Vinnie2000:Get your facts right and stop these beer parlour analysis. Okowa joined APC to avert arrest and probe from EFCC,he has no voice and nobody will listen to him, he's already a spent force. Sheriff Oborevwori joined APC in order to secure his second term. The rest decampees are insignificant as most of them followed their leaders as is characteristics in Nigeria politics. Okowa is a serial betrayer, one who betrayed the entire south south region |
The state governor is the de facto leader of the party in the state. There's is no cause for alarm because elective positions will be shared to compensate some party members. Omo agege which is the major contending force will likely be going back to the Senate and he might be rewarded with the Senate president. Festus keyamo although not a formidable force in the party will also be given a ticket to the house of representatives. Ogboru, Ibori,Okowa, James manager will be kingmakers in the party in the state. Okowa decamped to avert arrest and probe by EFCC. I see Ned nwoko, decamping to another political party to pursue his political ambition for governor of Delta state. |

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on Thursday informed a United States District Court that they required an additional 90 days to produce investigative reports related to an alleged drug case involving President Bola Tinubu dating back to the 1990s. In a Joint Status Report submitted to the District Court for the District of Columbia, the two federal agencies, alongside the plaintiff, Aaron Greenspan, made the request to extend the timeline. The case concerns Tinubu’s alleged involvement in a Chicago drug ring in the early 1990s. However, Greenspan, an American legal transparency advocate and founder of the platform PlainSite, rejected the 90-day extension and instead proposed a 14-day deadline for the FBI and DEA to produce the relevant records. The District Court, presided over by Judge Beryl Howell, had previously ordered the agencies on April 8, 2025, to search for and process records relating to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests submitted by Greenspan. The original deadline for the agencies to submit their report was May 2, 2025. Greenspan filed 12 FOIA requests between 2022 and 2023, seeking information about a Chicago-based drug ring in which four individuals, including Tinubu, were allegedly involved. Naija News reports that these requests also sought documents on other individuals linked to the case: Lee Andrew Edwards, Mueez Abegboyega Akande, and Abiodun Agbele. Previously, both the FBI and DEA had issued “Glomar responses,” refusing to confirm or deny the existence of the requested records. However, the court ruled that such responses were inappropriate in this case. In the Joint Status Report filed on May 1, 2025, the FBI and DEA informed the court that they had begun searching for non-exempt portions of the requested records. They anticipated completing their searches within the next 90 days. Despite this, Greenspan argued that the agencies should produce unredacted versions of the documents they had already identified by next week. He also emphasised that the remaining records should be provided within 14 days, accusing the agencies of failing to provide a valid rationale for why the document search would take up to 90 days. He signed Greenspan’s proposal for a 14-day extension and two lawyers representing the defendants, Edwards Martin Jr. and Jared Litman. The report reads, “Aaron Greenspan (“Plaintiff”) and Defendants Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the only remaining defendants in this case, respectfully submit the following joint status report proposing a schedule to govern further proceedings, pursuant to the Court’s Order of April 8, 2025 (ECF No. 47). “Pursuant to the Court’s order, the defendants FBI and DEA must search for and produce non-exempt records responsive to the plaintiff’s FOIA requests (FBI Requests Nos. 1588244-000 and 1593615- 000, and DEA Request Nos. 22-00892-F and 24-00201-F). “The FBI and DEA have initiated their searches for responsive, non-exempt, reasonably segregable portions of records requested by the plaintiff and anticipate completing their searches in ninety days. “Given the years-long delay already caused by the defendants and the fact that many responsive documents have already been identified, the plaintiff proposes that the FBI and DEA complete their searches and productions by next week, or, at the very least, produce unredacted versions of the already-identified documents by next week, with the remainder completed in 14 days. The defendants provide no rationale for why their search for documents should take 90 days. “The plaintiff intends to request reimbursement for his costs: the filing fee of $402.00 and $38.22 for certified mail postage, totalling $440.22. “The defendants propose that the parties submit a joint status report on or before July 312025 to update the Court on the case status following the agencies’ search for responsive, non-exempt, reasonably segregable records requested by the plaintiff. The plaintiff proposes that they submit a joint status report on or before May 31, 2025.” Copyright © 2025 Naija News. All rights reserved. |

To calm Omo agege nerves,he will be settled with s Senate ticket and ultimately a Senate president. Keyama will also likely be settled with a Senate or house of rep.ticket. As for great Ogboru,he has outlived his usefulness politically,he started on a wrong note. He may be compensated with a minister |
Why are Nigerians so violent by nature? |
The defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set the stage for a potential leadership tussle within the party. His move comes just days after the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structures across Delta’s 25 local government areas and wards into the APC. Despite Oborevwori’s high-profile entry, Ovie Omo-Agege, the former deputy senate president and the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in 2023, insists he remains the leader of the ruling party in the state. The APC constitution does not explicitly define leadership at the state level. However, governors traditionally assume control, leveraging their political influence and access to state resources. This convention now places Oborevwori in a strong position to steer the party’s affairs in Delta. Omo-Agege, who has been managing the party alongside Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, maintained his leadership claim despite not currently holding any elected office. Party insiders acknowledge that while Omo-Agege has played a significant role in keeping the party structure intact, it is customary for sitting governors to become de facto leaders upon joining the APC. “Currently, Omo-Agege is not holding any political office; he is just saying he remains the leader of the party in Delta State because he has been holding the party together with Festus Keyamo in the state. We all know that the governors are the de facto leaders of the party. They usually dictate the terms,” Vanguard quoted a party insider. Meanwhile, Keyamo has publicly recognised Oborevwori as his leader, signaling a shift among key figures within the party towards aligning with the governor’s leadership. “Today is the day the Lord has made in Delta State. Finally, finally Delta is APC! Thank you, Mr. President for your leadership that has attracted the best to our Party. Thank you, my leader & Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori for your foresight and courage in taking this bold decision,” Keyamo said in a post on X welcoming the defectors last week. While welcoming the governor and the former PDP members into the APC, Omo-Agege emphasised unity and collaboration, assuring stakeholders that the transition is being handled with care. “In line with outcomes of deliberations with the national leadership of our party, the Progressive Governors Forum, and Delta APC stakeholders, I wish to assure all stakeholders that any issue arising from this development is being carefully considered and managed with prudence and foresight, in the best interests of our party and our beloved state. “Let us embrace this development with unity, understanding, and a shared commitment to the progress of Delta State and Nigeria,” Omo-Agege said in a statement on Sunday. © BUSINESSDAY MEDIA LTD 2025. Freetech:Government failure to provide basic infrastrure like constant power supply (electricity), increase in electricity tariff and outright removal of petroleum subsidy. These led to the telecom companies to increase their tariff because their operational cost has increased because of the above. Banks uses the services provided by these telecom companies, they have to increase as well, therefore,it boils and watered down to the consumers. So the government is the main cause of all this burden heaped on Nigerians. |

Nigeria workers works like an ELEPHANT and eat like an ANT.While their leaders live in affluence. The minimum wage cannot buy a bag of rice. Those that laboured for the nation seems to have laboured in vain because their pension were never paid. Many of them died in frustration, while waiting to collect it.Those of them still alive are living in hell as there's no fund to take care of themselves in their old age. What is it to celebrate on workers day?.is it SUFFERING AND FRUSTRATION? |
This government is out to improvirise Nigerians. Nigerians should form a non political party coalition to vote this bad government out of power,we shouldn't allow it to go for a second term. If they are even using the money judiciously,it would have been better, they are looting it and spending it aimlessly. |

The British High Commission on Wednesday refuted claims circulating in the media that a serving member of the United Kingdom Armed Forces is involved in an alleged illegal arms procurement operation in Nigeria. In an official statement released by the commission, a spokesperson for the High Commission clarified that the individual identified in recent reports is not currently serving in the UK military. “The individual identified in recent Nigerian media reporting is not a serving member of the UK Armed Forces,” the statement read. Further information provided by the Commission revealed that the individual previously served as a junior rank in the UK Armed Forces Reserves and has since been discharged. It was also confirmed that the person held no commissioned officer status during their time in service. Citing obligations under the common law and the UK’s Data Protection Act, the Commission stated that it cannot release additional personal details regarding current or former personnel. The statement added, “The individual identified did serve as a junior rank in the UK Armed Forces Reserves but was discharged. “We have a common law and Data Protection Act duty to protect the personal details of our current and former employees and are therefore not able to release any additional information in this matter.” The PUNCH reports that a British Army officer, Major Micah Polo, an Itsekiri by origin, was allegedly recruited by one Collins to procure weapons and ammunition intended to fuel tribal tensions in the oil-rich region. However, DSS operatives from the Delta Command were said to have foiled the move on Friday night and arrested the arms supplier during a covert exchange near Asaba, Delta State. During the operation, over 50 AK-47 rifles, six pump-action shotguns, and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition were confiscated. Polo, on the other hand, was intercepted in Lagos as he attempted to board a flight to the UK, while his associates were apprehended in Asaba during the operation. A delegation of Niger Delta stakeholders and a coalition of civil society organisations on Monday stormed the British High Commission, demanding a thorough probe of the indicted British Army officer. They also begged the British government to cooperate with the Department of State Services to uncover Polo’s collaborators, some of whom are reportedly still at large. punchng.com © 1971- 2025 Punch Nigeria Limited |

PlasmaTV:keep arresting yahoo boys can never solve the problem.New ones wiil still come to replace them. The Nigeria system is designed in chasing shadows, not putting permanent solution to a problem but temporary solutions. It seems these exist to feed the state, hence permanent solutions has never been created If you cut the branches of a tree,it won't kill it but when you cut the root of the tree,it will die. These are some of the solutions to stop or reduce crime in any society 1.creation of jobs(this is very critical as an idle hands is the devils workshop) 2.creating an enabling environment to do business. 3.create a functional welfare scheme for Nigerian youths especially those from ages 18 to 30. 4. Primary Education should be made free and secondary education upto tertiary education should be subsidized. |
