Some students reported that on 2nd of June 2017, the Provost of College of Health Ijero Ekiti Pastor Bayo Ojo snatched the pump action gun from a security in the College and started chasing students around while shooting in the air sporadically. It was also reported that same day in the middle of the night he was going from one house to the other breaking into students houses in other to arrest them.

It was learnt that trouble started when the provost ordered the police to arrest the NANS JCC chairman of Ekiti axis com. Olubumi Opeyemi aka Olumighty. The students’ leader was arrested and taken to Ado Ekiti on the account that he was planning a protest against 10k late registration fee while majority of the students were yet to pay their school fees. It was when the students went to demand for the release of their leader from the provost that he snatched the pump action gun from the CSO and started shooting.

On Monday 6th the students protested round Ijero Ekiti township calling for the immediate sack of the Provost in person of Pastor Bayo Ojo and also calling on EFCC to probe the finances of the College .it was allege that the College finances has been mismanaged a in messy way . They also called upon RCCG authority to investigate him and remove him as a pastor.

It was gathered that the College is the highest paying College of Health Sciences in Nigeria and still one of the worst in terms of infrastructure, quality education, discipline and non-accreditation of 80% of the courses in the College.

It was learnt that the illegal fees collected by the lectures without any check is alarming. In fact, they alleged that lecturers do collet money before conducting test and no handout no test rule exist .A 50 page handouts are sold for between 1000 to 1500 naira .Equally, it was learnt that the College has a lot of notorious lecturers who are in the habit of altering marks of students at will who are all backed up by the provost.
The students have been calling on the State government to remove the Provost despite the fact he has overstayed his service year for the past 4 years and also age is not on his side as well.

People doubt it because the closeness between him and Governor Fayose is beyond human reasoning, as people are insinuating that the Provost could be using diabolical means in his dealings with the governor because he is known for such and the governor also yield to all his devilish bids.

though i am not a Yoruba lady but i need to commend the obas of yoruba for their stand on people that knows noting about history distorting it

good one these people need serious iron hand. the next place should be college of health ijero ekiti, that man has destroyed that College.he is now fayose PRO.

This will still likely happen to our Provost at college of health ijero ekiti. His own case would be worse. He was supposed to have retired 3 years ago according to his mate that took up the job of civil service in ekiti. He has been romancing govnor fayose so that his sins could be forgotten. If he escape this government, he can't escape next government because pdp can't rule ekiti again with his likes. All the host community has rejected him.

Fayose is loved by the people but I can bet it with anybody that fayose may lose Ijero local government as a result of him making bayo Ojo the Provost of college of health ijeroekiti. Nobody likes that man. Gov fayose should kn this earlier before it's too late. He arrested some of us some weeks back. Who does that to a host community. The governor should let this man go rest at home after all he was supposed to have retired long time ago.

nice one ..osoko should come to our aid at college of health ijero and remove the tyrant provost pastor Dr. bayo ojo. he would ruin the chances of pdp next year . remove him and u will see wide jubilation

college of health sciences and technology, ijero Ekiti Provost in person of pastor Dr. Bayo Ojo single handily monitors all the students of the institution on Facebook. so many students had faced different panels and many result withheld , some were asked to return their results as a result of the offence the provost gave as misuse of the social media.. he is a PDP and fayose PRO .u can check his Facebook page to confirm this (bayo ojo). any post of students that doesn't support his political ideology becomes an offense . he has turned the institution to something else . it was the same institution that someone posted about on this platform on how he has been supporting criminal students and how those students ganged rape a female students last month.
the institution is the highest paying college of health in Nigeria (190k-200K) still students are suffering on daily bases. no electricity in the college for the past one year, no drug at the clinic ,some classes are without chair and tables. victimization of students on daily bases .
i decided to open this thread so that the students can come here to have a say since he cant trace us by our user name.

COHEST students pls what is the way forward ?
this man we learnt was supposed to have retired from the service for the past 3years but he is seriously romancing the governor for second term . oshoko must understand that this man is delaying the progress of the college and it may likely affects the voting pattern of the students, staff and ijero community where the College is situated. feel free to contribute pls. a thread for COHEST STUDENTS IJERO EKITI
