Here's what we know: your mom was okay one minute, and the next she couldn't move her legs or speak properly. This is shocking and new to you, and I see how it may seem almost magical or spiritual... But it's not. We aren't shocked or surprised by this because we see this all the time.
We understand why this has happened and where to go from here; it isn't spiritual or mysterious.

You are inclined to believe whatever you were told at the facility you took her to since they are supposed to be more knowledgeable on the matter, but I can assure you that this has nothing to do with typhoid. They've only successfully wasted your time, money, and some of your hope that hospitals know how to treat diseases.

It is not arthritis either because that affects the joints gradually over years in an entirely different way from this.

What it appears she has is a Stroke, just as you suspected. Most likely this was caused by high blood pressure.
How?
Well, when the blood pressure is really high, especially when it's been that way for a long time, it usually causes damage to the blood pipes, especially those in the brain. Instead of blood flowing around gently throughout the body like a steady stream, it rushes around the body like a raging storm. That is where the damage comes from.

Unfortunately, that often causes the blood pipe in the brain to be so damaged that it can suddenly become blocked/or blown and whatever that part of the brain is meant to control will simply not function properly. It's usually the arms, legs and speech that are obviously affected.

What to do next:
Ideally we would need a brain scan to confirm what we suspect (a stroke). The scan will cost upwards of 50k depending on where you are, and it will show us evidence that a stroke has occurred. Additional tests are usually needed to check on the heart, liver, kidneys, sugar level, and cholestrol , since we often find problems there in people who have high blood pressure. Those tests may be fine, and some of them may not be fine. Better to know so we can start treating early.

It would seem to make sense that the priority is to control the blood pressure, but that's not the case. Meaning: the fact that her blood pressure is better doesn't mean things are fine now.
With a stroke, it's a matter of how badly damaged that part of the brain is. If it's a minor injury then many people will recover the function over time; if it's a major damage, there's usually nothing that can be done. There's hardly any way to tell that now so we just have to wait to see how she recovers.

You will hear a lot of random ideas about some spiritual or herbal treatment, and you'll be so confused by it all you'll just try whatever you see. It doesn't help. It's almost always a waste of time and money, and hope.

What can help: go to the general hospital closest to you. They will stress you but they will help.

What does that help look like?
Well, the tests already mentioned.
Then the appropriate drugs.
And usually physiotherapy later on.

If you take her home, she may or may not show some improvement but you will not see the next stroke coming if one does happen because the biggest fear in someone who has suffered a stroke is a repeat stroke. Please go to the general hospital so your money and time spent would actually count for something.

I hope you have a better understanding now and I hope you are able to make the right decision in this difficult situation.

We all know that Bola Tinubu did not win 2023 Presidential election if not for INEC's abracadabra that forced them to switch off the polling unit result upload on irev after wasting billions of Nigeria's treasury and promises and reassurances even on international platforms.

Peter Obi won the highest number of votes cast in 2023 Presidential election, it was clear, in Lagos alone, Obi won Tinubu with over a million votes before INEC reduced the margin to give Tinubu some edge.

What I cannot say is if Peter Obi got the required national spread to be declared overall winner, we would have known this if INEC had remained neutral and allowed the polling unit result upload to go through, God and nature will judge INEC Yakubu and all those that had a hand in that heartbreaking rigging of 2023 Presidential election that put Nigeria in the mess it is today.
