A guy met me at Obanikoro bus stop and claimed he was going to Sango Ota, but was outta cash. He didn't know I was going to Iyana Ipaja which is on the way to Sango. Then I said it's okay, I'm headed that way. I knew we'll get Molue from there to Iyana Ipaja at N50 each and from there, it'll be easy going to Sango. So I promised to pay for him down to Iyana Ipaja and also pay his fare from there to Sango. He said OK (probably thought I was bluffing). When the molue arrived, I called guy man to hop in. Then he said nope. He'll like to go through Oshodi and would therefore prefer cash. I tried to explain that my route was best, most cost effective and shorter. My guy insisted, so I hopped in and we left without him. Imagine that! Another day, a young woman approached me with similar claims, I told her I had a car and would take her as far as I can since I was going that way. I was actually going about half her trip. She probably thought I was bluffing and followed me to my car. After driving about 1km, she asked to abort. Why? I asked but she simply didn't want to proceed. So I stopped and she got out. This has happened twice. |
bioye:The source you quoted indicates that Nigeria had 8,812 wards and 120,001 polling units AS AT April 14, 2007. But kudos for being the only one who attempted the question. This is 2018 and according to INEC, there are 8,809 wards and 119,973 polling units for the 2019 elections. https://www.google.com/amp/s/guardian.ng/news/inec-readies-119973-polling-units-for-2019-elections/amp |
For those who did not make it this time, cheer up. Our time will come. For many, the reason we were not shortlisted is the Federal Character principle and as long as that principle remains in our laws, there would always be reasons for people to feel undercut or shortchanged. I'm just encouraging us all not to beef anyone but instead to use any opportunity we get to make the government scrap the FC principle. Imagine that you scored 96% but because you're from a certain part of the country which already has a certain number of workers in the organization, you're rejected and the job is given to someone who scored 60% or even less from another part of the country. But we do the same tests, are scored with the same marking scheme, pay the same tax and utility rates, are expected to develop ourselves BY OURSELVES, etc. That's what the FCP does and that's why Nigeria has not progressed better than it has. That's why no one was taken from Kogi, 5 were taken from Imo, 10 from some other states. Remember catchment areas in university admissions? Anyway, congrats to those who are from the right parts of the country and those lucky few from the "wrong" parts. We are supposed to be one Nigeria with equal rights and opportunities. |

ukeme200:@Ukeme200: I've removed the post. Kindly remove the quote too so it won't mislead our fellas here. So sorry peeps, I've been trying to post this. I later found it was an issue with my browser. I used another system and saw the page still there but I couldn't post this earlier. Sincere apologies. Sorry for the false hopes I raised but nevertheless, let's keep faith. |

Cheer up guys, I can authoritatively tell you that the FAAN recruitment is still IN PROGRESS. I won't say much more so I don't unwittingly implicate someone. If I lie to you guys, I'd also be fooling myself because I applied for a position too and have checked this thread on a daily basis. Disregard the naysayers as there's no atom of truth in their posts. I don't know when we will be contacted, nor whose names would be on the list. I don't even know whether I'd make it (but I trust God to help me make it). But DO NOT LOSE HOPE. Trust me. You may have noticed I don't post always even though I'm always here. Congrats in advance. |
It is quite unfortunate my bro that the FRSC Enugu would do that (if your claims are true) but I can assure you that I have had many challenges in the course of following through with this recruitment exercise and FAAN was EXTREMELY helpful in resolving every issue from application when they abandoned the online form filling that took ages and reduced it from nearly 6 pages to just one, to taking the online aptitude tests and eventually the interview (I had mine at Customs College, Ikeja). From their website, the numbers published for text messages, their facebook page, etc., they showed a deliberate and a sincere commitment to organizing a transparent recruitment process. I DO NOT know anyone at FAAN or anywhere else (other than God) but I did the test and even though I got very high scores, I did not get any invitation for the interview (no text, no email - I blame this on network failure) but my name was on the list of shortlisted candidates on their website and when I went for the interview, it was hitch-free and easy and very unusually friendly. They made us feel very relaxed. I had challenges with documentation (at the screening) and again they showed remarkable patience and desire to assist. Now, on their site, there is a fraud alert once again showing their desire to be transparent and sincere. Now we await the results of the interview and I am in high spirits but even if some how I am not taken, I would still be proud of them for their conducts. I hope to be taken though and I believe I will as God lives. So my brother and others who have blamed it on Nigeria, FAAN or the government, I think we should blame that on some members of Enugu FRSC. Finally, I am positive that if you report that to FAAN and they investigate and find to be true, they would certainly do something about that. God bless Nigeria. |
If you did the test and scored 50 and above, I'd suggest you check faanrecruitment.com if you've not got an invitation. There's a list of successful candidates there. But if you cannot check the site for some reason and you know you scored 50 or higher, then you may want to gate crash. I didn't get an invite but my name is on the list. |

If your date is SAT/27 FEB. or FRI/26th, then take the WEEKDAY as the correct one as the test was billed to end the Sat/28th. Friday is 27 and Saturday is 28th and 26th is already past. I did mine this morning "FRI/26th". Goodluck all |
Nigerians are happy, tough, strong and fun, etc... so, maybe "dead nutrients" are good after all... |
I know this thread is old... but I couldn't help but notice that ONLY ONE respondent answered the (very simple and straight forward) question. Nigerians! By the way, I rarely take coffee but when I do, it's Nescafe (don't wanna be like most of the respondents, so..., my answer) |
I just found out that Glo allows you to transfer airtime ONLY 5 times per SIM per day. |
@Damix007, NO! you don't have to wait that long, I waited only about a minute or two. |
I followed Kasimusa's instruction and have the following to add: Maximum amount to transfer is N1000. So if you intend to transfer N12,500 like me, you have to do it a minimum of 13 times. Finally, the receiving number MUST be typed WITHOUT the preceeding ZERO (0). That 805, , 807, , 705, , 707, are correct but 0805, 0707, etc are WRONG. Thanks everyone. |
The following link lists more ethnic groups in Nigeria. But I think the list is incomplete since I know a few not listed there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Ethnic_groups_in_Nigeria I would make a list and post back here. |
I am a new member please 4giv me if this is the wrong forum/thread to ask this: What is the latest about Rev. Kings? I hear rumours that he's been released and I want to be sure. Thanks |
