lawani: Lagos and Abuja or PH maybe expensive because of rent and if you really have high income you would be able to afford to go off grid so electricity costs would not be significant. We are not talking of a luxury lifestyle here but comfortable living. Flying in Nigeria today is a luxury and it is even more expensive here than in high income countries. The most senior civil servants are not paid ten million naira per annum after decades of service and you are saying thirty million naira is not enough for you in an average Nigerian city? Can a senior civil servant in any state be described as poor? They are talking about income earners you are mentioning civil servants? Like are you serious ? Most Civil servants are glorified paupers nowadays, unless the ones part of office rackets or contract inflation, diversion of gov funds etc. Directors in ministries payroll earn about 1.2mil/m after over 25 years of service and lots of politicking. How do they pay their children's fees home and abroad, build houses support nuclear and extended families on 1.2 million Mind you the deputy cadre is about half of that amount. Civil service is a cesspool of corruption that no government can clean up. You can't use them as a yardstick. Back to the topic, 15 million is an okay income nowadays, it only gives you enough freedom to deploy your mind into earning better income. But you can't afford to be comfortable on 15 million, you will be shocked in no time. |

Cashio: Bro, I have two ACs in two rooms plus a standing AC in my parlor plus a fridge and a freezer. Before 2024, these appliances used to run almost 24/7 and it costs me around 3k every five days. Baba, as at today, If I run those appliances like I used to, it costs me 5k daily. Right now, my parlor AC got spoilt and I was even happy it did so I'll save cost from there. The second AC I have disconnected that one since. My bedroom AC, na off and on I dey do am now. Money wey I dey use sub light alone is more than my annual rent. Since this year, na only once I don sub DStv. Next will be during world cup. 17k to fill 12.5kg gas. Before 2024, I used to cook soup and stew with 15k-20k weekly. Right now, na 50k weekly and we still have to squeeze the portioning and the volume of water to ensure it lasts one full week.
Like, bro, I am practically living like a pauper right now. Person wey dey go eatery tow or three times weekly before go chop varieties even as food dey house. Now like this, I dey even dodge to komot with my wife make she nor go see wetin she wan buy.
My head dey pain me bro. Tinubu economic policies make u feel you are lagging behind but the truth is most people are suffering worse than you. Rather than face the government they face God and keep praying for a better day while working twice as hard. It's the situation most Nigerians are in right now and others keep adapting like a frog in hot water. |

tonesky: Wi*e has told Nigerians he will replicate the rigging of 2023 in Rivers State in Abuja. He used local touts, securiy agencies, and vote suppression in areas of oppositions stronghold. He specifically used aspirants to state house of assembly to rig at the ward levels. Abuja people should take note. General elections are not so easy to rig. The Governor needs alot to be in in his favour asides money to achieve the rigging. Even inec people know when a particular constituency or state is impossible to rig, hence they rather save their neck than allow the money destroy them. Not much rigging can happen in Abuja and Lagos except vote buying. can't say same for other states |

Tinubu now needs to rely on the unreliable over pampered politicians in Lagos to deliver Lagos massively to counter this Makinde move.
Tinubu getting anything close to 50 percent in Lagos will be sheer luck or rigging.
I see Tinubu losing this election.North is heavily fragmented now southwest is getting splitted.
South south will be shared also, no block vote from anywhere aside South East that will queue massively behind Obi and North east that Atiku always wins. |
Politics › Re: Seyi Makinde to unveil PDP-APM alliance, declare Presidential ambition May 14 by carzeem1: 5:32am On May 13 |
CoolAmbience: Tinubu can't leave Atiku out!
What will be the basis for that?
He should not even imagine it.
That would amount to disenfranchising the entire North.
Nigerians are entitled to democratic options. It was the same North that fought for him when he was going to be disenfrachised by a section.
If Nigerians do not want him, then he has to go!
Nobody owns Nigeria. We should stop encouraging such power drunk tendencies before Nigeria collapses.
This isn't about whether Yorubas are strategic or not. Did Tinubu do well? How many people ever get the opportunity to be Councilors in their lifetime, let alone president.
He should not have doled out the huge cutback earned from subsidy removal to State Governors. Most of them are very irresponsible people. He should have deployed the funds directly to completely overhaul critical sectors such as security, power, agriculture and transportation. This would have created millions of sustainable jobs for Nigerians.
He spent his entire 4 years politicking with these governors who know next to nothing about governance. He is a bold president by removing subsidy, however he could not translate that bold leadership into transformative impact for Nigerians. I really thought that he would. Same funds the Governors are cutting out a percentage to fund his re-election. They all went on road construction spree, buying vehicles for political acolytes and other shenanigans. some are even building airports in non viable states. Human capital index extremely low, hunger everywhere from inflation, insecurity extremely high and the press which is the fifth realm suffocated and extremely compromised to only spread the narrative of the ruling party. The people are waiting, not every state vote buying and result tampering will work.lets see the Nyesom Wike magic all the Governors want to perform. |

Everyone knows that without rigging, Tinubu can only win 7 states in Nigeria: Ogun State, Oyo State, Osun State, Ekiti State, Ondo State, Kwara State, and Kogi State. No more. No less. Tinubu win in Lagos? How is that possible? Is like saying Tinubu will win in Abuja. Inec sef go fear rig Lagos blatantly. He can't win in Oyo also unless Makinde plays ball to protect himself from Efcc harassment peradventure Tinubu retains the presidency. Ekiti, Ondo and Osun ( win or lose, Adeleke is a tight corner now and will take a deal to remain as governor) is more like his forte in southwest. |

Eriokanmi: The last time I checked, Wike is a pdp man, called to serve in an apc-led government in appreciation of his efforts in scuttling the 2023 presidential election in rivers and Nigeria by extension, in favour of Mr tinubu. Since the apc, which is not even his party had already cleared fubara, wike's downfall has begun. He cannot meddle with the apc affairs as a card-carrying member of the pdp at that level.
There are several reasons this apc government is not getting it right. You can never bribe your way into power and think God will back you up. You go apply your wisdom taya and even exhaust it, without any solution. That's what is happening in Nigeria today to the apc. Even Jonathan the clueless had a better government and successful term. Nobody is talking now that crude prices had favoured the apc for years, yet with nothing to show Great insight. The administration's performance is terrible. |

Most Nigerians only vote in the Presidential election.
Tinubu lost Lagos at the Presidential election while Sanwo Olu won the same Lagos comfortably
Peter Obi had zero LG chairman in Abuja in 2023 yet he won Abuja by a wide margin that none of his opponents secured up to 25%
I have asked you before, who are you supporting, why are you afraid to mention your candidate? Sanwo won Lagos comfortably Which Lagos? Same one Oro was summoned? Same one non indigenes were barred from polling units? Same one sanwo olu was was attending Sunday service in harvester church to appease the youth? I wanted ask, is it okay to inform the landlord a month before rent expires that I am not renewing or is a month too short?
Rent expires July ending, so it okay to inform in May or June?
Thank you. If the apartment ticks all your boxes, discuss with the landlord on getting a discount on the new increment considering you have never owed him rent your good behaviour and use of his property. If he is adamant on the new rent, then check around and get quotes for similar houses in that neighborhood, then make your decision to leave or step down to a mini flat. |
