Corona virus has never really been a virus problem. Its always been the host problem. The vast majority of those who harbour the virus have adequate defense mechanisms to handle the disease. That's the reason why majority of Naija people thoughts of the virus as being a scam. The priority of focus from the onset should've been on supporting host defense systems(immunity), most especially in the vulnerable groups. Lockdown is not the cure for covid-19 but rather a control and submission. Lockdowns cost lives than the actual virus as deaths from despair arising from job loss, decline businesses etc are on the rise in Nigeria and around the world. Those deaths should also be of important just like the corona virus crisis. For example, malaria has one of the highest death rates in Nigeria and in Africa as a whole. It has always killed everyday but just not reported. There's a high death rate as a result of hospitals policies to basically suspend all other medical screenings and treatments for some months now due to Covid. One subsector that's highly inflicted by the negative effects of covid-19 is the private school. Most unemployed graduates are employed by this subsector but unfortunately most won't be able to pay their workers. We have to get back on track with regular healthcare not for covid alone but all other health conditions. Also government should device a means of providing help to those private sectors workers/business owners in forms of palliatives. |
As a human being, you will be tested in so many ways, in ways you will never ever be able to imagine. You will go through trials and hardships, it will be the hardest thing you will ever face, you will feel weak, you will want to give up. You will feel betrayed and hurt, you will sometimes see no way out to the extent of questioning your existence on earth. Patience is one of the most important things you will learn to have, even for those who don't have it. It will grow within you and you will have to let it grow to its full potential, you will come to learn that patience is something you will have to attain, without it you will fall into pieces. Every trial you go through will sometimes get harder than the last one, but one thing for sure is every hardship will be worth it, being patient is one of the best things you will ever learn to keep close to your heart. You will guard yourself, even on the days you will feel like you have nothing, you have everything. Having patience is more than enough to get through this life. Patience is indeed a virtue and the reward are endless. May Allah bless us with Sabr.. |
Fire service in Nigeria is just a place of relaxation. |

If it's not civilization, the likes of Oba of Lagos are meant to still be paying "Ishakole" to Ooni of Ife. Sadly, Our tradition is dying! |
Nigeria is a country where being poor deprives you of so many privileges. A country where being rich comes with a lot of privileges. A country where anything that adds value to the lives of the innocent and poor masses is always considered to be counterproductive and those for the elites is given topmost priority. The timely completion of the Abuja Airport runway is a good example that shows how the elites always come first before the poor masses. It shows us that with the necessary will, many things are achievable in Nigeria. So many roads in Nigeria are death traps for years, our hospitals not adequately equipped and our educational system is at the meltdown. What if they had dedicated this sheer energy and resources to education, power, good roads and on health. Many things are in desperate need of repairs, but they don't care. Because airport is not for the masses, they've repaired it on time. Many people have died of road accidents. But because the elites don't always use the roads, they are not attended to. It's a pity. Such is our painful story. |
haffaze777:Chelsea did worse than this last season and they came back stronger, Man Utd are currently doing it. The tough times don't last. |

Nigeria and Arsenal, why are they synonymous? Nigeria as a country has enjoyed some good years before 1966 even though everything seems to have gone to shit right now. But because we have hope that things will get better we keep believing. Without hope and belief, we could have start looking for applying for citizenship everywhere else. Arsenal situation is just like what Nigerians ( a larger part if not all) are going through. Arsenal is a team I have been following fanatically since 2003 and I've enjoyed a very good moments supporting them though not quite long. In the past 10 years, arsenal have been very poor and also have failed to mount any serious challenge for all major trophies they have participated in. This season in particular has been woeful. As of the time of writing this, the club just got humiliated by crystal palace, also in this dreadful run, they conceded 10 goals on aggregate to Bayern Munich. Not the best of time to be a gunners I must confess but it's the club I support and which I will keep on supporting no matter what. Every time Arsenal get humiliated or get beaten, friends and fans of other clubs always mocks and asks why I keep supporting the club. And on every occasion I give them the story of how we've been good in the past by making reference to past glories. You don't back out of a relationship just because things are bad at the moment but that you have to believe it will get better. Just as in the Nigerian situation, truth is anywhere else we might adopt as home would never really feel like home (just as I can't follow another club). And if you are like that you have left is to HOPE that it will get better. #forevergunners #proudlynaija #Hope #betterdaysahead |
