected by the hack, with the U.S. being the hardest hit with 21 incidents. Other countries include Brazil, Tunisia, Egypt, Russia, Turkey, Israel, Uganda, Spain, Saudi Arabia, China, Congo, Libya, Peru, Tanzania, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others. The hit enterprise includes the banks, government organisations and telecommunications companies. The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) said there are now close to three million cash machines installed worldwide. Accordingly, the code invisibly collects the passwords of system administrators so that the attackers could remotely control the victim’s systems. “The ultimate goal appears to have been access to financial processes,” said Kaspersky Lab expert, Kurt Baumgartner, adding, “What’s interesting here is that these attacks are ongoing globally against banks themselves. The banks have not been adequately prepared in many cases to deal with this.” Baumgartner went on to say that those conducting the attacks are “pushing money out of the banks from within the banks” by targeting computers that operate ATMs. Unlike most other attacks, it drops no malware files onto the hard drive, but hides them in the memory. This combined approach helps to avoid detection by white listing technologies, and leaves forensic investigators with almost no artefacts or malware samples to work with. Speaking to The Guardian, on the issue as it relates to Nigeria, the Chief Operating Officer, Manna Microfinance Bank, Tobe Nnadozie, the cyber attacks target mostly online platforms in Nigeria. He stressed that banks that also try to do short cut by running payments on plain platforms without the security layers are the first set of casualties this will hit. According to him, when the cyber fraudsters want to attack, they start with avenues they can easily penetrate. “Unfortunately for the industry, except we move on time, if they are able to hack into all these avenues, the danger is that there may be other bank cardholders that transact on these unsecured layers or the expired certificate layers and they will get their fingers burnt.” Nnadozie stressed the need for continuous education, saying that due to apathy to customer enlightenment, lack of cohesion among the financial institutions in Nigeria, players do their own education separately. “This will not work. It is the industry that will be affected by this cyber attack, so there is need for more cohesion in our messages. What currently operates now is that when bank A brings out an advert that says customers should watch out for this and that, bank B will not want to bring out the same in order not to be labelled as a copycat. This trend has even moved to the Micro Finance banks.” He urged the CBN to lead the cause by running continuous awareness programmes in different languages on this menace; as most people still not know that phishing (tricking people into disclosing their bank details) is on the increase. The truth about Nigeria is that apart from the ATM cards and ATM terminals, most other platforms are heavily prone to fraud because people are trying to beat the standard and in the course of doing such they create opportunities for fraudsters. Nnadozie stressed that as the fraudsters are changing their games, Nigeria too should up the ante to fight the menace, and called for effective legislation to curb the trend. “The jail term should be commensurate punishment for offenders caught, if not, more people will be attracted to the crime.” To the Director-General, Delta State Innovation Hub, Continue reading at: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/03/cybercriminals-launch-invincible.html?m=1 |
I present 5 reasons why your name may not be on the NYSC mobilization list yet. Read carefully. So you have been trying to check your name on NYSC mobilization list for you to begin your registration soon and your name has not been coming up. You have tried all day to verify your name and all you are getting is no record found. Do not panic or start looking for illegal ways to include your name. Make sure you read this to the end because at the and, you will see why your name may not be on the list. Corpers Forum presents 5 Reasons why Your name may not be on NYSC site yet. 1. Network This Is funny? Yeah it’s funny to me also. Network can be a reason why you are not seeing any record yet. Thousands and thousands of Graduates or let me say PCMs are trying to verify their names at the same time. Imagine when about 10,000 graduates click on submit at the same time. That is what I call “Yam peppe scatter scatter” I would advise you just relax for some time and check again. If you are sure your network is good or you even did if at midnight alone. Then move to the next point. 2. Your School is Yet To Upload the Senate list Why do we call it the Senate list? I know, but I won’t tell you because that’s not our problem here. My problem at this moment is to tell you 5 reasons why your name is not showing up on NYSC portal yet. Some institutions are yet to upload their Senate list. Let me tell you what you already know. Your higher institution have a list tagged “Senate list” which contains the names of all qualified and cleared graduates eligible to be Mobilized for NYSC. The Senate list is then what would be given to NYSC as the official list from your higher institution. NYSC would then upload the list in the back end of their Database which will show up whenever a candidate whose name is included attempt to verify his or her name. If your institution is yet to upload and submit their official approved list to NYSC, then when you or anyone who is a student from that institution try to verify his or her name, on NYSC database, the system will say, “NO Record Found” Read full post at: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/04/5-reasons-why-your-name-may-not-be-on.html?m=1 |
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is gearing up for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which is scheduled to hold in May. The registration process this year has been one of the most stressful for candidates who have not stopped complaining. It took some candidates more than three days to do their registration while some others are still finding it hard to register. Some Nigerians are worried about the preparedness of JAMB for this year’s UTME and this is why. 1. Poor network for registration One of the complaints candidates have had about the new registration process introduced by JAMB is slow speed of internet services at CBT centers. Some have been stranded at registration centres as they were unable to generate their Personal Identification Number (PIN) due to poor network. 2. The mock examination failed to hold The board had fixed April 8 for its inaugural mock exam but it was postponed last minute despite assurances that nothing would go wrong. Candidates arrived at their centres on the day of the test but it was postponed until further notice due to some “unforeseen circumstances. Could this be a sign of things to come? 3. Not enough equipment for computer based test Some Nigerians are of the opinion that Nigeria has not developed enough in Information Communication Technology (ICT) to make CBT mandatory. One of the candidates said: “Nigeria has not gotten enough equipment to make CBT mandatory. We have not gotten there yet. A lot needs to be put in place. If in the urban areas we are still complaining of no network, what then becomes of the villages?” Read full post at: https://peternewsonline..co.ke/2017/04/see-4-brutally-honest-signs-jamb-is-not.html?m=1 |
