Odion Ighalo may not be a darling for Nigerian fans after his fatal misses at the 2018 World Cup, but the burly striker continues to rule in the Chinese league where he’s now become the all-time leading for Changchun Yatai.

The 29-year-old achieved the feat after his goal in a Chinese Super League tie against Chongqing.

He now has 23 goals to overtake the previous record of 22 goals set by Marcelo Moreno.

The former Granada and Watford striker had equalled Moreno’s record in April when he scored twice to down then leaders Shanghai SIPG. He was crowned Player of the Month in April in China after the feat.
His record breaking goal came 19 minutes into the clash when he superbly volleyed a half clearance with his left foot to draw his side level, but his celebration was almost cut short as the referee had to consult the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to be sure he was not offside.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has revealed its plans to begin a campaign against drunk driving.

According to Daily Trust, the Corps Marshall, Boboye Oyeyemi, revealed this during a meeting with the Beer Sectoral Group (BSG) to discuss the implementation process of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU, the Corps’ Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, said, will help with the provision of breathalyzers for the pilot scheme to be run by the Kaduna Command, Lagos Command, and River Command of the corps
He added that a full campaign against drunk driving will be carried out, saying:

Other aspects of the programme of action are: commencement of Drive Alcohol Free (DAF) campaign, FRSC/BSG to meet with FRSC stakeholders in the DAF campaign, FRSC/BSG to conduct survey on the Six Geopolitical zones on DAF campaign, Enlightenment of drivers and other road users on the dangers of drunk driving, deployment of Billboards on strategic routes across the country with “don’t drink and drive” messages.

Former Crossriver state governor Donald Duke has lamented the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians in some parts of the country.
Mr Duke, who had declared his intention to contest the 2019 presidential election has said while reacting to the recent Zamfara state killing that claimed over 30 lives.

According to Mr Duke, it is a shame that government at all levels have failed woefully in securing lives.

The presidential aspirant paid this via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, adding that these aren’t just numbers but people.

The Lady identified as Edith Okereke could not understand how these fraudsters sleep after they spend someone else’s hard earned money illegally.
