Good afternoon 'Nairalanders'. I decided to open this thread since I believe i can get answers here. I have always wanted to go into business since I graduated from the University.
My plans has always been facing setback because of finance and good ideas. I decided to take a job of 45k (monthly) after my NYSC this year in order to have some savings... I took the offer irrespective of the stress and other negative factors... I have set target of saving 100k b4 December(almost actualizing it) n resign for my business intention next year January. Am still a young guy with less responsibilities.
Pls good people of Nairaland, I need a good business Idea(the nitty gritty in it) I can expand with time with constant income. I never wanted to work for long for any company ( except Gov. Job) as I believe in establishing myself through business...Once again all Ideas are welcome n will be highly appreciated. Thanks all as I await your kind contributions.

I agree with you that you need to factor in shipping before calculating profit. But even at that, you will still be making serious money.

I'm guessing you tried using companies like DHL, UPS, EMS and co. My advice: Don't try it. DHL for example, charge $70 per kg. And the product in question may cost less than $5.

There are other reputable logistics companies that will charge you far less.

Example, NBC logistics. They charge you $7.5 per kg + N500 for express deliver (that is, if you want to get your product it within 24 - 48 hours).

If you want their normal delivery, its $4.5 per kg + N500. Within 4 - 7 days, you shipment will get to you.

The bag I used in the example above is not even up to 1kg.

So do the math. There is still serious money to be made.

I realized others’ business ideas won’t ever work for us, a business idea has to be self, else, there won’t be passion to drive it. They can give us ideas, ideas that even them might never attempt, and yet, they can’t give us the passion required to drive it.

But I can give you this tiny one though, look for where to buy ladies undies, and some body sprays, or fairly shirts and pants for guys, and you can resell. All you’d be needing with the 10k is marketing strat.



It’s not expensive to start. Don’t despise the days of little beginnings.
